How important is a laptop or desktop to you?

Hi ikbooi! Undoubtedly, a laptop gives you an edge over desktop. You carry your laptop anywhere and do your business at your convenience. However, for working on a desktop, you need to sit in front of it and you just cannot move on. I do not have laptop, as yet, though I am planning to buy one. I work through my desk top and for the time being I enjoy working on it. Have a great day!

yup, my laptop is very important too.I pretty much value it more than my own cell phone! lol. The laptop together with the internet, I need to check my mail as a student, do my assignments plus keep going on my mission to earn money online.

My laptop is extremely important to me too. Although it's a company laptop, but we are allowed to use it for minimum personal needs. Most of times, I use my laptop for company assignments i.e. configuring test program, creating useful software/tools, compiling/analyzing engineering data and etc. Besides, I have been studying and monitoring the market sentiments and stock performance too. Last of all, online banking, internet surfing and news reading are done using with my precious laptop too!

I am very crazy with the computer and the internet. But recently I lost the real world. So, I'd like to share them equally.

Hi Ikbooi, I think we all agree that computer is one of the most important appliances. And I think laptop has more benefits in mobile than desktop. For me, I always take my laptop because as a salesman I often to travel so laptop is very important to support my job

My day begins with my desktop and ends with the desktop. Music, Pictures, Games, Meeting Friends everything is done with this masterpiece. I just cant live without my desktop

I had an old laptop but hated the mouse so I donated it. It was so old it wouldn't even turn on any longer. I couldn't live without a desktop. First thing I do in the morning is get online and read emails. Then I go to myLot to read or respond to discussions.

I have two laptops, one for Internet and one for Photoshop and photography work. I love to be mobile and I move my laptop from room to room. My laptops are old, one from 2002 and one from 2006, but are working fine for me. I am thinking about selling all computers and purchasing a new one soon. I also have one desktop that I barely use. I do not have laptap but only pc. Like you I too enjoy mylotting. It gives me inner happiness to post in mylot. But I cannot spend much time on pc as I have partially handicapped husband (due to some accident) and he cannot go out. Only I have to run around for small to big requirements, going to bank or post office attending to functions, anything and everything and I am a free lance translator so work will be there. Since I'm living with my daughter and her family my PC is my lifeline. I don't have a car or job so I can't get out much. My daughter and kids, husband watch tv that I don't have much interest in so I am on the computer almost all day and into the night.

I'm not really fond of computers before, we used to have an only one pc at home in which me and my older brothers share, and since I'm the youngest and the only girl I usually get to use it last. When I already started working, I never thought of buying my own laptop or PC as my eldest brother bought his own so that he can use it anyhow anytime, I only decided to buy a laptop when my parents went to U.S. as immigrants and has to stay there for at least 6 months, I was so close with them mostly to my mom so I was really really desperate to keep in touch.. My mom bought a laptop there and had an internet connection, she used skype to talk with us through my brother's pc in his room, so every time she would talk to me, I can't say anything freely because my brother was behind me listening.. so I decided to have my own laptop instead so that I can talk to my mom anything as the way I always talk to her.. and having a pc or laptop now became really important to me..

First, a laptop or desktop and an internet connection should always go together. lol They are that important to me, what for, online earnings of course... Hehe! But honestly I don't have my own laptop for now, that is why I am utilizing every opportunity where I can have access to internet thru other PCs.

I would say everyone here on mylot will say that our laptops are very important in our daily tasks. Most of us here depend on online income; some write for a living. Others express themselves online. How important our activities here would entail the use of a laptop or desktop.

Hi, For me, laptop is very important for my life. I have to online everyday and one day without online, I just feel uncomfortable,so I can say that I am addicted to surfing net. I will check my emails everyday,not to forget login to my facebook,sometimes, I will chat with my friends on MSN. I do have a blog and I will udpate my blog once a week, When I have some free time, I will do blog hopping. Once awhile, I will read news online.It save my time ,no need to go buy newspaper.

I don't own both. I have computer at the office. I used it for my work. It has an internet connection . it is important because i cannot accomplish my task or job if I will not be using my computer. All the files are there. Moreover, I never had a laptop, but I want to have one and I hope with internet connection too. I want to continue mylotting at home and other online opportunity too.

Well its about similar for me. My work gets done on a desktop and in the evening I come home and half the time use the desktop. Plenty of entertainment on the computer too. I could deal with a few days or so without computer or internet (I may even take some soon). Of course I could not deal without having a computer indefinitely or careerwise; it's just not happening.

hi .lkbooi computer also important for me ,i cannot without it on my working days from monday to friday.because my job need it ,all of my jobs i finish my computer. then if want to change my job,i also find a new job from the internet ,so it's very very important for me . but i'm a gril ,facing computer more time will harm my skin ,so when i need't use it won't touch ,so don't want to paly games or watch movie on the computer ,i also don't want to use it on the weekend

I never expect that surfing net has become part of life at all. These few days I cannot access internet connection totally. I call my internet service provider to get my internet connection repaired as soon as possible. I fell so sad and lost coz I can't contact with my daughter who studies in UK for nearly one week. I fell easy only if I come to know how her daily life in there. I worry the fish I rear and the vegetables I plant in facebook are safe or not.

Thank you Ikbooi. Do you have friends and family that use different messenger programs? I do. I hated having to have AOL, Yahoo, MSN, Facebook, and Myspace IMs all open to be able to chat will all my friends because not all of them have the same program. LOL. I tried using this program called DIGSBY but it was always freezing up my computer. So I switched to TRILLIAN, which is a FREE instant messaging program like yahoo n all those others, but I can log into Yahoo im, MSN/ Windows Live IM, Facebook IM, Myspace IM, and AIM/ AOL IM using ONE program, to log into them all at once, instead of clogging up my computer. It is set to auto login so when I open up Trillian and log into it, it automaticly logs into all the different IM programs for me so I don't waste precious time trying to log into so many things. I also use FIREFOX for internet instead of EXPLORER because it runs smoother, can handle a heavier work load, and can have more than one home page. I have MyLot.com, Facebook.com, Myspace,com, Yuwie.com, MyYearBook.com, Yahoo.com, and Ashford.edu (my college's website) set as my home pages, so when I open up firefox, those 6 pages open up on the same browser, in 6 different tabs (instead of separate windows).

I am going to college online, and I keep up with the news online as well as stay in contact with family and friends when I don't feel like talking on the phone. So no, I couldn't live without a computer. lol
