Yes, I'm back after almost a month, and I am getting my fix every day!!!I swear internet should be labeled as a drug. I was without internet from 7/18 til 8/11, and I was going through withdrawals everyday!!! You never realize how much the internet has become a part of your daily life until you are without it for an extended period of time. I almost went crazy!!!
So MyLot, are you addicted to the internet? Have you been without internet for any period of time since you've had it? How did you react to not having it?

This was inevitable once there became enough sites and sufficient variety available. The attraction is aided by the important factor that you can use it at your own convenience and are not limited to a specific time of day.
The same thing happened with television. I can just remember the time prior to a television being a common household item. Once the cost of televisions had become more reasonable it boomed in popularity, and now virtually every home has a television. We all watch television, or at least the majority of us do because we can choose our personal preference of program and watch television at any time of day.
Now that the home computer is so prolific, we can do pretty much the same, but with a greater choice to suit us. With the opportunity to shop online, research information, watch programs online or participate in sites such as this one, it was certain to become addictive.

Well in terms of a 1 to 10 rating, I'd put Internet at a 7 average, especially in this the oh so apply named "internet age". Many things revolve around the net and without it, some people certainly feel it. My own net use however puts me at a 4. I'll miss it, but I can still occupy my time in plenty of other ways. Hmm... or maybe I'm just getting more detached and steamrolled by real life.

As a shut-in with out contact with the outside world I can shout an OH YEA to that. I too would be lost with out my 'cyber fix'.

I had the same experience. After the eye operation, and the home decoration, I was struggling for a couple of months, and finally gave up by restoring the annual broad band arrangement. Online activities are part of modern life, but we must control ourselves not to be addicted to it. There are so many other things we can get fun from.
