I just made a spciy garlic beef lunch box for my husband tomorrow, it smells so good !My husband likes spciy food so I make spicy noodles, beef or anything once in a while; I cannot eat too spicy food though, I can only eat little spicy.
If I eat too spicy food, my face will get very red like a lobster, my lips will become double sized and I can feel really hot in my stomach!
What about you?

Sometimes it depends what it is & who made it. THings that were supposed to be "spicy" sometimes are not too bad. But if there's garlic in there I will have heartburn so I will need to eat it say for lunch and not dinner and will need some ice cream at some point in the day to help comfort my tummy.

I know I know! I"m getting into the garlic just not the reflux of tasting it later when I go to bed. UG! And so manythings are made with garlic, I couldn't even eat frozen garlic bread it upset my gallbladder and gave me bad heartburn/reflux.

Hello mermaidivy, I cannot eat spicy food at all. Even the slightest hot spice in food burns my tongue and lips. This may sound amazing to most, as I lived in Thailand for eleven years, and I'm married to a Thai. Once we were eating at an outdoor restaurant, and I said to my wife my food was hot. The waiter assured us it wasn't, but when my wife tasted it it was just a tiny bit spicey. We worked out that when my wife shook some spices on her food with a shaker, a fan placed behind her blew a little onto my plate.

Hey, I'm not Asian, I'm an Aussie who worked in Asia for eleven years, and married an Asian. Although I have met the odd Asian who doesn't like hot food.

I really love to eat spicy foods. I used to buy these pickles a few years ago that were pickled with jalapenos in the jar, too. They tasted so good! I really like to make my own buffalo chicken, too. Spicy foods help me out a lot when I am sick with a cold. Just eating a spicy soup will make my nose run so much that it almost can't run anymore!

I never cared for spicy foods myself. I don't like my mouth to be on fire. I avoid things that smell like they would be spicy. When I think of spicy, I equate that with hot like jalapenos. If something is spicy but not hot, I can eat that. I don't get red or any other reaction, but I do have to drink a ton of water to put out the fire. Have a great day!!!

We, that is people from India and the Indian subcontinent, like Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are used to eating spicy food. India from ancient times was famousr for its spices and trading was going on between the ancient countries like Greece, Rome, Egypt etc for its spices. I too enjoy eating spicy food and in my younger days i could eat very hot food without turning a hair. Now that i have grown old i avoid eating spicy food but like it if it is slightly hot. I don`t like bland food and can`t eat such stuff.

I can tolerate spicy food but not that too spicy because it can upset my stomach. Right now I seldom it spicy food back then I love eating spicy like traditional dish here like laing and kilawin. My mother planted chilis but only my father often picks it because he eat chilis. Some people eat chilis a lot like Indians, Arabs, Koreans and Chinese. Only Bicolanos really like eating chilis here they often used it in there cuisines.

I still like spicy food, but not as much as I used to many years ago. The same thing happens with my husband so I think maybe age as a little to do with that.
At the present I prefer food that is medium spicy over the very hot dishes that I enjoyed when I was younger.
My soon likes everything very spice and often adds a little more after the food is made.
I never really have any specific effects from eating spicy food, but my mom had to avoid it because she was like you.

hi Mermaidivy,
I used to be afraid of spicy food like you when I was very small.
I cannot forget the fist time I try to eat a spicy dish, which is kind of medium-size edible snail cooked with some sea food and that used with so spicy sauce. But, because I went to eat that food with my next-door girl, a person who is so crazy with the spicy food,so I did not want to lose my face, so I could not show my true felling, and try to express a positive attitude, hixhix.
And fortunately, I try to eat spicy food repeatedly, and from now, I really enjoy spicy food, especially bolt edible snail with chili sauce, hehe. We often go out to eat that food at the weekend, that's so great!
