Yeah!!Till date I had food poisoning in two occasions. And in both the occasions the reason was because of eating an boiled eggs.Actually its not just because of egg,it was soaked in some tamarind soup and it was too spicy so my stomach couldn't handle that. When I had it for the first time it really abated my body.It took me nearly 1 month to become healthy again. But it was not that horrible when I got it for the 2nd time. Then I decided not to have this combination of egg ever in my life again..

Oh wow, sorry to hear this, I'm sure that it taught you a lesson. I think that I have learned a good lesson from all of this. Usually I try to prepare my food myself as much as possible. I clear out all the old food in the fridge about once a week. I'm lucky because none of my other family members seemed to come down with it, only me. I really don't have any idea what might have triggered it, wish that I did know. Anyhow thanks for responding. Take care and stay away from those eggs with soup dishes. I have no idea what caused this reaction for me. Not unless it was the medicine that I was taking. It might have been the sulfer.

Yes, I had it. It was more than a decade ago. My mom had been seriously ill for a number of months, so sometimes I cooked, and sometimes my dad would bring something home. My sister wasn't allowed to cook because that girl didn't have a culinary bone in her body! She made a casserole once, and didn't empty the grease out of the hamburger meat before she poured it in the casserole! Just imagine how it looked when we all came to the table to eat. LOL Anyway, my dad had bought my sister and I a McChicken sandwich from McDonalds. But he had an errand to run, so he didn't bring it home until five hours after he had purcahsed them (it was also summer time). So when we got home my sister and I ate them. Well, the McChicken sandwich had mayo on it. So that night our stomachs started hurting, and then during the night we both took different bathrooms and threw up, and well, you know. Horrible stomach cramps went along with it. It was three days before I felt any better. When we figured out what had happened we made sure to tell my dad what he had accidently done. He honestly had no clue that it was a problem to leave that in the car that long.

Okay, what your sister did with the casserole, I can't only imagine but at least she was trying to learn how to cook. And what your dad did by leaving the food in the car too long. Well you said it right, there was no way that he could have known but I"m sure that it was a great learning experience for you all. It's really strange how food that looks okay can really mess you up if it's been sitting out too long. Anyhow thanks for sharing and stay safe girlie, we need you around here at mylot. Many blessings. Thanks for sharing!

This one time, I went to Ikea, and I got TERRIBLE food poisoning. On the way home, I had to have my boyfriend pull over so I could attempt to throw up on the side of the road. I got a terrible migrane, and a really bad fever. I thought I was going to die! My roommate works at a hospital and he told me that I had all the signs of food poisoning. He went to the bathroom soon after and ended up throwing up, and feeling much better afterwards. My boyfriend had it coming out the other end, and I was miserable in bed for about 12 hours. Ugh!

In December I was pretty sick, puking, etc. Unfortunetely, I'm not really sure if it was food poisoning or the stomach flu. I think that when there are bugs going around, it can be really difficult to tell the difference. The reason I do think it was probably food poisoning is that my grandfather (who had eaten the same meal I did) also got sick, and as soon as every thing was out of my system, I didn't throw up any more. Could have been the flu, though, since my grandmother had been sick two days before. Whichever the case, you really shouldn't worry unless it lasts a long time (days) and you are staying hydrated. Hope you feel better, and take comfort in the fact that we've probably all been there, and we know how much it sucks :)

thanks for you response geogirl85, Yes I do take comfort that food poisoning is a very common thing. I am thinking about reading up on it later on in my medical book. I was too sick to read up on it the other day. But I'm feeling much better thanks and I"m glad that this sickness has run it's course. Mine only lasted a few days, I couldn't have imagined it lasting any longer than that. Good health is something that I will never take for granted again not as long as I live. Take care my friend and happy mylotting.

I did, But i wasn't really sure if it was a food poisoning or alergy to medicine. It happen when i got a fever after work. I went to a clinic and given a bunch of medication including one antibiotic. After visiting the clinic i went for my dinner at a stall. After dinner, i ate the medicine as instructed, and later that night, my stomach cramped up and i vomitted a few times, and couldn't sleep until the next morning i went to the same clinic and prescribed to a different medication. The stomachache continues for two more days and caused me to visited the same clinic thrice. Only on the third day that my stomach relaxed and i was able to eat.

That must have been a horrible experience for you. I"m starting to think that it might have been the antibiotic that made me feel bad too. Perhaps it was an allergic reaction for us both. The docs asked me if I was allergic to that particular med so I said no. Heck how was I to know? I had never taken it before. I guess there could have been an easier way to find out but at least now I think that I"m closer to finding out the culprit. Take care my friend and stay well.

no i don't think so... i have a stomach upset before but i don't think that it is food poisoning... i went to the toilet and puke so many times as well... may be you have to go to the doctor to have it checked if the situation doesn't become better... it is better to get the answer from the doctor rather than to keep on wondering what actually happened... hope you will feel better soon... take care and have a nice day...

I never have food poison before but my brother used to have it. It was back a while ago when my house full of guests. We had crabs and shrimps and other food, so my brother ate before everyone. He loves crab so much, so that was the only thing he ate that day. After a few hours later, he started feel dizzy and headache. Then he just kept running to the bathroom and throw up as well... Then, he started to complained about his stomach ache and stuff. First thing that my mom gave him was plenty of water and some Diarrhea medicine... my grandma gave him some sugar to eat... it release some poison in your system. The better way is to call your doctor about it

Oh how sad that you and your family got it. If my husband hadn't of been around here to help me I don't know what I would have done. I felt so sick and all alone, I don't live near my mom or family so they weren't around to comfort me. When you are sick it's so nice to have at least one good familiar face around. Glad you made it through. At first I was thinking about cutting back on eating all red meats for health reasons and just sticking to eating fish, chicken and turkey for my protein source but now that I'm starting to hear how tainted some of the chicken is I am going to think twice before I decide to cut out my red meat. We got to eat something and it's sad when you just don't know if your food is bad or not. We go to the groc. store believing that we are buying the freshest and the best cuts of meat but we just never really know.We may just all have to wind up eating a plant based diet. I'm sure we'd all be a lot healthier if we did. Good luck and thanks for responding.

I've had food poisoning once in my life and I hope it never happens again. That one time was more than enough for me. It happened several years ago. I'm not sure how long exactly. But it was during my mid-teens and I'm twenty-three at the moment. But that night, my parents and I had gone to this Italian restaraunt that we used to eat at quite a bit. At the time, I always ordered the spaghetti and that night was no different. But that night, the spaghetti seemed really different. I remember thinking or saying that the tomato sauce seemed unusually soupy. I didn't really think anything of it more than that though and ate. Not long after, things started going wrong. The first thing I remember happening was that my vision started getting really blurry. I kept rubbing my eyes but no matter how much I did my vision would keep getting blurry. I don't remember how bad, but I don't think it was THAT bad with the blurriness because I could still see well enough. The next thing I remember, later on my head started hurting. I think there was some other things that happened but I can't remember what. Ultimately, I ended up in the emergency room. While I was in the room, I threw up. Of course it was there at the hospital that I learned I had food poisoning. It was a long time before I ever ate the spaghetti again at that restaraunt. That's an experience I hope I never have again.

No, i never had a food poisoning but i came to know about this thing most from my friends. I know its really a bad feeling to happen. My friend had once and he got admitted to hospital for a week. We most avoid this thing to happen by having a proper diet.

Yes we must avoid food poisoning as much as possible. But sometimes it's really hard to know if your food has been tainted with some kind of bacteria, it could possibly be happening at the agricultural plants before the food ever make it into your home. The best we can do is try to keep a clean environment as far as I know. Also don't go to restaurants if you know they have a bad history of not being clean. Good luck my friend and stay safe. Thanks for responding, happy mylotting!

Hello Citychic , I can''t say that I ever had food poisoning before but I thought I did one time. It turned out I was suffering from an appendicitis and that was very painful but I had thought I had food poisoning until I was taken to the hospital and wheeled into surgery right away after some blood test. The upper G.I. test wasn't completed after I drank this yucky stuff.

Ahhh, food poisoning. Once my mom picked up some fried chicken from Walmart. My 6 younger siblings would not touch it for some reason so only my mom, dad, and I ate any. My mom started to feel a little woozy first. She thought she was coming down with something and went to bed early. My dad and I didn't feel a thing so we stayed up late. Then when I went to bed I suddenly woke up in the middle of the night ready to hurl! Like, not even have time to get down the hall to the bathroom hurl! I grabbed the nearest thing I could find and threw up. In the morning I realized that I had grabbed my nail polish bucket! I had to throw them all away because the acid from my vomit ate through the glass bottles. When I talked to my dad the next day I found out he too had gotten sick in the middle of the night. None of my siblings did, so I think it's pretty safe to say it was the chicken. Haha.

I had one years before. I was poisoned by tofu that I bought at the supermarket. Fortunately, my husband and my son didn't eat a lot of the meal with the tofu. So, I was the only one who suffered. A few hours after having my dinner of tofu, I started having stomach cramps. I lost count, the number of times that I had to rush to the bathroom. That entire night until the next morning, I had severe diarrhea and vomiting. The nausea didn't disappear until the next morning. It was purely horrible. My husband did suffer mild diarrhea but that was it. But as for my case, I thought I had to be brought to the hospital because of dehydration. Fortunately, by next morning, I started to feel a little better. After that experience, it took me a long time to trust another tofu meal...

Yep, that is DEFINITELY the worst feeling in the world. You feel like you are going to die from puking your brains out. I got it while traveling through Louisiana I stopped and saw a sign that said "farm raised catfish" it was a restaurant that raised them in the back and then cooked them there. Well, turns out they were feeding them ALPO DOG FOOD!!! I have NEVER had catfish again and this was 5 years ago. And I NEVER WILL!!

I never had any encounter or experience about food poisoning, but my mother or other members of my family does. We really believe that my mother had food poisoning before ,after eating the food given to her. When she arrived home ,she vomit a lot of time and she said she had a very weird feeling about her stomach..her vision, and she feel dizzy too. I'm aware that things can happen sometimes, however we tried to be careful and avoid everything bad to happen especially to our health. Sickness like food poisoning are very dangerous especially if it is intentionally done by someone to hurt someone. WHat we did that time is we consult and seek the help of the person who knows how to cure the sickness without going to the doctor. I think the best we can do to avoid it from happening is to have double care about what you eat and where you got it.

last October we went to eat in a seafood restaurant. We ate a lot. well its a birthday celebration of len and it's been so long since our group went out to eat, talk and of course pigging out and ruining our diets. so, there we were we ate a lot of talaba it was good but after a few hours we were racing to the Comfort room. 6/9 we're having diarrhea and vomiting. but we just let nature take its course. drink meds and drink lots of water and we're fine. we didn't even complain to the management since all we want is to sleep.
