She is an active member of a hillwalking club and swims regularly. In her younger days she was a good middle distance runner. She has always kept in shape and tries to eat well. Apart from an operation to remove her gallbladder a couple of years back which left a slight scar near her bellybutton - her tummy has weathered well over the years - so she stills wears her bikini. Age is only a number on a birth certificate - so as you say yourself if you have the body go for it.

Quite simply my mother has always kept in shape and has loads of confidence - not just for wearing a bikini but in life in general.

I just came back from the beach this weekend, Venice Beach, and unless I know the age of a woman I can't say how old is too old but there needs to be a surg in the one piece swimsuit in that area. What a freak show!

As long as the frame holds up well - there should be no limit. My mother is 63 and still wears a bikini

I think if she still has the body for it, then go for it also. I do not think there should be an age limit on people who are still physically fit. Some people who aren't can where in private and not in public though.

My wife is 76 years old and even though she can where the same jeans that she wore when she was 30, I don't think she would ever wear a bikini. My granddaughter was surprised when she saw my wife in those jeans. She never weighed over 115 lbs and was the Carnival Queen in high school when she was a freshman, she's a beauty.

I say if you can rock it where it til your 90 if you want to. There are some older women who still have fantastic bodies and they have worked that hard to look great in their 50's or 60's or beyond then they have every right to show it off. Of course you are going to have people who should really not be showing it off but still want to, but what are you going to do? If someone feels just fine in their bathing suit then good for them, they will enjoy life more than those that won't go to the beach or a pool because they are embarrassed.

Hi there Shar.
I agree with you when saying that there is no age for bikini.
I think that bikini is just like living, it doesn't have to stop at a certain age, or when you get retired. I really respect people that are still active and travel, or do sports or whatever after they have retired and i feel sad for people that after getting retired from their jobs due to age just stay at home and complain that they are alone...

It´s not a matter of age, but a matter of how well preserved is your body. There are teens that shouldn´t wear bikinis yet I have seen awesome women in their 60s with bikinis. When I went to St. Martin, my friend bought and used a bikini. She looked gorgeous. Yet I haven´t used a bikini for over 15 years.

A woman in a bikini after the age of 30 is just gross, just like a 60 year old man in a Speedo. If a woman over 30 must wear a bikini then don't wear it in a public place.

I was on a beach in Spain last week and women of all ages, shapes and sizes were wearing bikinis. So, it wasn't an age thing for them. My mom is in her 50s and she still wears her bikini becauuse she's able too and wouldn't like to be told otherwise because of her age.
