Hi Friends!
Suppose you are asked to buy a brand new car for yourself in that case what would be your choice of colour of that car. While buying a vehicle for our family or ourselves we pay considerable attention towards the colour of the car and sometimes, if a car of a particular colour is not available, we tend to wait for that particular colour. I would like to know your choice about the colour and would also like you to tell us why would you choose the particular colour for your car. Different persons will have different choice of colour, as per their taste. I have seen many persons going for colour white, because it is quite common and universal colour and it absorbs less heat and looks cooler. Please share your opinion with us. Many thanks in advance.

Hi Deepak,
Its been a long time I’ve seen you ANYWHERE!!!
Anyways, I love the colour green so mint green would be an obvious choice. I don’t like the deep green of Maruti 800, rather the snazzy mint green of some other car (santro or something, I don’t exactly know the name of the brand)…other than that, I love the tomato red colour of another brand (again I cant remember the name)…so basically, mint green first and tomato green second…*sign* if only wishes were horses!

Hi Sudipta!
I am very much alive and kicking and was active on mylot, I'm wondering how could you notice notice me? (In fact, I did not find you anywhere and you did not respond to my previous discussion?)
I appreciate your choice, however, would like you to tell me the reasons for choosing mint green colour. I have noticed that practically mint green colour cars do not come in many numbers. However, I'll try my best to recommend your choice(s) about some unusual colour to manufacturers of cars.
Deepak

Deepak my choice of a colour would be either Gold or Silver. For all the while that i've had and driven around a car it's been one of these two finishes. I find them elegant and simple to maintain. Out here it does not get too hot in the summer, so the choice of colour does not get too influenced by the weather.

Hi Alokn!
So you wish to make choice for two colours. I feel that silver or silver-grey is one of the best and sought after colours and many people go for it. Cars with golden shades/colours are also getting prominance now a days.
Many thanks for being the second one to respond to the discussion.

I love black and white colors. But recently the fact that White has a dignitary effect and mostly used by VIPs, I would prefer Black instead. I have always loved the poshe shine of blackness. Its tough to maintain but never mind that's my color all the way.
What's yours?

Hi Mimpi!
I think that while has got its beauty and it stands apart like black colour. Black colour cars, no doubt look good and distinct, however, the problem with black colour is it absorb all the light (that is why we people avoid wearing black colour clothes in summer). I would prefer steel grey or white. My previous car was of white colour, however, the current one has light golden colour, which also looks good.
Good night!
Many thanks for sharing your choice of colour.

Hmmm you know that I never really give it a thought? I guess maybe because it doesn't really matter that much to me what color the car is.
Sure there are some colors I would prefer not to buy - like lettuce green, or pink or stuff like that - but other than that most colors are ok with me.
My first car was silver - dad bought it for me and I loved it color and all :)
Then I came to Canada and our first car here was black. I liked it too. We had a darkish red van wish was fine too, and our car is dark green.
Now that I think about it, I think I would avoid beige as well, don't like it too much, but, if the price was right, I wouldn't care either LOL

Hi arkaf!
Oh! I see that you are not very particular about the colour of a car. I think lettuce green and pin are unusal colours and one gets noticed easily among the lot, if it is pink colour. I suppose, less people go for it. Your response tells that you have enjoyed travelling in silver, black and red colour cars.
Many thanks for sharing and enriching the post.

LOl, no I'm not. FOr me, as long as it takes me from point A to point B doesn't have a reputation for problems or breaking down and it's within my budget, I don't care much what the car looks like or what color it is heheheh
I know that some people really think about those options carefully and as you stated will even wait some time so they can get the car in the color they like, but for me it doesn't really matter much.
Have a wonderful day

The colour would be far less important to me than the running costs or comfort but I would be unlikely to choose a red one. This stems back to a horrible dream I had years ago which involved a red car. I'm not keen on gold, lime green or orange either. My current car is a silver-grey one which is pretty boring but, it gets me where I need to go

Hi Wizzywig!
You are right running cost and comfort are also very important while making a decision to buy a car. I know most of the people would not prefer a red colour car. Red colour seems uneasy to me, as far as cars are concerned. I feel that silver-grey is one of the best and sought after colours and you should not feel bored with it.
Many thanks for being the first one to respond to the discussion.

Mine is black - never again!
It stays parked outside and shows all the dust immediately, even if it went through the car wash a few hours previously

Hi Jen!
Oh! I see that you won't prefer red or black colour, because it is a racing colour at your place and you are required to pay higher insurance premium (it is a news to me, here in India car insurance premium are not paid according to colour of a car). White, I suppose, is the best colour and gray is also good. Many thanks for sharing.

I like yellow, because it is very visible. I also like red, but red car is more likely to get a ticket, for some reason police like to ticket red cars...
I don't have yellow car, because we have so many yellow taxi in the city. I wouldn't have white car, because it gets dirty very easy.

I forgo the choice Deepak because I would be happy with the colour chosen by my son who is an avid lover of cars.If you ask me the colour of a saree then I can come out with an answer. Otherwise I may not know. But , come to think of it , recently I saw my sis-in-law's husband's new one and it was a lovely grey. So I may say that to my son, but I would be happy about whatever his choice is.

I am hoping to change my car quite soon as it is quite old now. It is running perfectly but the outside has bangs and dents on it, all except one of them caused by other careless drivers
My first choice would be for a silver-grey metallic colour and then white. Never again would I choose black as it shows up every single grain of dust on it! It is also very hot inside when it's summer here (I don't like A/C inside so I rely n putting the windows down). White would definately be cooler. Prior to my present car I had a white one and it was cleaner and cooler and worth considering next time.

I like the colour of the car I have now which is a metallic amethyst shade. My little daughter calls it purple but it is not as harsh as bright purple.
Years ago I was wishing very hard for a brand new car and visualised it right down to the colour.
I did not get a brand new car but years later I did come across a gentleman that was looking for a buyer for his vehicle which was in excellent condition and a nice amethyst colour!
I got a great deal and the car has been mine for five years now and I love it; if I had to purchase another one I would choose the same make and shade.

Hello my friend dpk262006 Ji,
Well, to be true to myself, I do not owe any car, my son has one silver Honda City, in case if I am made to choice, I will go with colou Blue.
Calm and Cool:
Blue is calming. It can be strong and steadfast or light and friendly. Almost everyone likes some shade of the color blue.
Pantone has selected the color Blue Iris (PANTONE 18-3943) as the 2008 Color of the Year telling us:
"Combining the stable and calming aspects of blue with the mystical and spiritual qualities of purple, Blue Iris satisfies the need for reassurance in a complex world, while adding a hint of mystery and excitement."May God bless You and have a great time.

Virtually every shade of blue I've seen on cars leaves me cold, but I know one shade I'd love to have: Prussian Blue. If you're old enough to remember the crayons Crayola had in their biggest packs back in the 50s, then you'll know that color. Deep, dark, with a touch of deep green. The closest thing one can find to it now is peacock green, but it's really too green.
Another time, perhaps, I'll do a mini-rant about the colors Crayola has dropped, & some of the less than good ones with which those gems were replaced. Grrr.
Anyway, thanks for the jog of my memory!

On the time comes that I will buy my own car, I want it silver gray in color. I like this color because for me it looks neat and elegant.Simple but I feel comfortable with it.Nevertheless, if there's no silver gray then I prefer maroon with gray accent.

I always wanted a red car but my husband doesn't like it. He mentioned about a survey that says red cars are the most accident and theft-prone cars( don't know if there is really such a survey or he just made it up LOL). So I settled for green. Good thing about dark colored cars is that dirt and dust are not easily visible - except of course for black. In choosing a car, of utmost consideration also other than the color is the brand(manufacturer), the functionality, and the price.
Happy myLotting!

Hi dory!
I think that less people prefer to buy red cars due to so many reasons, I am also not sure about the survey. Dark colour cars are alright, they do not get dirty easily, as would be a white colour car. Drak colour cars, no doubt look good and distinct, however, the problem with dark colour is it absorb all the light and heat(that is why we people avoid wearing black colour clothes in summer).
Many thanks for sharing your choice of colour.

I personally like either dark grey or silver. I am not sure why, I just think they look better. They glisten in the sun. I used to only buy tan colored cars because they are the same color as dirt and you do not have to wash them as much to keep them looking decent, but over the years, I have moved on the grey and silver.

Purple is my favourite colour and having dark purple it will not show up the dirt & dust as much as a light coloured car. I used to have a white car & it constantly looked dirty.
