During my childhood days, I was not trained to used blanket. Though there is a blanket available on my bed, I am just putting it aside along on top of my pillow on top of my head or on the bottom side beside my feet.
As time goes by, curiosity comes to mind, if I will feel warm when I use a blanket. Thus, at first, I feel warm, but when I was used to it, I cannot just sleep without any blanket wrap on me.
How about you, do you use blanket when sleeping? Is this a part of your means to have a sound sleep?

I always use blanket for sleeping. Even if it is warm I use it. I have this habit since my childhood. I just don't feel comfortable without blanket. My parents say that it is sign of insecurity. I don't really know all about that. But I formed this habit in my childhood and it is still me with me now.

Hi airasheila, a complete sleeping doss must include bed, mattress or mat, pillow and blanket basically. During my childhood we used to sleep on wooden bed. There are a pillow and blanket on it. The place where we live is hot all the year round. Therefore we never slept on mattress. We liked sleeping on mat only. We covered with blanket only in the cold rainy night.
Nowadays the hot weather remains more or less the same. but we sleep on mattress instead of mat, for we have fan and air con now. I usually would cover my belly with blanket. I was told that we might catch a cold easily if our stomach part is exposed to the cold air all the night as weather might change at any time. Moreover we would cooler and cooler if sleeping with the air con on
Take care and happy posting

Hello airasheila and welcoem to mylot. I can see that you are fairly new here! Hopefully all is well with you and your life! As for me and my crazy, funny world things are in line. Well at night yes I do sleep with a blanket. I am like you I can not sleep without a blanket! Seeing that I am always cold the warmth cozy feeling of a blanket is soothing and helps me get to sleep a lot faster.

I always have to sleep with a blanket on me, unless its really warm out. And even then I like to at least have a thin sheet over me. I guess I am just used to having a blanket and thats why I use it to help me sleep.

It all depends on the weather that night, if it is hot then I won't use a blanket but if it is cold then I will use it. Since now is the rainy season, it is almost everyday that I use the blanket because when it is bedtime it is always cold and I like the feeling of snuggling warmly inside the blanket. It makes me feel so comfortable and sleepy. Lol. It feels really nice!
There are times when I don't like to pull up my blanket but I almost always open it up so it would be easy for me to wrap my body with the blanket when I get cold in the morning. Also many of the times I just pull the blanket halfway when it is hot because the mosquitoes seem to be fond of biting me, Lol.
Happy tonight!

Hi Airasheila,
Personally, I do use a blanket even when it is hot (lol).
In fact, I find it hard to accept that people can not use a blanket. Even if you live in the desert, you need a blanket to protect from sandstorms!

Hi, airshelia. Yes, I normally use a blanket when I am sleeping. I went to Walmart a month ago and bought me an Mainstay's fleece blanket. It cost me $3.99. They had about five different colors. I chose the one that looked like a deep plum color. It makes me sleep better when it is cold. The fleece is like an extra layer of warmth around me. My bedroom tends to be kind of cool at night. The back rooms in my apartment are all like this. The living room and bathrooms are fine. O love the warm feeling that a blanket gives me. When I was younger, we used to use comforters and quilts. I am planning on buying my kids a blanket very soon.

I guess I gave up the idea of sleeping underneath a blanket many years ago now! Since the common quilt came into existence I think everything has changed in terms of comfort! I think that blankets are quite old now but I'm pretty sure that there are many people that still use them. I prefer a 15 tog quilt which keeps me really warm at night. I don't even think that I have a blanket stashed away anywhere! I remember them as being quite heavy and bulky at times and they also used to give me problems in terms of starting my asthma! Now I use a quilt and once I'm under that I forget about everything! Andrew

If the weather is cold and everytime i use the air conditioner in my room. Normally i dont use it but in the middle of the night especially around dawn in an open window, i cant help but use it especially for my feet. It gets colder around that time so i have no choice but to use it. I dont feel comfortable using blankets it cuts off my sleep and it feels like my body cant breath. I want my body to freely move when im sleeping, no distractions.

I never liked to use blankets in sleeping. Maybe it's just because I live in a tropical country and for most of the time the environment here is hot. My grandparents always insisted that I should use one. Well I'm an obedient grandson and followed what they wanted. In the morning when I woke up the blanket is gone. I kicked it out without knowing. Lol.

I really could not understand why you needed to be trained to use a blanket…or is a blanket something else than what I conventionally know it to be? Blankets are kept folded on the bed and if you feel cold, you just unfold and use it…we always keep the blankets folded and now that winter’s setting in, we fold and use it. Summers are no-no of course but sometimes in the monsoons when its raining heavily and the weather becomes cooler, we do use a light cotton sheet.

When I was a child, i am really used to wrapping myself with a blanket when i sleep. This is mainly because my parents trained me to sleep with lights off and i was really a scaredy-cat when i was a kid. Wayback, i used to think that the blanket will protect from the monsters that will come to me during the night time. it feels like i am safe when i am under my blanket. But now that I am already a grown up, I only use my blanket to warm myself if its too cold, but if its hot i really dont use one. But sometimes I still use my blanket when i get scared, even if its really hot.
