It is really good for you when was the last time you cooked some Liver? and it goes good with Mash Potatoes, or Rice too, I haven't had any liver in a long time, I cooked some the other day, we ate it up in about two days, I put the rest in the frezzer. I bet you haven't had it in a while. Do you cook it? It good for you, you had to have an aquired taste for it, I know I do, I wouldn't eat it all the time. Have you ever eat it before. Beef Liver?

I love liver! I often buy chicken livers and roll them in flour, salt and pepper and cook them with a little oil in a skillet along with some onion. Yummy! It is high in iron too. Love it with potatoes. So good!

We have it only a few times a year. It is really rich so I try not to eat it too often. My mother made it quite often when I was a kid. She made it with bacon and onions.

My mom used to cook it when I was a child. I would never eat it. The smell of it is just too much for me to handle. Plus the fact that it's a cow's liver just grosses me out. Yeah, I eat meat, but that's an organ and I just can't bring myself to do it. I was a vegitarian for years and really don't like the emotional aspect of it lol. I have to eat meat because of a health issue and I admit I like some of it. I just can't let myself think about thier cute little faces when I do it.

My husband and I haven't cooked liver in a while, but we did cook some a few months back. It tasted pretty good. I dind't like liver as a child, but as an adult I really really enjoy it. I also like liver pate, especially the stuff I get from the Danish baker, at sunset Villa. Yummy!

I cook it pretty often. Hubby and I both like it . Calf liver sounds gross, but it's really good cooked with bacon and onions . I fried chicken livers and gizards last week . I fry them like Elusive does . I eat the chicken livers as hubby eats the chicken gizards . We like them and they are a cheap meal !

I haven't had liver in a while either, basically because I prefer pig's liver to any other and we've had it withdrawn, long before the swine flu scare. It's to do with EEC rulings. I used to fry it to seal it, then place it in a casserole dish with some bacon bits and onions which were also pre-fried, add some gravy and cook it slowly in the oven. Then, I served it up with mashed potatoes (fresh ones) and vegetables, normally cabbage and carrots. I miss it a lot.
I'm not so keen on the calve's liver or ox liver, as it seems a bit tasteless, so I haven't had it for some time, as I said.
Brightest Blessings.

It's not to everybody's taste my friend, and pig's liver is quite strongly flavoured.
I'm fine now I have my computers working again, but even whilst I was without them, I had the chance to get out a bit and to read my books. I almost finished my Stonehenge book, lol.

It has to be done right. That is the reason people do not like it. It cannot be overdone or it gets tough and we used to have liver and onions and bacon in a gravy. My grandmother, maternal grandmother that is, made sure that all the membrane was removed and she used either calf or beef liver, and when she turned it, it was just once on each side.
It has been a while since I had it, since my husband does not like it, and I do not want to order it or get it at someone else's house since it has to be done right for me to like it.

If you really want good liver, properly done, tell whoever is taking your order "If it cannot be cut with a fork, it's overdone, and it will be going back to the kitchen to be cooked properly." I have used this line in many restaurants over the years and I have never had to send it back. If I cook it at home, the key is to use good oil, and nothing else to cook it in. No salt, no pepper, no flour. About 2 to 3 minutes on a side. Fry your sliced onions in a different pan. Serve the liver with the onions over it, and whatever potatoes or rice you want with a good vegetable.

When I was pregnant, my mother insisted I eat liver. SHe was down visiting one time and I took her with me to the OB guy, she asked him about it. He said the liver filter out all of the toxin and carcinogens in the body and that no one should ever eat liver. I listened to him, I have not had it since. My son is 23 now.

Hi Marcie!
I made some Liver & Onions just the other night. We had it all the time growing up as kids. I guess I was just Hungry for this meal. We had mashed potatoes with it. I prefer rice but Bruce said mashed. So mashed it was. LOL I have a high liver enzyme count and cannot have liver that often. We have liver about two times a year. I like pork liver the best, but you just cannot find that anymore. So, beef it was.

Oh man....I just ate some good carne asada fries right now. Thinking of liver isn't making my stomach feel to well LOL. But yeah, I never liked eating liver growing up. I remember in my younger years my mom used to cook that type of meal for dinner. I used to give that look of disgust and I couldn't leave the table until I have finished eating it. And remembering when I was in the Philippines my ex girlfriend used to eat that like candy and she wondered why I looked at her with a disgust looked, but she didn't mind. I'm glad those days are over.

that is usually what happens when your force to eat something when you are a Kid you don't want to ever eat it anymore. I was the same way with Cottage Chesse, my Aunt use to make use to make us eat it with fruit for luch, she was a nurse so we always had to have healthy thing to eat, she believeed in that. I hated it, so when I got older I said I would nver eat it again. I have eat it since I was an adult, maybe 2 or 3 times, acually it taste all right, but I wouldn't just buy it. So I know what you talking about, Have a nice week. I will be back later I am watching the 12:00pm News.

Hi! I like liver, specially chicken liver, but my Husband doesn't like chicken liver and he prefers beef liver, so sometimes we had chicken liver and the next time will be beef liver, lol. I normally marinated the liver with soy sauce, lots of garlic and lime/lemon and then I fry the liver, but not over cooked. And then I saute onions into fry pan and add the marinate sauce into it. We also don't eat liver all the time, but I am going to cook liver tonight.

i love liver! i eat pork liver, chicken liver and duck/goose liver with gusto. i love pate and dishes with liver on it. i think it's an acquired taste that's why some people don't like liver. you have to be a bit on the adventurous side as an eater to be able to appreciate strong or strange flavors such as what's in liver.surely, if you'll try it once, twice or thrice, somehow you'll start to like the taste. you just have to give yourself some time to appreciate it.

You should try it it is very good. Fry it, just like you do Chicken but only ook it for about 5 mins on bith sides, let it get brown though, put you some Onions in it a little flour and Hot Water, as hot as you can get it. Let it simmer, and it's good with mash Potoes and gravy. Or Rice. Tell me what happen? It is very good.

I haven't really eaten liver since my Mom was still alive...so that's been more than 30 years ago hahaha. I've had liver since then, but it never really tasted as good as when my Mom cooked it. I don't know how my Mom cooked it, but it ended up tasting more like steak than liver. I know it's good for a body, and I've had Drs here and there suggest that I eat it, but I just can't stand the taste of it anymore. It's good that you still eat it, there's so much important vitamins, minerals and trace elements in it. Have a nice Sunday!

Yes Joy, I eat it everynow and tehn, Itt does in a way taste like steak. all you do is brown both side of the liver fry it in pay and after you cook it for 5 mins on both sides, , I forgt you need to put flour on both sides, after it browns put some water in the frying pan and let it simmer and cut up some onions and put in it. Iot is very good, but I don't eat it all the time. Maybe 3 times out of a year.

Mmmmm. I love liver and thankfully my daughter does as well so I get no complaints from here. My son isn't so fond of it but I let him smother it with ketchup so he handles it.
I almost always serve it with Kraft Dinner because that is my kids favorite and they aren't so likely to complain. I normally just mix flour, spices and a bit of bread crumbs, dip the liver in it and fry it up.
We usually have it at least once a month. At "that" time of the month to boost my iron level or I feel really exhausted for most of "that".

Nope, have not had it sine I was a kid. I don't like it very much and my wife absalutely hates it, so she will no be cooking it any time soon. Her parents used to force her to eat it and just the thought of it makes her gag now. So I don't see having any in our house any time in the future.

I love liver with onions and bacon. One of the best dishes going if it is on the menu when out for a meal that is what I choose. It is high in iron and minerals.I like it best with creamed mash.I normally cook it indoors a couple of times a month.I would eat it for christmas dinner if I could.Kidneys are also very nice and good for you in gravey with onions or on their own or in a steak and kidney pie offal is underated ,it is delicious, cheap and healthy.

oh no marciascott ,
I just remembered when I was little my mom would try to get us to eat it every so often . .. and she would try to bury it under some caramelized onions and mashed potatoes and ketchup ..
no matter how hard she tried . .it still was this big lump of ickiness that wouldnt go down . .if usually ended up in my napkin . for that is where I would put it when she wasnt looking!
