I recently responded to a discussion and it got me to thinking about something. The discussion had to do with advertising MyLot to get others to join. I remember when I invited my cousin to join…I told her about all the ppl she could meet and friends she could make, the wide variety of discussions, the things she could learn and as a bonus, she’d make a little money…nothing huge, maybe enough to take her kids out for ice cream or to rent a couple movies. She joined and she enjoys it. I always stress to ppl that their not going to get rich here on MyLot…it’s mostly for pocket change. I never, ever tell them a direct amount they can earn b/c it’s different for each person. I might make my $10 payout every month while other ppl might take 2-3 months to make it.
How would you promote MyLot? Would you promise ppl anything to get them to join? Are you up front about everything or just brush things under the rug and let them find out on their own?

Hello Ywoey68!
I am new here and I am still learning the ropes. I just found out today that I wasn't supposed to post jokes. I noticed it was gone today. OOOPS! Sorry! I deserve that for not reading all the Do's and Dont's. LOL...
I've been a member of Tagged.com since 2006. As soon as I signed up with MyLot and found out what is all about and saw my first couple of pennies, I did promote this site on Tagged. I posted on the buletin so all my 440 friends can read it. And I am promoting MyLot on my personal page too. I got two people that signed up but it's been 2-3 days and they are not active. One of them sent me a message on Tagged asking for help. I answered back to him and explained it the best way I knew how. I did tell him that he will not get rich by signing up, however that it's an awesome site with awesome and wonderful people from all over the world.
I would never push someone into signing up for something if they are not interested and I would never tell them a lie like you will make tons of money on here. I've never worked so hard for a couple of pennies in my entire life..LOL..I am so happy to meet such wonderful people. Reading everybody's opinion is great. So far, I've only seen beautiful and respectful replies from everybody.
TWO THUMBS UP FOR MYLOT!!!!
Take care my friend and happy Mylotting! :)

i hardly promote mylot to my friends nowadays because i had done that in the past and most of them rejected it... they always think that it is a waste of time and not worth their efforts after trying for some time... and i can't force them because it is their decisions... i never promise anything as well when they join mylot... it is up to them to find it out themselves... take care and have a nice day...

I just tell people that if they are going to join a social networking site anyways, then why not join one that will pay you for the networking that you do.
As far as the amount of money that you can make, I have had some months where I reach the $10 payout in one month. Then again, I have taken as long as five or six months (if not more), to reach payout before. It just depends on what I am doing otherwise. I think if you worked at it, you could easily make payout plus every month. I'm glad you were able to get someone to join. And that they enjoy it.

I would be honest and say that the pennies we earn here are the least of myLot's value but that advice we get from friends here...and sometimes strangers...can save us a lot more than we earn. I have found this to be true, as there are other ways to make money online that I never heard of until becoming a regular here.

I am totally upfront with family and friends about myLot. Never make any promises but remind them they can earn a little bit of extra money if they work at it. I struggle to earn the $10 payout each month and most often don't make it. Don't have enough time to spend here to increase my earnings. Although I enjoy myLot, others don't quite have the same interest. A few people have joined under me but none are active. Would be great if I could get several referrals who enjoy myLotting and I could profit.

I don't really promote mylot much. A few people I know know I'm a member here and a few things about it, including that I get paid a few cents a day just for my input. They also know this is where I happened to have found my feral cat, Tigger. The lady I adopted him from no longer comes here but we still keep in contact thru email. If I was to really promote it, I would definately give them the heads-up that this place is more for learning and making friends with making some pocket change a bonus.

Actually I just tell them how much fun it is....but I have a hard time getting people to sign up...Facebook actually has most of them captured for their space in time.....none of my family will do it....they don't know what they are missing!

I am honest about what you can make. Some
people make more than others, but I think
it is how hard they want to work at it. I
just go with the flow. I answer as many
discussions that I have a answer for. I
also start discussions, but I do not always
have one to start.
Have a blessed day.

Hey Twoey! I don't really promote it too much because when I tell what little friends I have (which is one) that person isn't really interested. I'm gong to try and get her to join again now that she's in college and stuff. But I don't promote it too much because people don't believe me and think it's a scam. But I love it here a lot and they have no idea what they are missing.

I have recommended this site to a few of my friends and i must say they do still come on here and lets face it we can earn money at the same time so it is a bonus all round. When i recommend this site to my friends i tell them it is a great way to find out any answer to any question as well as make a bunch of new friends. If anyone wants to get a bit of money just like with anything you have to be on it to get it and put in a bitr of effort.

The best to do is tell them payout is $10 and that depending on how much they work at it they could make payout. But the payout isn't the best part. The making of friends and giving and receiving advice and sharing funny antidotes and what is going on in life is what makes it worthwhile.

I think it's better to tell the people I'm trying to get to join myLot how things really are. There's no point in telling them fairy tales and promising treasures, because they will eventually realize how the site really is and quickly quit. On the other hand someone that knows you can make a few dollars from myLot after very much posting and still joins the site is more likely to remain a member.

I don't have many people who are interested in MyLot due to considerable time constraints. I generally make my 'money' via discussions and drawings which I upload as 'photographs'. I have one inactive person in my downline.

The social benefits are vital as I am a shut in. The few pennies I earn go to sit in my PayPal account so I can buy tiny luxuries such as headphones for music. (Keeps the neighbors from having the middle of the night blues...priceless!)

Hello twoey68,
I am here all alone ... I don't have referrals and I don't promote mylot at all. If I do, I will definitely tell the truth - about the friendly environment here, the wonderful people you can meet and at the same time, of course I will tell them that they can earn money here but honestly, can't get rich by mylotting only!

Hi twoey, I have got my best friend as a referral, but it was mainly as I kept telling her about people on here and what I was learning..also that it was the reason that I haddn't been calling her as often as I did too..she told me off etc etc, then one day was fortunate enough to get a laptop of her own, I mentioned about just 'looking' at mylot and had told her she would make friends but a small amount for making discussions and responding..aafter a lot of coaxing she eventually joined..not because of the money that is totally secondary to her same as me, but for her friends whom now she has many here, and loves being here too..her name is Tamarafireheart, now after all the nagging I got about being here and not calling her she understands and is addicted to here too, but it would be just by talking about mylot the friends we make and are able to meet in person from here that I would tell someone about yes the bit of money we are able to earn but it never makes up for the close knit friendships we can make all over the world...LoLo

I joined here out of a referal from a friend. I knew I would not get rich either but I did like the fact I could make some money here by being active. membership here as intoduced me to paypal and evething it has to ofter. I have used my paypal account allready but with funds from easlwere, I have not reached a payout as of yet. I have only recritd one person for this site so far. I simily told her the facts about the site and how to get on it, what to do on it, and about paypal. as for promoting the site, I would just simpmy give the facts and not worry about anything ealse.
