It is been late for more than 10 days... I'm really concerned, I don't think I'm that LUCKY to get pregnant already... Because my period never get late like that, may be 2-5 days. I'm just not ready yet and I'm not prepared to give birth... Have you ever experienced that? I would be very happy to hear your sharing!!!!!

Sometimes stress can make you skip. If you are concerned and have done the deed I would take a test to be on the safe side & if you have a Dollar Tree by you they have reliable tests for $1 better than wasting $15-20 @ a regular store. Good Luck I hope things turn out the way you hope they turn out.

I agree Stress can play a huge factor in missing a period...Also worrying about something can play a role!

It most certainly can make you skip! I skipped a few times in high school being stressed out about finals. I've also had it show up a week early a few months in a row or show up a week late a few months in a row.... though my body has always been strange like that. Again if you've had relations it's best to be certain you are not pregnant. With my first I was sick with a bad cold and body ache, we were trying and I thought well before I take this cold med I will take a test. Sure enough I was expecting, wich then told me not to take anything for my cold ect as it could hurt the baby potentially. If it skips more than one month & your pg test is negative, you should call your Dr and ask if they'd recommend an appointment.

you mean stress can make it skip completely until next month? The test can tell if it is just pregnant? Thank you.

I've experience this before. Mine was like 6 days late. I panicked but I told myself that I've always had an irregular period so things like it can happen sometimes. My period is sometimes 5 days early, while most of the time, it is 5-6 days late. It even came to a point that I didn't have my period for almost 4 months. Maybe you're stressed out or thinking of too much? Because factors like those can affect your menstrual cycle. Don't worry too much :) If you're unsure (whether your pregnant or not) then better have a pregnancy test now :) Hope I somehow enlightened your mood. Happy myLotting!

Yes, 4 months. And no, I didn't get pregnant or something. I think it's because of our swimming trip. I swam even when I have my period on. Yes it can happen sometime. My little sis even experienced it too. But hers was just like a month and a week. No, she didn't get pregnant or something.

Hi mermaid...The only time that I was late in getting my period was when I was pregnant and right after I gave birth to my son. If I were you I'd check a home test. Good luck!

Nope actually. My period is the opposite of yours. Instead of being skip, it seems that it doubles every month and i myself don't know if it is unhealthy or not. But i have heard of several cases just like yours, my classmates tried being skipped for more than 5 months or maybe almost a year. It was really scary for her, and i think it is really abnormal though. You should really consult it to the doctor.

If you are stressed, lose weight, very tired you can miss it. Also it all depends on your body. I never get mine in the month of March. (Don't ask me why, I think it is due to February being so short).

sometimes yes... but i rarely missed my period for more than 10 days... if you are worried, may be you can do a pregnancy test by yourself at home... you can buy the kits at the supermarket or pharmacy... that's what i did in the past... just to ease your mind, you might want to do that as soon as possible... take care and have a nice day...

I have only been late when I was pregnant. Get a home pregnancy test and take it to ease your mind (or confirm your anxieties). You can find them fairly cheap at Dollar General or Wal-Mart now. My periods have always been regular so I never was late unless I was pregnant.

Hello mermaidivy, Mine is not really regular and the very first time I got pregnant, I only realized it when I was three or four months pregnant. I didn't even jot down my last period and that's the reason I realized it quite late. Normally it will come every month just that the time is irregular sometimes...

Hello mermaidivy, It is irregular sometimes where I can get twice in a month. Sometimes I just lose count of the days. I also have slight mood swing and aching body whenever it is near the time. I didn't care much that time cause I just got married. I got pregnant right a month after getting married. Another thing is that, I was not ready for the pregnancy since I was still in honeymoon period... That's why I didn't check it earlier.

You realized after 3-4 months without PMS? That's weird.

Until I started birth control, my period was EXTREMELY irregular. Sometimes it would decide to come twice in a month or not at all. It really depends on how regular you are as to whether or not you should be worried.

Yes I skipped a whole month before. I have been 3 weeks or so late before. If you have changed your diet or are stressed out worried it will effect changes to your body. If you recently started exercising or are excersising more it will have a effect on it.

No I was not pregnant I was worried that I was and I took the test and it was negative. That's how I found out that stress plays a big factor in it. And your change of diet. Your welcome I am glad our information was helpful to you.

My period once came late, like a week or so late. The next month, my period never came at all. Of course I was worried. But I knew I was not pregnant because I did not do it. Then I did some research on the internet and asked my doctor. She said that it was just because of stress and poor diet. It was true because for those two months, I was working overtime everyday at work and was super stressed out. At the same time, because I was so busy, I was not able to eat dinner most days and lunch was always hurried and usually was fast food like noodles or biscuits.

I guess stress and poor diet are probably the causes now after I received you guys's comment, seems like it. Thanks for your response! :-)

Don't worry it's normal. I'm married for a year now, and 3 months ago i was delayed for 10 days too, all my preg tests were negative and I already visited my obgyne to check what's wrong. I have a heart condition so its a big deal for me... but she said that its normal for women even those with regular cycles to get delayed at times. It really freaked me out, coz i've never been delayed that long. She said, its just STRESS... coz im thinking too much and worry too much... She prescribed some medications to induce menstration... and then in the afternoon, i had it... lol, it's a complete waste of money, estrogen is a bit expensive... lol

Oh you just released my concern! You sounded like my situation right now so I'm just hoping for the best and see what's gonna happen, hopefully, it is caused by the stress because I'm really not ready for getting pregnant totally... Thank you for your response!!

it was a good laugh, i was with my husband that day and he told me that the estrogen really worked, we just bought it and without even having the chance to take it, it worked, lol... and then he made an old joke saying, during those old times girls say when they have a period, "oh, i have a period today(frowning)" but now, women say "yes!!!, i have a period(with a wide smile on their faces)" he's really corny most of the times... btw, i used medic preg tests and its really accurate...

I have had times when my period was late or even skipped. IT was caused by being so stressed out and my body wasn't functioning properly. But I understand being worried about things cause I know I was LOL. It could also skip if you have been really sick lately.

Yes, I've missed my period before. Mostly due to being pregnant, though there was one time back when I was a teenager that I was late, yet I couldn't have been pregnant because I wasn't sexually active at that time. Though I don't think my mom believed me and she took me down to the doctor. If I remember right I had been dehydrated (or maybe it was something else) and it screwed up my cycle. The other times, as I had mentioned, were due to being pregnant. I don't think any woman can ever really prepare for birth, especially the first time around, because they don't know what to expect. Sure, they can hear stories from other woman that have given birth, but each pregnancy is a unique experience and different for every woman. But I'll be more than happy to share one of mine anyway. I was beyond scared of giving birth to my first born, so I'll skip right to my second. LOL As I knew what to expect I wasn't scared giving birth to him at all. I just wanted him out! LOL When I got to the hospital I was 9 centimeters dilated, but my water hadn't broken. My doctor decided to wait to see if it would break on it's own...over two hours. But that didn't happen so the doctor broke it for me and I gave birth to my son 4 minutes later. All in all I was in labor with him for about 6 hours. If you are concerned you should get a home pregnancy test. They're pretty accurate and inexpensive. I've used plenty of 'em in my time and they've never been wrong! Good luck!

Mines has done that as well. I was extremely stressed out and I went about tow months without one. I wasn't pregnant just stressed out it happens. Go to the doctor and get yourself checked out. That's the best advice you can get from anyone.
