Does anyone know how to record something on tv and then put it on the computer?

I attended a filming of a television show that will be airing tomorrow, Monday 26th, and I really want to have this taped. They do not offer copies of the airing and the episode is only aired once. I have less than 24 hours to find someone to do this for me! I do not have DVR so I cannot record it. I am looking for someone to either record this episode tomorrow, Monday October 26th, or guide me in how to do it myself. I want to be able to put this episode online, so do not tell me to record it with a VCR, because that will not work. Also, please do not respond to this after Monday October 26th, as help will be useless after that date. Thank you!

I think the best way is to have a TV tunor card. you install a tv tunor card to your pc or laptop. you can arrange and install this very easily. it will also have the recording capapbility and you can record this in any format on you pc. it may cost you nearly $25 to $80.. depends actully. goodluck

I agree. TV tuner cards are ideal for such thing. Recording is very easy. And TV tuners are also quite cheap, cheaper than DVD players. :)

Probably by the time you buy a TV tuner card, install it and figure out how to use it your time window will have passed. Your best bet at this point is to get a friend who has a TV tuner card or a DVR to record it for you...sorry I could not have been more help. My next add-on to my computer will be a TV tuner card so that I can do what you want wanting to do. I suppose I could buy a DVR but I do not watch that much television. I am sure if you tell everyone what the program is on what network it will appear on and what time that someone would record it for you. If I had a TV tuner card I would certainly do so.

well my friend it is possible. all you need is a capture card on your computer. as soon as you install it, you can just plug in the TV cable to the card and get the TV broadcast on your computer. then you can do the recording part. but yes, the card should be internal. i mean i am not sure if externals works.

Yo might have to buy a tv tuner card. A tv tuner card does not cost too much and available easily. Even external tv tuner cards are also available. If you have anyone who can let it borrow for the episode you can do it. Just you need to give a cable input to your tv tuner card after installing the drivers provided with it. You can watch the channels and record from it.

It seems that you have a very limited time so your best option is visit your nearest computer shop and buy a tv tuner card with capture support ofcourse, install it yourself (it's easy just do some follow up post if it's giving you a hard time)) or ask somebody who knows then have a look with the manual for instruction in tv programs recording and your ready to go, it will not take 3 hours if everything goes well, goodluck.
