Hello mylotters,
Good day! Well, my question today is, if there is food, you really don't like it, it's bitter, taste bad, but its very good for your health. For example, let's said it's good for your eyes or your heart.
WILL YOU EAT IT? Why and Why not?
Thanks for sharing!

No. When I was confined in the hospital for 2.5 months after my heart surgery they give me eggplants with tomato sauce without any salt in it. I can't eat that, sometimes nutritionists are over reacting so one time she came for a visit and asked me what I like to eat coz when they receive my tray it's not even touched. So I told her I'd prefer fish but not eggplants with no taste, fruits will be best if they're going to serve an oatmeal... Sometimes I just ask my parents to bring some home-cooked food I'll be more healthy eating the food that I like which I know are healthy too than being too conscious on food high with Potassium blah blah... I'm just 24, why do I need that kind of rubbish... I want to eat what seems good for my appetite than listening to a nutritionist.

When I'm on a diet I make an effort to eat foods that are healthy even when they don't taste good, this includes raw and cooked veggies, fish, and fruits. I don't really like them but in the name of good health, I will eat them anyway.
When I'm not watching my diet just like now, I eat all kinds of sinful foods - cake, chocolates, burgers, all those that are not recommended and tagged as unhealthy.

it depends really. if it relates to a feature of my body which is not in good shape already, i might as well have it.
for example, if my complexion is not great, then i will take a lot of carrot juice even if i dislike it. otherwise, i will not care.
same thing, i will apply for other health recipes too.

Yes, I would. Mother always cook vegetables with so yucky in taste at first try but when your eating this for second time and more you'll love it then. Well because it's healthy so no reason to refuse for this kind of foods. If you know an ampalaya, it taste so bitter but we love to eat that. With eagg and ampalaya hmmmm so delicious, or a salad ampalaya, or cook with grinned meat as beef, yummy! Another thing is this ampalaya is good for therapeutic purpose like for diabetic patient. To eat foods is not to prioritize the taste its the benefit of having a healthy body and prevent some diseases. Yes, let's eat for health!

You know there are a few vegetables here taste bitter but people all say they are healthy. I don't eat it anyway because I really don't like bitter taste. I think there are other foods that may replace them. I really don't want to eat something that I don't like, unless I am dying and that foods can save me.
I love China

i think alot of people eat things they don't like sometimes. me for the prefect example i don't do it often. but sometimes when my mom cooks vegtables i sometimes eat it very fast just to stay healthy and strong. then you eat the good things last because thats the last thing you want to taste in your mouth. yum. and i didn't know certain foods are good for your eyes i know about carrots. but i read about 2 years ago that its like a myth kind of thing.

i experiment with spices. you'd be amazed how you can get icky stuff to taste good with the right spices. however, if i am at someone's elses home and they serve it to me i will always eat it, i feel so rude saying no!
oh, except peas. i can't stand peas. they are the devils boogies.

Yes, I have eaten a certain food which I do not like because of its taste but luckily I turned to like this food because it has cured me and I've proven its healing power. Some foods may be likable depending on the technique of cooking. Bittergourd for example can be cooked with eggs and there's a technique of diminishing its bitter taste. Unfortunately, if you are eating for therapeutic reasons, some techniques in cooking and heat can diminish its healing properties. I never liked jute leaves before but a dish called paksiw (cook dry with vinegar and fish), has change the way I perceive its taste. I'm just so glad that there are plenty of ways on how to mimic a likable taste now but as the old folks say here, bitter foods are often the most effective cure for certain ailments, and I am correlating it with tablets which were bitter then after the advent of capsules, sugar-coatings and flavored syrups.

As of now, I don't have any problems when it comes to food because I eat everything especially vegetables and fruits.

yes i will. and i've been doing that since i was a child. my aunts and uncles would let me eat vegetables even if i dont want to, and they will say its good for my eyes, my skin, will make me smart, and i will eat it.
when i grew up, if i read that some kind of food is good for this ailment and i am suffering one, i'd sure will eat that.
i take herbal medicines too, the fresh ones not those in capsules and tablets, and they sure taste bitter.
if its good for my body, then i'd say go for it

I will definitely eat that food even if the taste is not good and I dislike the food since it will help me keep better and healthy. Health is wealth so why not sacrifice your taste buds for an ounce of cure.
