I close the door and lock it... lights off.. candles all lit. I watch the flicker of the candlelight on the wall, as I undress and let the warmth surround me. For the next few minutes, the world doesn't exist.. worries can't enter.. and my mind is free to roam wherever it wants to in the silence and serenity. I can think of the past, present or future.. Or dream if I want to.. and/or change the ending of any event from my life in a moments notice.. play it out each scene anyway I wish it to have been or be. I close my eyes and enjoy this time alone so much... as drift so far away as I close my eyes and relax... For the moment I am happy and at peace.. behind the door lies the day's cares.. but once the door is locked.. they can't find me. In need of nothing.. no phone.. no questions.. no nagging thoughts.. I am... MOM?! WHERE IS MY IPOD?!!!!!!! So much for my bubble bath!! Where or what is you slice of heaven on earth?

That happens every time.. or Honey can you find or iron my shirt..or scratch my back..or all kinds of different scenarios..but never fails to happen when we are trying to take a moment to ourselves and pop, pop, pop, goes the bubbles..

My slice of heaven is a warm bubble bath, a glass of champagne and a huge chocolate candy bar. Peace and quiet. If that is not possible, then floating on my raft in the pond soaking up the sun's warm rays is my second choice. Spending time in the garden, wiggling my toes in the warm dirt is my third choice.

Wow--we share a lot there....I too take my nice relaxing bath by candlelit and have incense going...and that is my bit of bliss as well. I don't have anyone though asking where is my iPod though since I'm on my own now...uh, occasionally though the only thing that ruins my blissful, stress-free bath is when one of my kitties comes in and decides to do a dump in the litter pan....then ewwwwwww....have poo smell in the bathroom then

Ahhhhh ... that sounded lovely, LS! It doesn't last long though, does it? The older I get, the more I look forward to getting into a warm, cosy bed at the end of the day with a good book. Must be a sign of old age, but some days when I get up in the morning I find myself looking forward to going to bed at night! (How sad is that?)

I don't think I have one. I don't think there is one place on this earth that someone can't find me, seriously. I can't even go pee without someone banging on the door wanting to ask me something or wanting me to come out and find something they have misplaced. *L*

Mine's that little sticky patch of tiles behind the Slushie machine at a 7-11! Sometimes you get really lucky and there's a combination of many colours there too. It's my own little psychadelic paradise of sweetness and joy. My ultimate dream is to one day find one of those display hot dogs back there too, but so far there's been no luck on that front. It's just a damn shame that there aren't any 7-11's around here.

I certainly can use a moment of silence of my world. I can imagine how it feel not to be bothered, or disturbed. I wish that I can enjoy that moment everyday of my life. I just won't want to be bothered, or troubled by those mundane worldly matter. It just make me headache, and dilemma. I wish that I had my moment of silence too.

Hi Little stormy, my slice of heaven is my terrace overlooking the sea just as it begins to go dark and the heat drops from unbearable to a hint of breeze in the air. Everything is totally silent outside, the mosquito candles are flickering, everything is done with for the day, I can put my feet up and relax with an ice cold glass of mint water and my son is definitely sleeping deeply downstairs.

Being a live-in care-giver it is 24/7...But like clock work at 10pm she calls my name Juuuuudiiiii off to the bathroom we go to do the nitely things and then I tuck her in bed!!!!!! Wheww!! The day is done...on to my computer I go....the husband is in bed, she is in bed, the animals are fed and quiet...thank God!!! A few minutes leads into a couple of hours of solitude and quiet..before I know it is 1a.m. and my eyes are getting heavy...better go to bed before the 8a.m. call ...Juuuudiiiiii comes once more....

Yeah, the computer is my escape much of the time too... I usually find something to read, or I simply write and it just takes me away for a few hours into a land where I can't be reached! I have been known to skip sleeping altogether a few times :)

So this discussion is all about your ipod. very funny. ha ha.Ü I thought i was reading a novel or something. Well sleeping, lying in an open field or on the roof while staring at the sky and having a warm bath is my slice of heaven i guess. ;) Nice story Little Stormy.Ü

Actually, it's more about my ruined bath time rather than the Ipod that I was suppose to know it's whereabouts! lol! Your slice of heaven sounds incredible! I hope that no one ruins it for ya :)

:D NicE :D It happens all the time especially if you decided to do something you _ONLY YOU_ enjoy and want to do with no one disturbing you, they just happen to come when you are almost relaxed or will start/finish what you had in mind :D

oh... that is really sucks stormy... i will be very annoyed if that happened to me... :-) anyway, my slice of heaven on earth will be my bedroom when i am tucked underneath my blanket while surfing my net and watching the TV at the same time... it feels so good and relaxing when i do that... and my hubby usually doesn't dare to disturb me when i am doing that... :-) take care and have a nice day...

I'm a water addict, so being in a jacuzzi with some good music and just relaxing would be my slice of heaven. Unfortunately I don't have a jacuzzi LOL. So my second option is curled up in a comfortable corner somewhere with a good cup of coffee and a captivating book :) BTW Stormy: Where is my ipod LOL

When my children were little it my slice of Heaven was behind a locked door too. Or, it was always nice to be able to take off and drive around the countryside chasing after yard sales and off the beaten path treasures. All alone, no one to wait for, no one to worry about having to wait for me. It's still one of my most favorite things to do alone.

I would settle for taking a pee in peace.... it's been like 18 years. I would love the weather to be nice, on a moon light night low bug count. music floatin on the breeze and a good male friend just sitting and talking and being nonsexually close. Just sharing warmth and stories of life.
