I've been taught to save money my entire life. I actually bought my first car at sixteen and didn't make any payments on it because I paid in full. My husband and I have different bank accounts for different reasons. We each have a personal checking and a personal savings, and then we both put some of our personal income into what we call a house checking and savings, which goes to bills and major purchases. I also keep my real estate business bank accounts separated. As for long term savings, I have a roth IRA and my husband has a great 401K plan going with his work. They currently put in three dollars for every dollar he puts in, which is phenomenal. I completely agree that savings comes first. My husband's father and his wife, both in their forties with three young kids now, have less savings than we do at the ages of 20 and 26, and they currently don't have any retirement accounts or long term plans. It's never too soon to start saving for the future. I'm hoping to retire in my forties and keep only my business for extra monthly income--and at the rate we're going, that is completely possible. The other thing that is important is to look at your spending habits. You can figure out how much you are spending and on what--and when you do that, you'll realize that somewhere you are spending too much! Before my husband and I married, we realized our big thing was eating out. Once we realized this, we went from spending nearly $500 per month on eating out to about $100 per month, and cutting back on that alone lets us save an additional $400 per month. It really is that simple--and I'm amazed more people aren't cutting back and saving more!

You are amazing and a great saver person. Discipline and regular routine is helpful. One thing i remember from one of my boss was "Do not spend equal to what you earn or more than what you earn, and if you do this most likely you have savings" I used it as motivation sometimes but not really succeed each time because food is one of the highest expenses i have.

Thank you for the compliment. :) Food is definitely one of those things that people can spend so much money on and not realize it--because, after all, you eat it right away and it's not a product you continue to use. And that's even more reason not to spend too much on it. :)

I do saving. It is on the bank but it is not save directly through a bank. Its in a form of cooperative and i am planning to save directly to the bank when i have enough savings. I am thinking of savings for the future and the future of the person i love, Family and partner in the future. I am not good in financial handling and somehow if i am not holding the money i have, i can save, so each time i have php100 i deposited it to my savings. Preparing for the future is good and if in case you will need cash in an emergency you are not looking for someone to borrow or lend because it is hard now to borrow any amount. Each pay day that you are saving, just think of it that you are paying for something and that is your monthly or bimonthly obligation like that of your bills in water, electricity and other bills, and for sure you can have savings that will continue to growing up.

really it's a good move to save money with your earnings and later when the amount is quite big already you can invest it in a piece of lot and sell it later with a bigger price, thereby earning you a profit wherein you can use for another mch better investment. That's my plan, but today it's quite hard earning for me. I have pension, though, but being loaned due to financial needs but really saving is a great idea.

I started saving money since I was a teen. I've to thank my parents for inculcating this habit, but I've been spending quite a tidy sum on PC ugrades and on my new house. It's money well-spent anyway. I'm now trying to cut down on using my credit card (i have only one), and I'm investing in unit trust and insurance as well. No, I'm not rich because when I save, I spend too...it's more like 50-30....50% savings, 30% expenditures :) that's not much left for real savings but it's climbing up. That's why people do part time jobs. I hope to put in a fixed amount each month into my savings account - for a rainy day, which I'm sure will come :)

At the start, I was a paperboy on a couple of streets. I was making good amounts of money, but I was spending it right when I got it. When this actually caught up to me, which was about a month ago, I realized that I needed to conserve more, so I started running a video game repair service. I get very god money, and I have been saving since then. It shows that money works good when saved up, because now I can buy video games, and anything that is getting expensive with this economy crisis. So yeah, saving money is good for us, and for others.

About the only thing I can save at this point is my change but I do save it and we put at least a buck in our savings account a week. It isnt much but when you dont have money left over after paying bills it is the best some can do.

we often live paycheque to paycheque and not really saved a whole lot for our furture and retirement. i hope that we can start doing that soon, but hubby will be getting a new job shortly so he will be making more money, some of which we will definitely start saving!

Im working in a call center and we are considered as one with above minimum wager employees, when i started i spend out and have to budget whatever is left until the next payday. I didnt save money that time. When my mom got sick and we still have to find money for the hospital bills, it was really hard for all of us. After i paid the debt, accumulated during that time, that took me almost 2 years to pay, my brother have a family, so we can depend on him to pay the bills, since im single and my dad dont have a job, im the one who's left to pay the bills and debt. After that experience, i learn that saving money every payday is a must. I set aside money and my sister in law is the one holding my bank book, i just send her money to do the deposit. Right now, i really dont know how much my savings is, she wont tell me either, she just told me its still not enought to stop but with a big smile on her face. I know my savings already goes to 6 digits but i know i still need to keep going. Since i have a son who is now going to school, so preparing for college is a must. And yes, i agree when you said that saving money can give you bright future. its really true. And yes,

I was born in a middle family, so I know how to save money since when I was very young. When mother gives me some kind of money, I only use half amount of that money, and save the rest. I am glad and proud of myself because of that.

i was told as a small child that you have to save money from your first job. i did save money which make me feel safe . Anything with an amount of money will fail . Others won't help too much if you don't help yourself. i will keep saving money in the future. Actually around me there are somebody who spend all their money every month . If they don't have money they will borrow from others . i really hate this .

Ive always been a saver of my money since i was small, but its hard to hold onto it when its there for the taking. It takes a very orderly person to save up ALOT of money, i cant hold onto alot of money lol but i try to save.
