Effective immediately we can no longer accept tasks promoting paid-to-click (PTC) sites. Tasks of this nature that have already been posted will be allowed to remain until they expire but no new tasks of this nature should be posted. Any violations of this rule will result in up to account cancellation and/or loss of deposited funds. It has been clarified in our tasks as creator FAQ that promotion of PTC sites in tasks is not allowed.

I am extremely happy at this step taken by mylot. The tasks tab was being polluted by worthless stuff and it is great to know that from now onwards we will get to do only the substantial tasks. This will lead to a renewed interest for all those who are genuinely interested in doing tasks. Thanks to the admin.

This is great news for an oldie like me. I attempted, but did not finish many tasks, simply because of the nature of them. Thank you, I'll be looking at tasks again soon.

It is a wise decision of mylot. Members will now be much more excited to check the task everyday because of this change. Mylot just a good site to be with and they really care for us. This new alert is a surprise and a great improvement.

What amazes me is, those tasks were always taken up though, weren't they? Unless the claims "5 of 90 left" and similar were a scam as well. I bet the posters ended up doing the tasks themselves!

Those tasks have seemed pointless to me all along. I am glad that the clarification has been established, because I am sure it is confusing to be able to post those tasks, but not in discussions.

Hi Gert...I know what you mean. I have asked a few pwoplw about this stuff privately, but once I learned about what you do with writing and then checked tasks for the same thing there was hardly anything in the tasks that really was about writing and research.

I tried 3 tasks and only got paid for 2. I have no problem with the new rule. As a matter of fact I am glad that you did away with these kinds of tasks. :)

I think everyone is happy about it, except for those who were making those things.
I never did the tasks because it's just like Mechanical Turk which I already do, but I know how frustrating it is when you spend your time on the task and then don't get paid for it, it happens sometimes there too.

Thank you for making such a valuable decision! Tasks are definitely a worthwhile feature and it's nice to see that they will be tightly structured and maintained. This is very much appreciated!

I understood that Mylot is not a place to make referrals. When people started to post referral links in the discussions, it was forbidden. Now, when people started to get referrals with tasks, this was forbidden, too. So, as I said MyLot is a place to discuss, not to make referrals. If people want to make referrals, please use only your profile page.
