Okay first off i happen to be very afraid of spiders. Not just oh get it away from me but like burst into tears shaking all over frozen in place kind of fear. I know I should try to face my fear but i rather not. Well over the weekend there was a recluse in my fiance's room. I was so paranoid i started looking everywhere to make sure there was no more. He killed it but it was still so scary. This morning though is what got me. I was doing my normal routine getting ready for work. I went to take a shower. I was washing my hair when I noticed a wolf spider(it looked like one)behind the toilet. It was about 3/4 the size of my cell phone. I panicked and rushed to clean. Then when it was time to get out I just started crying really hard. Knowing everyone else in the house was fast asleep and couldn't help me. But I jumped out and ran naked into the hallway. I didn't do nothing about it and couldn't. I am even afraid of daddy long legs.
So what is everyone else on here afraid of? Is it something common as arachnophobia or is it something unusual?

I prefer snakes over spiders any day. I actually like snakes though. I can see one as a pet.

When I was younger I used to be afraid of spiders, cockroaches and rats. Whenever I see one I could not move a finger. I just scream at my mom or dad to remove it in front of me so I could continue what I am doing. But when I see cartoons like tom and jerry and mickey mouse I found rats amusing and even asked my parent to buy me a pet hamster. My cousin loves to catch a spider (the small ones) and play with it so I got used to seeing him playing with spiders and since spiderman is kinda handsome I find spiders not that scary. But cockroaches? It always make me scream. I could'nt move a muscle especially whenever I see the flying ones. It really freks me out.

Well, i have a weird one.. noses. I understand everyone has to have one, but they really gross me out just being there. If one comes near me like in my face, on my arm or whatever I start gagging and can't breathe (ironic I know). I'm okay with them being on someone but if they mess with it I start gagging also. It is extremely annoying. on to the spiders, I was in the shower one day and I guess we have a daddy long legs that was in there. They don't bother me unless they are on me. Well, Im superstitious and won't kill one unless I have to (it's extreme bad luck). So, I noticed it hanging down over my head. I took a whole shower while watching to make sure the thing didn't come down onto me. I probably would have killed any other kind. I had a sore neck after lol

in my opinion , it's common, you needn't think much more about it
most of the people will not like to see such animal stay a place next to themselves, and i think the different is just as you have said
how to face it, may some will ignore it
in fact, I'm afraid of big dogs , spider, and snake
but i will ignore them except snake next to me
lol

Well in spiders like daddy long legs I am agreeing. I can sit there and ignore them but if they start moving then I freak. As for other spiders even they die or i run. LOL. I can't stand spiders period and thats just all there is to it.

I was catching snakes before I even went to school, but was very scared of spiders. That was until a girl in my class at school picked up a spider. I braved it and took the spider from her, a BIG one, and showed my mother, who couldn't believe her eyes, knowing how scared I was of spiders. I was also scared of dragonflies. just because of the name in my mother language given to it, which sounded like it being able to cook needles.

There is a lot of things that I am afraid of, but the more common and always appear within my compound and scare me is lizards. Lizards like to crawl on the wall and I always think that they will fall down on landed on my body. That's why I am very scared of lizards. Not so sure is it because I have some kind of bad experience with lizards when I was young until I am so scared of such a small insects.

The fear of spiders, snakes, or other means of animals, insects or whatever science may call it, is a natural fear. A fear that normally responds to once self, once instinct. Once unusual presence to see it physically and reacts in a manner of panic which results to fear. These fear can be dealt naturally or even sat down and talk about it. Dealing this fear can really be dealt by just simply facing it and knowing how your feared party reacts on you from the time both of you are on the same plane of form.
My greatest fear is not easily dealt. Why?. Simply because its variant to nature. What I mean is. The Fear of Life, The fear of economic downfall. To all who knows our current situation globally, I too is currently experiencing its great downfall and the fear is inch by inch corrupting my sense of hope in surviving life ahead. This fear cannot be dealt easily since competition from the outside world is so massive that even you can never know where you stand from it.
My fear of life crashes my internal being that sees my uncertain future to my family and to my child.
So this fear can never be easily resolve. This is one fear God can vanish in a blink of his eye.

Spiders are really scary. Especially since you can't really tell which ones bite or poisonous right off the bat.
I hate goldfish...or any small fish really. I'm more disgusted and traumatized by them though...rather then being afraid of them. I just hate their blank faces and the way they open their mouths when they breathe. I'm also traumatized by them bc a friend of mine used to own a bunch of goldfish, big and small, and they'd always jump out or die some other strange way. Ugh, I'm getting grossed out just thinking about it! Also, when I go to the beach sometimes for a swim, I see fish swimming through my legs or I almost step on them! :( Sucks for me bc the beach is my favorite place! I just have to get over my weird "phobia".
Aside from that, I'm also afraid of ghosts and scary movies. Some people love the adrenaline of hauntings and horror movies...nope not me!

Wow, fear is so strange. It give goosebumps, cold sweats and ofcourse the shaking knees! I'm scared of Spiders, Cocoroaches , any other flying insects! But I'm not really afraid of darkness or creaking door. But insects, I'll be 10 yards away when I see one!

When I was little my mother would literally scream when she saw a bug, so of course I inherited her fear of bugs.
I especially hate the flying ones. I was stung by some yellowjackets about a year ago. They stung my hand several times and the pain went all the way up my arm. I was also stung on the forehead and had a bad headache the rest of the day. Those yellowjackets are just evil!
