How much do you depend on the net for information?

I find myself always getting back on the net to find information. as i went for a window shopping earlier this morning in my country. i looked for cellphone i am planning to buy. and my choice of phone has widened. and so i get back online to search out more information about those phones and see what are their specs. I look for reviews and even for the prices of those phones in our local malls. thankfully some offline local shops here have their website so i can refer on their website to compare for prices. i have some money saved already. i need more time to save more. but sometimes i feel that the net is not enough. like for medical topics and conditions. though they give us some good information but i think that doctors are the better source of information and sure source of reliable information. cause i feel that some information on the net is not that upto date and not always reliable. and sometimes we may understood what we have read and so it is better to go to doctors for medical information.

yes even young students use the net. and so it is a shame if we adults don't know how to use the net cause the young kids know how to use it and so we adults too need to.

when i was not using the net, i used to be dumb. now i have the net in my hands. i am pretty intelligent now. and i bet people who know me before will be surprised on how much knowledge i have gained now. i mean the way i talk will be totally different from how i used to talk before. cause now most of my topic have sense and very interesting. before all of the things that i say are quite nonsense.

Like you I usually find myself in the internet when I need to buy something to check their prices. I love conducting my own research so when it comes to subjects I'm really interested I resort to reading books and get back on the internet for additional information. When I feel something is not right about my health I go to the net to get some basic information afterward I go to see a doctor for check up and verification.:)

yeah to get some knowledge about our medical condition better research it but don't actually depend on the net as some people have mistakenly take the advise on the net as good as the real doctor's advice.

i rely on the net like 90% of informations i want or need. Like looking for a job, oppurtunities, training. Or even when im going to call for a taxi cab since i don't have a directory or list of their numbers. I search them on the net.

yes there are lots of job classifieds online. and we don't need to buy news paper actually. we just need to subscribed to those site so that they will can send notification of available jobs. though they are not online jobs. they just post their available jobs online. but you still need to apply in person. sometimes you will need submit your application online then they will ask you to go on their office to apply

Not all the net info can be trusted. Maybe we can only take 50% of what we read. The source of information is dubious as they are a lot of rubbish floating in cyberspace. Personalized attention from our real world doctor is the best choice.

yes maybe that is true. but i think it is still dependable and we just have to use our common sense i guess in judging what to believe and which are not. but generally if ask people around my place for direction of some places, i will not get any thing. at least on the net i can find lots of it and get to compare the info i got and just from that i can my a conclusion of what to believe and how to get there from the information i gathered. and so i think more than 50% of what i am getting are dependable and accurate and correct. i once asked my cousins here is the Manila Ocean Park. As it was the first time we had it here in the philippines, It is like the Ocean Park of Singapore, as the engineer from Singapore was the one who was given the job to build that ocean park. They all don't know where it is given. they thought it was in this place but i check it out on the net it was not. and the net said it is on the other place. and i asked my friend and he went on that Ocean Park and teh net was right. he he.

I do depend on the net a lot for information because it's so quick and easy! Just a couple of taps on the keyboard and viola! There's the information! It sure beats having to drive all the way to a library to get the information we need when we can just stay at home in our pj's and find what we're looking for. In my day, we had to use encyclopedias which didn't always have all the information that we needed.

yeah i remember it too before i use encyclopedias. it is quite boring to find the right page. i have to turn the pages a lot and when i to go turn pages when i have skipped the right page. and i remember on every turn of the page my eyes get heavier and i yawn each time and just after few minutes of reading i feel so sleepy cause it is so boring to read the encyclopedias but i do love the encyclopedias. cause the pages are so glossy and like that hard bound cover. but it sure is so heavy to hold and i have to put it down while reading cause my hands get tired holding it. or just put the lower end of the book on my stomach, and let it rest on my stomach while holding and reading it.

Hey, Actually when I need to find out something, I straight away flip open my laptop and pretty much use the Internet to find what I am looking for. I now always rely on the Internet for the information that I need on a daily basis. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

Hi hotsummer... I do depend on the net for lots of things. When my husband was working out of town I would go visit. I used the net to find the local malls and other things. The net is one of my friends..HAHAHA...I like to research the medical part to get an ideal if I should make a trip to the doc..It can be very helpful but can be scary in the same sense..Great discussion and you have a nice day..

yeah thanks to the net when i want to see a place i have never been before and i have not one to ask around about directions on how to get there, i usually search the net and it is not hard actually to find the right direction through the net. they are so many sites that offers maps and forums that tell us to get there. and so thanks for the information given by other people out of their experience in going in to the specific place i am looking for also.

yes i am just so much like you. books are not my best friend. i am quite lazy. but i like collecting books but i don't read them. i like them like putting them in shelf in order and it makes the house look good if we have some sort of mini library. but not to the point of reading each i have on the shelf. those are only for a show. ha ha. anyways, i do read for some short reference and information on books. but most topics and information i need are not found on my books so i just have the net to help me out mostly.

Oh I depend on the net for a lot of information. Especially when it comes to work, when we need to write articles and stuffs, the library is not enough as there is a certain limit to the information it supplies. The net can be a very useful source of information if you know where to look. Information on the net is also up to date and reliable if you look at sites which feature scientific articles, or your local newspaper site. If you don't want to buy the newspapers , and save some money, can use the site to update yourself. I agree that medical issues wise, it is safer to go to a GP who knows what he is doing instead of relying on the internet since we want to be 100% sure/

yes the net is much better than the local library. specially here you can't just get books to read in library. you have to request them and wait in queue for them to give or hand you the books you can borrow. and so it is such a hassle for me so i only do research on the net.

This is an interest topic,i have to admit that i depend on internet for searching information a lot.Nowadays, internet is much more convenient compare to other ways such as library research or consult the specialist. Then it become my primary source for researching.Although some time the information that we get from the internet may not be so accurate,we can still compare and use our command sense to distinguish the correct information. There are also other ways to find information online such as email and chatting.Mylot is a way to get information and gain knowledge too.

just we have to compare information from one site to another so that we can verify the accuracy of the given information as some people will post incorrect information and some have not been updated and so we need to see if the information is still up to date.

Well me myself always check the net every time i want to buy something. Maybe some information is not up to date, but it give me a big picture about something that i want to buy. And if its blog, i usually make a comment and asking the writter about the most update information. Most blogger usually reply my question, and off course, i always search more then 1 site to make a comparation

You know, it's funny. We were just talking about this at my house the other day. When I was younger, we had to use encyclopedias to look things up, and sometimes we went to the public library to do research for projects. Now it seems that everything you could ever want to know (and more), you can find the answer on the Internet. I know I get all of my information there! I don't think I could ever live without it.

yeah that is true. we don't have to get out of the house to find or get information. before i have to find time to get out of home to search the prices of gadgets and appliances i wish to buy in the malls. now i can know them before i even seen the products on the malls. and it is really helpful, i thought before internet is not that helpful. when i learned how much information we have here i am really glued to the internet.

yeah, like name it you got it. seems nothing on the net is not yet tackled. every thing you need to know is just here. we don't need to buy books just to find information.
