Do you eat the famous "Balot"? I've seen other Filipinos that doesn't eat this, maybe because of it's looks, the hair and the eyes of the chick. But it's totally delicious! Adding some salt and vinegar makes it more! Some game shows like "Amazing Race" used this for challenges, and most of them are really not into it. You should try it, I think I'll buy some later this evening. What do you think? Have you try eating it?

Hi Charmz, Yes i love eating "balot". It's healthy and yummy. I used to be scared then but when i tried it i started to love balot. You know what the first time i tried balot, i closed my eyes and had it in a dim area so that i will see the little birdie with it's hair and little bill.

hi charmz! yes i do eat 'balut'. i don't mind eating everything, from the unfertilized duck, to the soft yellow part, and even the harder white part of the 'balut'. although, i particualry like to eat 'balut' as it is, i also frequent the restaurants that offer 'adobong balut' and crispy fried 'balut'. nowadays though, i stay away from eating it because of health concerns but i still indulge in my favorite 'balut' ocne in awhile. cheers!!!

Wow? I haven't heard crispy and adobong balot, looking forward on trying those. Yup, don't eat too much especially if it's already too bad to your health, don't worry, balot won't go away so just eat seldomly.

No, I don't eat Balot, no matter how famous it is. I don't like how it looks, I can't bring myself to even look at the hair and the chick in complete form. Many say it's really yummy but I don't think I can ever bring myself to like it = no offense meant to all Balut lovers.

Don't worry, not all of us have the same taste of foods. I myself is not fond of eating a lot of fruits, I can even count them on my fingers, but I like vegetables.

Hi Friend!!! Yes, I eat "balot". I like it especially when you start eating it by just punching a hole on the top part and then sprinkle some salt in it and then slowly sip the soup or the liquid part first before opening up the whole egg. YUMMY!!! But you know what I used to NOT eat the chick part and just eat the yellow part before, but when I got pregnant I craved so much for the "balot" and yes, I especially liked the chick part... can you believe that??? Anyway, after that i can eat the whole balot already!!! LOL... I guess I didn't know what I was missing until I got pregnant... I have to go I think I hear a "balot" vendor outside... LOL

That was cool, you started to like the chick part when you became pregnant. Maybe the baby knows that balot is delicious and told you to eat the chick part so that he/she can taste it also.

I just love to eat balot. I love eggs that is why I love balot. I eat everything in the balot. I don't care about what others may say about this Filipino delicacy but this is what makes our cuisine truly unique. Balot is the ultimate street food must. But I understand that other cultures may not appreciate the delicacy because it may look to weird to foreigners, or entirely unappealing to the human eye or to the palate. Anyway, happy eating your balot!

Well, your right about that. Imagine if other cultures like Americans would eat a semi-developed chick? They'd be culture shocked!

I heard that you aren't a true Filipino if you haven't eaten a balut. So I guess, I am a genuine Filipino because I ate balut. It is not one of my favorite food. I only eat it if someone had bought it. I love the juice and the yellow part which is the yolk specially if I put salt on it. But I really don't like the chick because it's hairy, but I got to eat it just recently. I chose the small one, I don't think I like it with a big chick on it.
