For me it is a desktop as it does not need a battery to charge.I can upgrade the desktop very easily without any problem like the hard disk and the RAM memory.I can keep a printer and sub woofer speaker permanently on my computer so that i can print my important documents and i can enjoy music with good bass beats.I can have a screen worth 20 inch where i can enjoy movies and games.

I normally go with both. But in this case, I choose laptop since it's portable and very handy to move around wherever I want to do my programming work. Compared to a desktop's setting, laptop is easy to handle and lighter. However, when it comes to the memory, of course a desktop is a much better choice...

you might say that laptop is better considering that you can take it anywhere but let me tell you other than this advantage it doesn't have any other + Points...
whereas if you compare desktop with laptop you will find many things lacking in laptop
lemme list some of them
1.You can't Leave Your Laptop Turned On More Than 4-10 hrs [Without Charging]
2.The Laptop Are Always Slower Than Desktop Even If it Has High Config Or quad Core Processor in, because laptop is poorat multi tasking no matter how much ram u add...
3.unlike laptops, you could use your computer rashly like hitting the keyboard hard...lolz !
and so on many advantages of having an desktop
Conclusion : Desktop Always Tops The List when compared to laptops.

I have both. I need both. When I am on the move, the laptop is very useful. Along with my cellular phone,it is my portable office. When I get home, I am at the desk top station. There will be file transfers ,emailing and now MyLotting.

I'd personally go for a laptop. It gives you more flexibility and with recent developments there is very little you can do with a computer, but can not do with a laptop. I just like being able to work wherever I need to be without having to find a spare computer.

Desktop simply because it is the interface I'm mostly used to. Laptops could be just as easy but lose at the point they have no mouse. The scrolling gets a bit annoying, you know.

I would go for a laptop as its easy to carry anywhere and have access to.

I'd go for a laptop any day, any time, any place.
To me, a desktop is so limited and limiting. But a laptop - you can work anywhere with that one. You can work on the beach, you can work on the rooftop, you can work in an airport, you can work when you're away from home.
By 'work', I mean - use the lap top computer for whatever you need to do...unlike a desk top computer.
So, I think using a desktop computer would mean, to me, that I am taking some steps in the reverse direction.

i would choose laptop, easy to carry anywhere you go specially if your always on a trip, even if you just go downtown its very lovely to use it since wifi is almost available anywhere, i have a desktop always updated, but now im planning to buy a laptop so i could bring it at work. if you want a laptop make sure you get the most out it, specs of a desktop is now available on laptops.choose carefully!

the first computer i owned was a desktop. it lasted me for a year and the cd drive broke down one day after warranty expired. the second computer i had was a laptop, a free gift for signing up a broadband contract. since then, i've never looked back and bought another laptop. it's so much more convenient to use a laptop. less desk space is taken up too. i can surf the internet wherever i want, without being confined to the desk. also, a laptop uses much less electricity than a desktop. i guess i'll be a laptop user forever.

hi !!
i think laptop is very useful and has a lot of advantages , the first and the biggest advantage is that laptop is potable , you can take it anywhere with you , so you can use it at any time , and it is better to buy a laptop with a long battery life .
also a laptop takes up a less space , and it can be generally more personal but desktop PC's seem more suitable to familly use .
to sum up , if you want to buy a computer for yourself which means for a personal use , i advice you to buy a laptop although it is more expensive but if you have the ability to buy it go on.
have a nice day to you

Well, both have their own uses. You may choose a laptop, if you travel frequently, use emails and work while on the go. while a desktop is more pratical if you use some high cpu resource usage softwares etc. I definetly prefer a desktop, as i work and surf the net mainly at home. Sometimes the need for a laptop arises,i may purchase a laptop if i need it, in the near future.

I happen to own both a laptop and a desktop and I feel it extremely comfortable to use desktop as I can handle it roughly and comfortably. But laptop is different. I cannot use it as I use desktop. But laptop offers portability, consumes less power and has widescreen LCD which is great for watching movies. So I prefer both.

if im at home it really makes more sense to use my desktop. i only use my laptop when im at school or need it on the go. i wanna conserve the battery for as long as i can
