Have you ever tried to go on a diet? And how did you lose your weight? Did you spend a lot of money trying to go on a diet? I have gone on diets eating lots of salads with turkey or chicken in the salad. And I drank lots of water. Have you tried that one before? Any advice on good diets without spending tons of money?

When I was much younger, I used to go on diet in the hope of shedding some fats and eager to look like the models in the magazines. But honestly it won't work. This yo-yo type of dieting does more harm than good to our health. I gave up and accepted the way I am, I need to really love myself to appreciate my body. But I can tell you I did not stop hating the bulges that spread over my body which makes me look like humpty dumpty. I was told by a nutritionist in a health spa, that raw foods wash away cellular fat overnight. This is an effective and powerful raw food fasts. This type of program enables you to eat while antioxidants wash away cell fat. A bonus here is that this antioxidant fat scrubbing process works overnight, while you sleep. You enjoy raw foods during the day; powerful antioxidants work speedily in reducing your setpoint so cells are slimmed overnight. You actually wake up much slimmer with this simple raw food program.

Raw food would definitely make me lose weight. I've eaten at a raw food restaurant before and it was so nasty. I would hardly eat a thing. People always tell me it is hard being vegan, but I don't think so. Being a raw foodist would be way more difficult for me. At least being vegan I have so many reasons I can't even think about eating animal products. I don't have anything against cooked food.

Hi Pigglies, it is good to know that you have experimented on raw food diets. Fresh raw fruits, vegetables nuts etc are powerhouses with high concentrations of antioxidants. They uproot and dislodge the accumulated fats responsible for the overweight. Cooking only weaken and destroy much of the food's antioxidant power. That maybe the answer to those who wish to shed some weight. Dieting deprives our body of the proper nutrients and it is a torture to go off food for a certain period of time and at the end is only a temporary weight loss.

Now that is different. I like to eat a lot of raw veggies. I just went and picked some pea pods and washed them off last night and ate them on the way home. I like eating raw vegetables. I like to exercise to get more oxygen in my body because I smoke and its hard to quit. Thank you and have a great day.

I have to tell you, I have been on so many different diets that I have lost count. I have tried the pills and shakes and nothing has worked.I am currently trying a new exercise program and eating only 1000 calories a day, mostly salads. In the past I lost of my extra weight and was looking great but I was working on a road construction crew 10 hours a day. I no longer have the option of doing that type of work so I'm back to being fat and frustrated. If you find anything that works for you by all means PLEASE share what it is with me. Good Luck

PS stay away from the so called Mayo clinic diet, it's the one where you eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice with every meal. It is not recommended by Mayo clinic and does some really awful stuff to your stomach. I learned the hard way.

In the past I never used diet pills or anything else. I would exercise to Denise Austin everyday except on the weekends like Saturday and Sunday. And I ate salads everyday with chicken or turkey in it as a meal. I lost lots of weight from it. I dropped down to 120 pounds. And I was more active. I also took vitamins and garlic pills.

I have been on many diets in my life some more expensive than mst and I have discovered that the best diet is not the zone or the atkins it's the diet that I made all on my own with my likes and dislikes regarding food. I basically just decdided not to spend another dollar on diet pills r work out videos, all those years of waatching this diet show and reading that diet book has taugt me a lot.

That is good you found something that is good for you as in a diet. I don't take diet pills either. I have always tried to stick to vegetables and fruits in a diet. But I do think people do need to watch how much they are eating a day and calories in take. Have a good day.

There are actually lots of healthy diets out there that don't cost too much money. As for me, I have to admit I sometimes go on fast diets, like dieting for just 3 or 4 days. This usually happens when I have a special occasion to attend. 3 to 4 days before, I usually skip carbohydrates. I just eat tons of fruits and vegetables. In order not to feel hungry all the time, I also drink a glass of water every hour. But of course, I don't recommend such fast diets all the time.

I have heard of that. I can handle eating fruits and vegetables on a fast and drinking water. I drink water all day long more then anything else. It makes my body feel better when I have the water and not other stuff like sugared pops and lattes. I was drinking lots of those for a while and I made myself stop. Because i new if I didn't I would get bigger.

Yes, drink lots of water. That's better than going on a diet. Don't forget to eat a healthy breakfast and a full meal for lunch. But in the evening don't eat plenty. It would be good if you don't eat carbohydrates in the evening. Avoid eating junk food because it has lots of salt in it and salt retains water in your body. It makes your arms flabby. Believe me, it happened to me. But now I'm trying to avoid it. I've lessened my intake of salty junk food.

hi strawberrybaby, i have done many a diet in my day . .havent we all but by far the best diet i think that there is . is Weight Watchers....for not only does it help you lighten up but it also teaches you how to incorporate everything that is out there .. you can go out to a restaurant. .you can go to a party .. whatever . .wherever. . they teach you how to merge it all together! I learned alot from their program . .and I think it helps me not put on too many it and when I start to go crazy . .and you all know we have those times!! I also recommend doing it on line .. their website is so helpful and it becomes addicting with all the tools they have . .they run specials alot so the pricing in pretty reasonable .. anyway good luck!

Hi saw, I will check into it. I have had so much good advice from people on here. I got a lot of stuff to look into. It is always a good thing when someone can help you and coach you through things. Sometimes diets are easy sometimes they aren't. All I know is I have some pounds to take off. Thank you and have a great day.

I have found that just eating a little healthier and exercising almost every other day is the way to go, or atleast it worked for me. I went from 140 to 125 so hey it mite work for you

I have never used diet pills because i never trusted them much. But I have tried other diets. like eating salads with chicken or turkey in it. They were good and filling and I exercised a lot and lost a lot of weight. But as I got old now its harder for me to lose it. I will try eating a whole lot less and I exercise with my Wii fitness program. I need to drop weight.

i never really go on a diet before because i think i don't really have problem with my weight... rather than having to go on a diet, i prefer to watch what i eat on a daily basis to make sure that my weight won't go up too much... good luck with your diet anyway... take care and have a nice day...

I'm pretty much on a constant diet! I like to eat healthily, but it's sometimes hard when people offer me tempting foods. It's also hard when I get asked to go out for meals, as it's pretty much impossible to refuse food in that case. But, I do try to eat less when I'm at home, and I also like to go for short 15 minute jogs whenever I have a little spare time, and then helps to keep me fit as well!

I agree it can be hard when you go out to eat with family or friends. You just have to choose wisely in what to eat or just try not to over indulge in what is around you. My husband has always started first with a big salad so it can fill him up faster. So he wouldn't have much room to eat tons of other stuff. But at home we like to snack on veggies and fruits.

I have tried to eat on diet before butit din't work for me at al because I like to eat and I couldn't follow the menu completely, I sometimes justcannot stop the craving for some certain and went for it... I felt extrmely guiolty afterwards... since I started interested in spoting, I gave up eating on diet and started exercising, it worked good and I did lose weight and back to normal shape!

I know how it is to crave things. But you can try to put something in place of what you are craving. Like if you are craving sugar in tea put a little honey in it. It helps. I do like to exercise. I let myself poorly get out of shape. Now sense my husband got the Wii game system he got me the Wii fitness. I just started my workouts yesterday. I am trying to see how it goes. And I try to stay away from sugar and sodas and know lattes. So I drink tons of water. Have a great day.

i don't need to go on diet coz i'm thin. but my cousin told me that drinking water before having a meal is very effective coz it will make your tummy full already even before you eat.. also eating citrus fruits is very effective..

Its nice to be thin and not have to worry about gaining weight. But still even if we were thin we should still watch the fat intake because of our bodies. I like all kinds of fruits. Citrus fruits I can handle but I can't have grape fruit with one medicine I am on. It will clash. But anything else I can have in fruits.

Of course. I guess most girls today have tried to go on a diet . Actually I am on a diet right now. Unlike you, whenever I go on a diet, I spend less money than usual, because I eat less. You can cut your normal meal to half if you like, that can save you some money. By the way, drink more water to fill your stomach, it works quite well on me.Good luck!

I agree I need to cut my meals in half and eat way less. I think from drinking as much water as I do that is why I don't eat much. I eat about once a day. And that is another reason why I wanted a exercise program. That is why I started the Wii fitness program to help me out. Smoking don't help either. Thank you and have a great day.

That is why I asked questions on here to see what would help me best if I can't do something right one way I can at least try something another way. My husband is a very big eater and he eats tons of salads. Even when we have gone out to eat I would see a big salad on his plate only.

Want to reduce weight, please proceed with your eating habit and life style: 1.strictly follow the eating habit 'eat good brearfast, have enough at noon, eat little in supper', eat little is the key to reduce the weight! Three points must be noticed here: first, must have breakfacst. The person have not had the breakfast is apt to get fat, second, do have enough at noon. If do not have enough at noon, must be hungry in the evening, it is difficult to accomplish to 'eat little in supper', third, must try hard to eat few in the evening! And don't eat carrivorous, sweet food, fried food at dinner, it is all right to drink some light noodle soup, thin rice gruel, don't drink the salty soup. The secret of a lot of weight-reducing winner is: resolutely refuse to take food after nine o'clock in the evening, resolutely refuse to drink water to! This is the key that they keep the curve beautiful. 2.insist on the walking quickly above of half an hour after supper 3. does not eat sweet food 4. try to eat more slowly

All of your points sound good because I barely eat breakfast at all. So I will eat breakfast and a smaller dinner. I like soup so don't drink the broth ok. I bake a lot of my foods or boil them I barley fry any foods. And I have been doing good about staying away from junk foods and candy. I won't eat after at certain time at night. I stop eating at 6pm. and the eating slowly part I think I can handle.

I've dieted in the past on my own. Once I was able to lose 40 pounds. I just cut out a lot of fatty foods, snacks, calories, etc. until I lost weight. Only healthy foods were left. But now I don't have that discipline anymore. Currently I need to lose weight, but I'm doing exercise alone this time. I don't want to lose muscle, and most diets you end up losing a bunch of muscle because that makes the weight come off faster. I don't care about the number on the scale, I want to fit into smaller clothes. My waist is disproportionately large.

I want to lose weight this is the first time I have ever been this heavy in my life. 3 years ago I use to weigh 125 pounds now I am 160 and I hate it. I want to lose weight and tone muscles. I use to drink pop and lattes and lattes are very fattening. And pop has a ton of sugar. My hips and stomach bother me. Have a great day.

I stopped drinking regular pop, and started using Splenda instead of regular sugar, I also eat smaller portions and a lot less junk food and candy. For me, it was more than a diet, I made permanent changes in my eating habits. I also try to be more active, although; there are days when I am just too tired to do much of anything. For me, this time of year, with the weather being hotter, I go outside more to work in the yard and I eat a lot less because my appetite is lower this time of year. I think that rather than spend tons of money on diets and diet pills that only help for now, it is more important to make small permanent changes that you can really stick with. I haven't lost all the weight I want to yet, but I know that because I am losing my weight slowly, I am more likely to keep it off inthe long run.

I don't drink pop anymore. I just drink water. And if I drink tea I use very little honey in it. I eat very little junk food. I think in the winter is when people eat the most because know one wants to go outside much when it is cold. So I think that is what will help me with the Wii fitness for the winter months. I love to work in my yard planting flowers and messing with my garden.

YES I have tried to go on a diet.. and it is effective even without spending lots of money. Believe it or not, obesity can be a symptom of social and technological progress. What I did for my diet is to be more organize of the food I've eat. Be not tempted to foods high in carbohydrates.Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Be comfortable of what you eat and never ever super size your food proportion. Be sure that in every meal you prepare is half veggies and fruit at both lunch and dinner.. And I also drank lots of water same as you are.

Carbohydrates is what gets anyone if they don't stay away from it. I like to eat lots of vegetables and fruits. They have always been one of my favorite foods. half veggies and half fruits I can do at meal time. That sounds good to me because I like that kind of stuff. Thank you.
