I believe every state in the USA requires that seatbelts be worn..but someone here on the forum from a state other than west virginia can correct me if I am wrong..Seatbelts can help you or hinder you ..Here, though, it's the law. That is in the USA+

A seat belt, sometimes called a safety belt, is a harness designed to hold in place the occupant of a car or other vehicle against harmful movement that may result from a collision or a sudden stop. As part of an overall occupant restraint system, seat belts are intended to reduce injuries by stopping the wearer from hitting hard interior elements of the vehicle or other passengers and by preventing the wearer from being thrown from the vehicle.

I put on my seat belt as soon as I get into the car. I also remind my passengers that they need to buckle up. Plus I don't want to get a ticket and it's the law in my state as well.

Yes I do. Even if it wasn't a law, I still would, for safety. I have been at the scene of an accident where someone was needlessly thrown from a car, because they were not wearing a seat belt. There are thousand's needlessly injured or killed every year, simply for failing to buckle up.

yah..i never feel safe without it. i always make sure that other people in the car have them on too. when i was in egypt, they didnt have seatbelts in the back seat, so whenever i was in a taxi i was soooo scared...plus, they drive like crazy there so im not used to it. a lot of the taxi drivers would get really offended when i asked them about seatbelts.
i dont remember wearing a seatbelt in afghanistan either.
