Do you often meet acquaintance in the street?

Hi Youless, Yes, I've met old acquaintances on the streets a few times. The strangest was when I visited my mom in the US. I was waiting for a bus in Downtown LA when I saw my next-door neighbor(in my country), someone whom I haven't seen in more than 5 years. When we saw each other we both uttered "what a small world!". It's just amazing that after such a long time, I'll be seeing her again in the most unexpected place - on the other side of the globe.

Hi youless, I live in a small rural area and meet acquaintances every time I leave the house, pass them whilst driving, or run into them on the streets, cafenion or shop. Even when I'm in town an hour away there's someone always to pass the time of day with. It means one can't just pop out looking an utter mess as someone will see you. I used to work in a city and when you pass thousands every day it is much rarer to run into acquaintances then.

You are not alone, it seems that I too have this problem or not so much of a problem but an observation, I have been in my town for most of my life, so you'd think the probability of bumping into someone I have either been to school with or worked with, although it will be just my luck to bump into someone I don't want to bump into! So sometimes I think it's good NOT to meet acquaintances in the street. I am always in a rush so stopping to talk to someone slows me down! I would acknowledge them providing they were friendly people otherwise I would look the other way!!!

I live in a small town and everyone I meet seems to be known to me. When I see familiar faces that is known to me I will just flash a big smile and move on.

Yes, I do meet a lot of acquintances in the street. I do conduct training programs and often get invited to conduct seminars and lectures as well as demonstration. So most often, as I walk in the city area, I meet a lot fo people who have joined my seminars and trainings.

Every now and then I'll see somebody that I know, usually during the holidays.

I meet acquaintances often. haha. I think Manila is such a big place and a small one at the same time. I have met an old friend in the walkway going home from work. I met a friend of my boyfriend in the mall sometime... I met an officemate in the shopping mall too, she was with a family in the grocery...

I usually do, especially when I do some shopping in those supermarkets in our small town where I work. They are mostly my colleagues. We say hi to each other when meeting each other. Then we go on with each other's buying. I think that it is because where I work is only a small town instead of a big city that I can always meet my colleagues either on the streets or in the shops.

youless, Not even once? Really? Don't mind me here, as I am just surprised here. Could it be that you are most of the time indoors than outside? As for me, I could even meet friends or classmates when I'm overseas - on the street, shopping malls or even restaurants. Sometimes, even close family relatives too.

i am in a band so there are people who knows me but i can not remember who are they. my dad is a good musician also so they know my dad more than they know me. it is strange sometimes but as years goes by it is usual already for me. my brother is quite popular too for he is a singer and a comedian all roll into one. i have a boring personality but because i have a dad and a brother who are quite popular so ther eare people who knows me buti dont know them. but i still give a smile and talk to them.

I often meet acquaintances in the street near my home,because our company is only two kilometer away,so my colleague live nearby,when I go to work or go shopping,I can often meet them,then I say hello to them. Sometimes I don't want to meet my colleagues when I feeling bad,because I don't want they know I am out of luck!

Hi lovely youless,Long time no see. how are you ? i have the same experiences as you . i seldom encounter any acquaintances in th street,Perhaps the city is large, or perhaps I have poor eyesights, or parhaps i have so few acquaintances.

The reason may be because of our busy lives and population they are also ion the move.The ones we meet we do not always remember.

Whenever I am acquainted someone. I used to observe first the crowd before I feel comfortable with them. Then when it does, I can mingle without inhibition.
