Why Are You Afraid Of Putting Your Real Picture In The Avatar??

it's me - my vacation in Baguio

I have just notice and I am just being curious why 95 percent of the members of this site does not put their real pictures, that is including me.lol. What are you afraid of? This is a legitimate site. I think nothing to worry if you are going to share your picture here so it is not hard for us to imagine whom we are talking about. We might think that this is a fat woman, but in person she is sexy or vice versa. I know and I understand your privacy, and you are afraid that your picture might be use in other sites or in any fraudaulent transactions, but we just want to see you. I will post my picture and I hope to see your pictures as well so I will have an idea whom I am talking about, i would understand if you will not post it. If you will not post it,may i know the reason why are afraid of putting your real picture in the avatar??

rberon yes the reason I do not put my picture here is that I still need a tiny bit of privacy. I am not afraid so to speak, but before I show my picture to mylotters I must know tham better. Anyway I have tried to change my avatar to something better than the odd green man and failed. If I could just change my avatar without any trouble I would do so. Anyway I have saved all of you barftime as I am not a beauty anyway.

Actually, I am really excited to see you, i hope you will be uploading your picture here. I can see you in all my discussions but i don't have an idea on how does you look like. But I cannot do something about this, because you are looking forward for a privacy, which i have to look at or which i have to respect. But once you are ready to do that, i hope i will part of those members who will see you. Honestly speaking, i am already treating you here as my second parent, that is why i am very open to this site, because i believe this site is a trustable site. I am really looking forward to see you in the future.

Trustable sites do not mean there are trustable people only on the site. My question to you is why do you feel it is so necessary to see a person's real picture? Sorry, but after seeing how many predators have invaded SAFE children's sites, I do not trust ANY site to be entirely safe. That's one thing predators count on, our gullibility.

That is a very good question rberon, and one that I too have wondered about. I belong to a writing site where I use my real picture, and yet here I choose to use an avatar. I am not sure what is holding me back from posting a picture, but perhaps it is because I am still very new to this site. I am going to give this some more thought and see if I can discover why I seemingly have an aversion to posting a picture. It would be nice to see real pictures if only to have a better understanding of who you are communicating with.

I understand your hesitation, you have the right to feel that way. We are in the internet world, exposing are personal information or physical feature is really dangerous because we might suffer from scam. I am already one year in this site, but this is the first time that i have post my picture, because they are already very curious on how do i look, most of the time I give tips in the site, but they do not know how do i look like. And upon posting this picture, there is fear in my part since this is a trusted site. I think this site won't disclose any information about you. I have already tested the legitimacy of the site,so once your ready to post your picture, let us know and we want to see you. enjoy the site and see you around.

I understand. it's your right and discretion not to post your picture here. We can not force you for doing that, but once your ready, you can post it anytime. If you have some concerns about the site, if you are confuse of something, just let us know and will try to assist you with your concern, but i think, with the kind of member are you, you don't have any concerns any more.thanks for the input by the way,may you have a great day!

Thank you for your understanding rberon. I am a middle aged chicken who has only been on this site for one month. Perhaps with time, I will get more comfortable here and then I will post my photo. I will let you know if and when that day arrives

lolyou made me laugh jeanena. You are the second responder of my discussion who has posted their picture in the avatar. I think only five percent of the members who has posted their real picture here, that is already out of 100 percent. It's good to hear that you are open minded on whatever will happen. With the others, i can really see and feel that they are afraid to show their real picture since we are in the internet, they are afraid that they will be victimized by other people from other countries.

First of all I want to give my comment on the picture, the place is good, I think i want to be in that place someday, you also good look in the picture. As far as I can remember, yes you have put your real picture before in the avatar? But let me ask you, why did you decided to change it to a duck, is it a duck, I am not so sure?Is this your favorite animal? or you just posted this because of the animation of the picture?anyway, no problem with the picture since it's cute.

I now how to put the picture on the site but just cant figure out how to use the picture any help on this matter would be very appreciated. I think some people tend not put pictures of themselves up solely because there not happy with there appearance which I think is silly at the end of the day you look the way you look if god wanted everyone to look like super models you would be able to sell beauty stuff cosmetic, plastic surgery etc. Good question by the way :)

I do not use my pic for the same reason I do not use my name. The internet is always ongoing and nothing actually deletes. There are things that can come back to bite you in the butt later. Such as, jobs, school, Obamas list of enemies, homeland security.

I understand that, if i still have the opportunity, i want to change my username since i have use my real name here. but I don't think so I still have the chance to change it. But anyway that's fine, its only in this site that I have use my real name.I think no member who will bully me here. Most of the members here are very kind and very understanding. It is always good to be in safe mode. You are safe with your decision. have a nice day

Hmm...I think you belong in the five percent members who has posted their real pictures here. I am proud of you, you are not afraid of anything. And I think you should really be proud since you are pretty, i have checked your profile and I found out that you are already 41 years of age, but as upon seeing your picture, you look very young with your age. What seeems to be your secret? Maintain that beautiful image, maybe the secret that you have within yourself is that you keep on smiling, for you to maintain your baby face. Keep it up!!happy mylotting!

I am not really afraid to put mine on here either. I origianlly had mine on here for my avatar, but then I changed it the rose, to go along with my username. I think a lot of people don't want to post it becuase of identity theft out there, and also, they wouldn't want someone using their picture for other things on the internet. That is what I am afraid of, and I am not young either, as I am a gradmother. I live alone so I am very cautious what I put on the interen. However, I do have my picture on my facebook page, and nothing has happened there, so I guess I am safe. I just happen to like my rose better than my picture is all. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Oh i see.In the internet, there are lots of fraudulent transaction, its' a safe and good idea of not puttin your real picture here because they migght misuse your photos. As far as I know, pictures from facebook is also not safe, because anyone can copy it. So we really have to be very careful in all the things that we are doing, sometimes even our own family members provoked us, so we should be very careful. As much as possible, if we can keep the information to ourself,we should do it. very few people can be trusted now a days.

Maybe I will, maybe I won't. I know sometimes it is not fair for the members who put their real faces as their avatar, but how do we know that it is their real face?? I guess because that this site is opened to the whole world that make me refrain myself from putting my real photo. If there is a feature where I can set who can view my photos, then I will use my real photo as my avatar. As of now, just remember me as the 'purple butterfly'... Oh, but I might change a new avatar in future he he... So, just remember my name, at least it's my real name.

lolMost of the responses is they do not want to share their picture around the globe for security and privacy purposes. Anyway, i understand that. it's your right and discretion. Why should i push you if you really do not like, correct? But i'm sure in the near, if you already get the trust of site, you might be posting a new real picture in the site.

Hi, rberon. You look good in your picture. I have my own personal reasons for not posting my picture here. When I first registered here, I noticed that most are not doing it, so I thought I was lucky because I had in mind not to post mine. lol. If you want to see my picture, I will gladly send it as a private message to you, if u wish.

Hmmm...of course., that's nice to hear. i will look forward to see a private message showing me your picture. At least, i would have an idea now on who is the girl behind the name moneymakingtoday. But if you are also hesitant to do that, no problem with me.I am happy on the things that you are also happy. If it is really okay with you, i will wait for the picture.

It is really good to think that we are looking forward for our own safety, internet is actually not a trusted site to put personal information or personal pictures. it is a good decision for you for nothing your pictures in any site.but i believe in this site, your picture is safe, i think nobody will use it in any fraudaulent transactions, most of the members here are very friendly and very approachable.

This discussion must not apply to me, as my profile picture is indeed myself on Star-date 43917.4, Earth-date December 1, 2366, aboard the bridge of the Federation Starship Enterprise. But really, the reason why I don't use my own profile picture is mainly because I don't want to show myself, and I want to remain anonymous. Another reason would be that I think it is much more fun to use a picture of a fictional character, because then I can always point to it and say ,"I am an android."
