Just want your opinion, since taking photography course is very expensive, how did you improve your pictures? Do you self-taught or ask someone from professionals? I really want to improve taking shoots of all kinds of occasion. Any opinions are highly appreciated...

Photography courses are expensive. I think the best way is to practice, practice, practice. Also learn the ins and outs of your camera. Try the different modes and also take pictures on the manual setting (if your camera has one).
There are a lot of websites online that give great tips and also examples of photos and how they were taken. Or go the bookstore and flip through some photography books and get one that you like.
And if you know a professional and they don't mind, ask them questions and get tips from them.

Nothing beats interacting with other photographers: you will learn a great deal if you join a camera club, and have a lot of fun, too.
You can also use the Internet: join Betterphoto.com and ask people to critique your photos. Read up on specific techniques at my Qassia site at http://davidarich.qassia.com/ snd buy some photo magazines on topics that interest you; enter photo competitions and try monthly challenges on sites like photogallery.com ~ it's all good, and it's all (mostly) free.

I haven't taken a course yet - I intend to eventually just to get the certificate people seem to love seeing so much. Practice makes perfect so just keep shooting. And a great website is http://digital-photography-school.com/ so check it out.

Actually I am fascinated with photography and video editing, I am hoping I can be able to study photography too. Well, according to other people, it is a bit expensive since you have to cover the expenses of the materials and equipments you have to use but all the hardship is worthy any way.

practice makes perfect. I think you can access the yutube website to gain vedios about photography course. When I was a junior in a university, I took the course. But I was too lazy that time, I depended on my classmates to get professional pictures. Now I am regreting.

I've not done a photography course, i would really really like to but like you say its a little to expensive.
I practice takig photos whenever possible. My cameras not brillaint but it does the job, and i get some nice photos with it.
I tend to take pictures of scenery although lately i've been doing photoshoots with my mum and the kids to get some practice in. And random thing and i will get my camera out. And if your pictures arnt perfect maybe try editing them with photoshop? I just play around till i get some great pictures.
