How Do You Drink your Water

In today's day and age there are many different ways to drink your water. Straight from the tap, filtered or bottled. So I got to thinking, I wonder how most people drink their water.
For us, we filter our water with a Brita filtration system. I've found that our tap water has a lot of chlorine in it and smells of chlorine. When I use the pitcher it tastes a lot better to me, so I always filter my water.
So, tell me how you drink your water and why. . .

I usually drink my water in two ways. The first way is using bottled water. I find the plastic bottles very convenient to take places as well as for keeping the water cool in the refrigerator. However, if I am at home when I drink the bottles water, I will fill it up with unfiltered tap water to place back into the refrigerator to cool. I find that this way provides a nice balance between expensive bottled water and cheap unfiltered tap.

You are right about the bottles being very convenient to take places with you. When I first started drinking water regularly earlier this year, I started out carrying a 64 oz bottle with me everywhere that I went. Then, for my birthday I was given one of the reusable aluminum bottles that I carry with me everywhere. At home I drink it from a cup but if I'm on the go, a bottle goes with me.

To maintain the health, I liked to drink water. good that ripe water results in boiled or the pure water that contained several minerals of factory output

The additives that they put in the tap water here is the reason that I always have to filter my drinking water. We even filter the water in our home that we use for tea and kool-aid as well.

We are planning to get a water purifier
that will reduce 750 to under 100 contamination
I don't know the actual term but that's what it does
it's not Brita I just can't remember the brand

yes it purifies water from the tap, any tap in the house
but if your water has under 40 contamination then it's good enough
ours is 320 and another place is 750
the purifier can bring it to 100 and under
I drank the water after purification and it was the freshest ever
yeah it's tough time for us too so we have to wait until we can afford it
it's not cheap, but if we ever get sick it would cost us more to recover anyway

Is this a whole house water purifier or something like that? Just curious because I would like to get a whole house system in our home eventually. Can't do it just yet because of times being tough, but it is definitely something that I really want to do in our house.

The kind that we are thinking about is called Rainsoft. It both filters the water throughout your house and also softens it. We also have very hard water here because of all the limestone in our area. I think Rainsoft is a local type of place but I'm not sure.

Hi, doran, actually I don't drink water much, maybe that's the reason why my skin doesn't look smooth and beautiful, but any time I drink, I prefer boiled water, yes, tap water is full of chlorine, and I remember one day when I saw the movie A Beautiful Mind, I felt confused when I saw the heroine drank tap water, I just can't believe it because here we will never drink tap water...but here in the offices we always drink filtered water, we have a special instrument on which a plastic tank is put, and the filtered water is in the plastic tank, actually I don't like this kind of water, because I read that this water lacks of minerals and nutritions, if people drink this water for a long time, their bodies will not very healthy. But I have no choice, so I drink this plastic tank filtered water everyday, but later on when I have my own house in this county I will boil water on my own. I like boil water.

Hahaa, I will wait water to be boiled, because I know the water is safe, I know where the water comes from, but the bottle-water sellers could just fill the good-looking bottles with tap water full of chlorine.... Recently we've heard some of the bottle-water contamination scandals in China. What a shame! So I would rather drink boiled water.

I've never heard about filtered water lacking minerals and nutrition. But hey, you learn something new every day. I also must admit that I've never boiled my water to drink it. I'm just so impatient that I think boiling my water would drive me nuts.

That is one of the things that we'd really like to do is install a filter that is attached to our sink line. We haven't gotten around to doing that yet, but it is on our to do list. We do have a filter on the line that is attached to our ice cube maker and it definitely makes them taste better.

Hi dorannmwin, well our tap water is fine to drink so I fill bottles of it for both the fridge and freezer and usually drink it partly iced with some mint leaves in. If there is no water in the taps I go down to the nearest local spring water tap and fill the bottles up there. In the next village along they have no choice but to get all their drinking water from the spring taps outside as the tap water is too salty to drink.

Oh, I bet the added flavor of the mint leaves is wonderful. If you don't mind me asking, where are you from. I really like the idea of having spring taps available for people.

The water in our city tastes terrible so drinking it out of the tap is out of the question. We have an ice maker and filtered water system on our refrigerator. So it filters out the water and makes it taste much better, and removes impurities and everything. I drink a lot of Crystal Light so I get a lot of my water that way.

There are so many people that drink Crystal Light. I would have never imagined that it is as mainstream as it is. I'd love to have a refrigerator with the filtered water system, but again that is something that is a luxury that we can't afford right now. And besides that, I'm afraid with my two children that it would be more of a hassle than it would be good for our house. LOL.

Bottled because it just tastes better. I love mineral water. But at the house we just drink filtered.

In my expereience I sometimes find that bottled water has a chlorine type of taste to it, so that is why I don't prefer it. Of course, I'm sensitive to chlorine and that could be why I notice it when others don't.

Oh, I would like to share a story or two here. First I must say, I drink water in a variety of different ways...Such a simple thing to do, drink water, but all the ways it can be done would surprise you.
First story - Best Water I have Ever had in my LIFE - In the summer of 2004. I was working on the Canadian side of Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park, in Waterton Lakes, Alberta, Canada. One day, a couple of my co-workers asked if I wanted to accompany them up a mountain. A day out, some good exercise, I had never climbed to the "top" of a mountain before, though I had spent most of my life around mountains. So the day goes on, and as we are climbing back down, in the witching hour between daylight and twilight. I came across a natural spring. That is water just shooting out of the side of the mountain. Now I have had stream water before and I have almost always preferred clean stream water to icky tap water. But this water was absolutely phenomenal extremely delicious and amazingly cold. This was mid June after all. I even bottled some. But by the time I got around to finishing it, it tasted like the bottle I put it in...plastic water. But man was that water good. So if you are ever HIGH in the mountains and come across water just shooting out of the ground, crouch down and take a sip.
Water enhancement product. Vita Enhanced Water. I am an independent distributor in a network Marketing company, and we have one product that enhances the benefits of pure water. It is an alkalizing biodelivery system. Or at least that is what the bottle says. It increases hydration, enhances nutrient delivery and is an alkalizing agent - these statements not endorsed by the FDA. It contains water wetting agents, yes that means Wetter Water. I could go through all the ingredients and everything, but then you would be sleeping. Anyways, I put this in all my filtered and distilled water that I drink. If I get sunburn I apply it in its concentrated form topically. It clears that up super fast. If you are interested in learning more or ordering, please contact me directly.
Second Story - Well this is more of a dream. The "perfect" tap water
I have a vision in my head of the home I want to build with my family. From the activities we do together, to our vacations to the house we live it. A part of my vision actually includes recycling and processing our own water. So as to reduce the impact on the environment. If you have ever visited a water distillery you could picture the equipment they use to purify their water. I want a cistern that collects rain water from our house and the ground, that feeds the water into one of those reverse osmosis distilleries, so that all the comes out is Pure di-hydrogen oxide. No additives, no nothing just 100% water. Then I want it to run through a device that will mix it appropriately with my Vita Enhanced Water, so that as it comes out of my drinking tap, I get my yummy wetter water. But if it comes out the shower it is just pure water. Then of course the water from the drains will be fed throughout the house to various flower/herb/tree spots. To feed the green. And the water left from there will go to the toilets. Then when you flush the toilet it will go to into a self contained septic system that gets electrolyzide into Hydrogen for Fuel and Oxygen for air purification. And also processed into compost for the garden. All self contained and off the grid. Note - All the ideas come from different sources but I believe it was Me that put them together to work in that order, if it wasn't. Well I thought of it too.
Cheers.

So dissappointed is an understantment. At that time in my life I hadn't quite yet understood about anger management, I through a fit at the water bottle to be honest, thinking back on it it is really quite sad.
It would cost some to save up to install it. They are building similar things into newer green houses right now. I am building an Island in my mind, so it is not much extra to do. But yes, you would save a lot of money. But then so does capturing your gutter water into a rain barrel and using that to wash your car, water your lawn, and out door plant, and water else you would like to use untreated water for.
As for Vita Enhanced Water. I sent you a friend request, when you get that I would be more then happy to send you to an information page, and if you would like some testimonials I could supply a few of those as well.
Cheers.

Natural spring water sounds absolutely wonderful. I've never had that opportunity in my life, but if I ever do I am definitely going to have to give it a try. I bet you were so disappointed when you go around to drinking the rest of it and it tasted like plastic. Yuck!
As far as your dream water system, that would be so wonderful to be able to do something like that in your home. First of all, you would be off the water grid so in the long run it would save you money even though at first it would cost a lot to save up.
Oh, and I am definitely going to have to check into the Vita Enhanced water.

I drink both boiled water and botted water everyday. Water has become a serious problem nowadays. There's alot of place with no clean water for drink. We should appreciate water more. Water is the most important substance in our life. We can't live without water. I've saw many photograph from Charity Water, and i saw that on Africa, there's alot of people haven't have clean water for drink. It's totally different with us. We live in a modern city, with all the facility for making our life easier. But the fact is in this modern city we also usually facing clean water problem. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

We should look into sending these folks bottled water. Can you think of where to go to ask, Bottled water is sooooo cheap here. I got 10 litres for like 3 dollars the other day at Wal-mart. I know it would be expensive to ship, but I am just as sure that people would be willing to contribute to such a cause, I mean they send money to help folks with disfigurations that aren't life threatening, why not save some lives to.

That's one of the things that makes me sad is that there are places where people don't have safe water to drink. I've often wondered if you are helping to provide safe drinking water to children when you are sponsoring one of the children from a much less developed country. It would definitely be great to be able to help assure that all people have safe water to drink.

Unlike in the US, we have to boil the water that we take from the tap before we could safely drink it. We also have a water filter to filter tap water before it goes into the kettle to be boiled, so that's double protection. It tastes cleaner that way. When I'm at work, or travelling, I'd get a tupperware of boiled water in the car to make sure I'm not thirsty.

Double protection is always good protection. And if it tastes cleaner, that is even better. I really like that you mentioned you bring your own "treated" water with you when you travel.

I prefer to drink bottled water. I just don't know where the tap water comes from. Water from the tap taste like dirt. If I do not have bottled water, I would have to boil the tap water. You don't know where bottled water come from but paying for it seem to make it more better. It lets you think they took care of the water for you. Happy lotting.

I think you've hit the key reason here that so many people drink bottled water. It is a psychological thing. If you are paying more for it then you believe that it is better for you. Weather or not it actually is, has yet to be determined.

hi dorannmwin, your topic is very interesting,I like it.The best way to drink for me is to drink the water only boiled by myself, after the water boiled,I will pour some to a thermos(maybe most families have not use it),when the last water is cooling, I will put it in a big glass cup.I dont filter the water, for I think the water in our city is very clean, after boiled it is entirely safe for us to drink.

From what I've seen here, more people boil their water than I would have ever thought. All in all, I don't really think that how we prepare our water to drink it is nearly as important as making sure that we drink enought water.

i have two methods of drinking water.
the first is bottled. i bought the mineral water from the market.
and the second is cook it. ya, cook it. i take the fresh water and then cook it or make it warm. so the bacteria are dying and then i drink that water :D

I've never really drank mineral water. Maybe I'll have to give it a try some time soon. It sounds like it could be tasty. The cooking of the water should be quite effective in killing bacteria, you just have to make sure that you get the water hot enough.

In my place it is not safe to drink water directly from the tap. Just like your tap water, mine also has a lot of chlorine and sometime it is so obvious which turned the water to white as milk. Worst, during rainy season the water turned to brownish almost black in color. Very unhygienic.
So, I must filter before I boil the water. I always stock up water in bottles or pitcher.
Happy Lotting.

How do I drink water, this depends upon the kinda water available at different places and also on your knowledge of kinda water available.
In my home town I always use tap water at it is always clean, filtered and very good in taste. But when it comes to the places where you generally don't get filtered or properly processed water, I always use bottled water. When we go out for Picnic etc or travel its always bottle water which i use. But sometimes when I go to my village, i even drink water directly from Canal using hands. This always use to be very Cold and very tasty.

When we were traveling was the first time that I ever realized there was a difference between the water of different places. When I was younger I could drink the water from the tap here, but I would never drink tap water from my grandmother's house because their water tasted dirty to me. Then as I got older the water here changed to where I now can't drink our tap water either.
