I dread the thought of trying to hide all the gifts from my snoopy kids who won't leave any stone unturned persay. Then of course there's the paying for things wich I can't really afford to do, the meal is usually pushing it. But we started to sign up for help for gifts for the kids, wich I'm even embarassed to admit... even on MyLot.

During Christmas I am busy and even my whole family. But the real meaning of Christmas for me is sadness. I don't know that after 12 midnight, after the days of waiting for it, i still feel sad whenever it was through. Some family celebrates Christmas for whole day, but me after 12 midnight the day became regular for me. I am not happy but I am thankful that I have a family to celebrate with and I have something to offer for them, but I am not happy. After opening of present and eating the dinner I will watch television and let it passed by. I hope my christmas will be different now, but I guess it is stil the type of Christmas I expect. I am near to hating Christmas now.

um..yes if for only the stores return to some semblance of normalcy.
i don't like being anywhere around the major stores in december,because-i'm gonna come right out and say it-some women don't know how to behave with sales going on.
i saw a fight break out at walmart last year over frickin potholders-that was totally ridiculous.

I'm exactly the opposite of being a person that dreads Christmas, I love the Christmas season and almost everything about it. I love going shopping (when I have the money), I love sending and getting Christmas cards and I love decorating the house up for Christmas. But, more importantly than the commercialized things about Christmas that I like, I really like going and seeing the Live Nativity scene and I like telling my children the story of Christmas and also having the opportunity to spend time with family that we don't get to see very often.

Well I love Christmas theme, buying stuff and then giving them away, but honestly I think yes I will be happy when its over. Sometimes it just gets too much to be with the compromising and all.

For the most part I would have to say yes. Will be fun to watch our youngest grandbaby around a Christmas tree this year. She was too small last year to move around. I won't be seeing our youngest daughter at Christmas this year and always love seeing her happy, smiling face. This is the hard part. I do enjoy the commercials and specials on television each year. Also watching the neighborhood go up in lights and a small portion of the shopping I will do.

LOL I used to dread Christmas, but this year my husband and I are going to do something different. We are going to spend Christmas in toronto at our favourote hotel. Actually he's never stayed there before, but I've been telling him about the place for years, and we've been looking for an excuse to go there. This christmas is the perfect excuse, as things are a little "weird" at home.

Yes, the sooner the better! Don't get me wrong, I love the decorations and site seeing around the city to see it all and then around the neighborhoods and subdivisions but all the craziness and rush of people everywhere trying to get that "steal deal" on this or that, it's insane and it really takes the spirit away. I can't stand crowds and all the hustle and bustle that goes on. It's just too darned much. Besides, the real reason for the holiday is being so over shadowed by all the gift searching and steal deals and so on.

I enjoy the Christmas season though I admit it can be a bit hectic and stressful. I enjoy putting up the decorations and overall enjoying the time spent with family. I love to watch Christmas movies and help with the preparation of food, I also enjoy the food eaten or available during the Holiday Season!
The economy has caused the certain allure that the Christmas season had to dwindle, but even so I know I personally still find it to be enjoyable!

I can't wait until Christmas is done with. I have three kids and no money to buy gifts. To make matters even worse I don't have the money to buy a tree and decorations this year. Thankfully I have family that buys most of the Christmas gifts but it would be nice to do it myself.

Hi Jugs. I love the holidays and enjoy them fully while they are here. It always seems a bit drab once the pretty lights and decorations are taken down and put away for another year.
And something about the holidays as we get older make us more mellow and mindful of our blessings. We tend to take the "hectic" out of them and lean toward embracing the deeper meanings.

Christmas is the festival of merry making. Its the festival of joy.Like all the festivals in christmas also there is an excitement way before it comes. We shop for the day, decorate our homes, light up the church, prepare different types of cakes but as soon as the day arrives it seems as if it has gone.I think thats the beauty of all festivals. They spread joy and leave as soon as they arrive.

Christmas comes once in a year. So much fun is involved in shopping malls, amongst friends and realtives. Though expenditure and hard work is involved, the happiness that Christmas brings, pushes back all the negative things involved with it. Even the negative points will become plus points and make the expense as good expense and good hard work.

I am already having mixed feelings. For the last two years we did not even have a tree cause my husband bought a 55 gal aquarium that we had to put in the space we used for the tree cause our townhouse didn't have much room. I missed not having anywhere to put my decorations of which I had lots. Now that we have separated I'm living with my daughter and her family so I will have to enjoy their stuff. I'll miss "my" Christmas. I feel right now like it will be just another day and will be glad when it is over.

Oh really? You're friend hates Christmas? Reminds me of the Grinch.^_^ Havent seen that character in a while though. Anyway, I dont wish for it to be over, but I dont wish for it to last long either. I just like it the way it is. Life is already moving fast in itself. So there's no need to hurry it up because it will just be over before you know it. I think I did dread Christmas at one point because I didnt have cash to buy gifts for my friends. That year I just got creative.LOL I painstakingly crosstitched an image of a bear and gave one to each of them with an accompanying Christmas message. I am fond of those gifts where the giver has made an effort on. It makes me feel really special because they went through some trouble just so they could give it to me. I appreciate those more. Of course, I always appreciate the thought that someone did not forget me that Christmas as shown by their gifts.
Anyway, it comes every year so no need to be quick about it and no need to prolong it either because whether we like it or not, its inevitable that it will come.

I love the holiday season. Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year. Lots of people are just getting tired of the stores putting Christmas decorations out before Halloween and Thanksgiving. Another words it has become to commericalize which makes people glad to see it come and go away very fast.

While I believe in the reason behind Christmas, I do not like what it has become, or what we make it out to be. We stress out on what to do buy everyone, and then we have to fight the stores and the parking, and spend the little we have to make someone happy...all of this in a very short period of time. Not to mention the decorations we put up, and the cards we have to send, the meals we have to prepare, and the wrapping that we have to do...all in about 4 weeks.
No, I have become a scrooge and wish I could sleep the day away.
The best part of the Holiday for me, is to go to the Christmas Eve services at my church, watch the children act out the Pageant, listen to the beautiful Choir sing Christmas Carols, and come home to a peaceful warm home, with a hot cup of cocoa, and watch a good Christmas movie on TV.
I do not look forward to Christmas Day, because I am not one for tradition. My family has been doing the same thing for 50 years, and I no longer get excited for it. Some day, I am going to take that day off, and make believe it doesn't exist.
