HTML and HTTP are very different things. HTTP is the HyperText Transport Protocol. It is described in RFC1945 (1) and RFC 2616 (2). It defines the way files are sent from a server to a client. Most web developers need to only know what it does. HTML is the HyperText Markup Language. It is described in the W3C Recommendations(3). It is a method of marking up text to show formating. For example to make something bold you would put it in bold (b) tags. It is way too complex to go into detail here. Hi runejoker, As u said before the HTTP is hypertext transfer protocol.It is a protocol to transfer hypertext requests and information between servers and browsers.It is an application level protocol for distributed,collaborate,hypermedia information system.Its use for retrieving inter linked resources led to the establishment of the world wide web.

hi mylotter, use frontpage instead of html. It is a GUI environment which will genearate html automatically. Frontpage is as simple as MS word. Try it and enjoy it
