Be thankful for the blessings you have been given...NO matter how small!!! This precious little angel was born with NO eyes to a single mother with NO money. The mother is already speaking of her daughter going to college. Yes, this child's life will be tough. However, I see one strong young lady growing up to be President!!! NO matter how bad my day is, I can see the sunrise, I can see the sunset & I was blessed with the ability to see the love in my Mother's eyes for 58 years. I only thought my day was bad until I read the news report on this blessing in Connecticut. Now I see how blessed I really am!!! Have you received any blessings today??? Share your thoughts!!!

It just breaks my heart when I hear about things like this. I am a very young Mom of three perfect children all under the age of 3. I have been so fortunate with having no problems with them. I am so lucky to have them to hold and to care for. I have heard of too many children of my close friends dying in the past year to feel comfortable. I can't imagine how other people coupe with their trials in life, but I thank God everyday for my family and for my own problems.

You are soooo blessed to have 3 healthy children!!! This is ALL this child will ever know so I'm thinking she will accept her disability & run with it...never knowing what she has missed. Children are amazingly resilient!!!

Hiya Marissa..
This is a very heartwarming story and very touching. I really admire the child for her will to live and through the mom's determination and sacrifice to not give up her child's happiness and definitely her own.
She wants her child to have the most normal life ever and that is something truly honorable a mom could ever want for a child. No fretting, no self-pity, no dwelling. I really hope that the child will pull through and become someone successful and whom her mom could be proud of.

I'm assuming that the Mom will stay honorable & therefore treat the child as a sighted child & expect great things from her. Then I assume that the child will NEVER feel sorry for herself & learn to depend on herself to fulfill her needs. Those 2 combinations usually create a very successful child!!!

I have not heard an update on this story. I can only ASSUME that they will have a loving life together. The mother seemed to have a wonderfully positive attitude. This child will have enough obstacles to take on without her mother babying her & giving her too many crutches to depend on. I know it would be hard not to help her. I remember in the Ray Charles Story his mother forced him to learn how to do things for himself & he said it made him a much better man!!!

I know that problems arise when we are in need of thinking for a solution to forwardly get rid of the problem. but they were just problems that i couldn't help but stay away, most specially if it's not my problem. I know that I am blessed because when ever i think of the problem, i always knew some one just hd worse than i am.

Am not able to view this video without installing something on the computer. Am at my daughter's right now babysitting and don't want to install anything withour her consent. Hope you understand. This poor baby. Am sure with the mother's determination and love the little girl will be successful. I know how the mom's heart must break. I am blessed to be right here in my daughter's house with our healthy grandbaby. She's almost 10 months old and just a joy to be around. How fortunate we all are to have a dollbaby as our grandbaby who is healthy and very alert.

I do understand & I don't blame you for not installing anything on your daughter's computer!!! This baby is 3 months old & has never opened her eyelids. She seems to be alert to what's going on around her...she just can't see what it is that's happening. She crosses her little hands & has such a peaceful look on her face. The mother is talking of having artificial eyeballs put in the empty sockets so as the child grows she won't freak out people looking at her. She speaks of her little girl going to college. I was impressed that the mother wasn't sitting there feeling sorry for herself or her child!!! It also made me extra thankful that I had the ability to see the beautiful sunset last night that I usually take for granted.

I agree that the baby will grow up with a lot of love & support!!! She will have abilities unlike anything we sighted people can imagine. I was impressed with how strong the mother is!!!

Your right, A story like this should makes us appreciate what blessings we have. I cried because I had no shoes until I saw a man who had no feet.

Thanks for sharing. That was a nice movie. A beautiful Mom and baby.
One thing is true, being able to see is a blessing.
But for someone who has never seen, they don't know what they are missing.
I have heard it said, that someone who turns blind after being able to see, has much more problems to adjust to the situation.
As for blessings today? I still found something to eat. That in these times is a blessing to me now a days.

She is a beautiful baby & I think it would be easier to learn to be blind from birth rather than learn to deal with being blind later on. You gave me another reason to be thankful...I didn't get to eat what I wanted today, but I did have healthy food to eat. May you keep finding something to eat every day!!!

What a positive attitude that mom has! She is truly blessed with that little angel.
I'm blessed every day. The sun, the breeze as I sit out under my tree, my sons calling or thinking of me, my dogs kissing me...whenever I have a bad day I stop to count my blessings and thank God for them.

That Mother seems to realize that she has a special little angel. I hope she treats her as a normal sighted child so she NEVER feels sorry for herself & strives to reach the highest star!!! Having no children of my own, I totally understand the dog kisses!!! Cat nuzzles & dog kisses can make the problems of the world go away!!!

at my very low moments, i always think i am the most unfortunate person in this world...
i sulk, i feel bad, i cry sometimes
...but hey, i snap back to reality and realize they're so much more unfortunate poeple than us...we should be thankful for everything we have!

Reading stories like this always makes my heart melt. I'm always reminded of how lucky my life is and although there are lots of problems and setbacks before and hopefully no longer in future, I would have to face it; by hook or by crook. To know that this little sweetie has the determination, through the mom, of course, makes me feels so bloated with admiration. I'm in awe..

Hey,
Well I don't really have that many problems, but I also don't really have that much money. But also, more money would do a lot for me, it doesn't really mean that it would make my life happy, but just more easier. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

o wow, and here I was complaining of my back hurting like it does. I think I strained or pulled a muscle. Anyways, you about made me cry. I've been blessed with what I've been given just because I've not had any major problems with my little girl and thank God for that. I have only been frustrated because I have been having trouble getting a job. Say prayer ms lady marissa. I need it.
Sometimes you think all hope is gone and that nothing could get worse. I just hope that nothing worse happens. I can deal with it now, but if something else happened I don't know that I could handle it. thanks for the uplifting. will say a prayer for you, so say a prayer for me if you will. god bless.

That's the thing about blessings though, Lady M, most of them aren't small at all, they are HUGE! We just don't always see them that way unless/until we encounter someone who has real problems or issues.
Just putting my feet on the floor each morning is a blessing. I walk, talk, see, hear, speak, and have no real serious medical issues.
I have tough times, get stressed out, feel exhausted at times, and experience periods of anger, frustration, and sometimes hopelessness. In other words, I live through the same trials and tribulations that we all do at times.
Despite these hard times - refer to paragraph two - enough said?
