Hello friends, this topic is for those people who will celebrate Christmas this coming December 25th, i mean, people who celebrates Christmas by culture and by religion, cause i know not all are celebrating due to different religions that we have. Anyway, here in our place, even some Muslims and other religions celebrates Christmas with us so i guess this is great. We all have the same beliefs of believing in one God, and celebrate if there is a celebration whether it is for other religion or ours.
Anyway, let us go back to the real topic, have you already decided what to cook on that day? I already decided, and i will prepare refrigerated cake, salads, and some of the recipes that i created myself. How about you? Have a great day.

Hiya rjvb,
Will have a normal Christmas Dinner in the sense of it maybe Chicken with Chips and a big salad. We don´t usually have pudding as you might call it.
There is usually enough fresh fruit and nuts and grapes to go around.
For the evening maybe Chicken with greens and rice. I really am not sure what to put yet but I´m making my mind up now.
Sounds nice what you´re putting together.

Hiya rjvb,
Chicken and Chips is something I will put but not very willingly either as it means more cleaning. But yes I have as much fresh fruit as I can in the Kitchen Oranges being the typical one Apples and Satsunas or Tangerines those are my favourites specially when they are small as they are much sweeter.
Actually with Chicken and Chips I only use the olive oil once ever as too much use is toxic and encourages fat around the tummy. As for the Chicken I usually boil it very slowly then brown it in a special frying thing I have and add a sauce to it to keep it from going dry and stringy.

There are not much recipes for the foods I make, almost all of them are store bought. For my ham I will use brown sugar and pineapples for flavoring and all I do there is melt some butter in a microwave then mix in brown sugar and then take slice pineapple and place it on the ham however much you want with a toothpick...as for the potatoes, corn, cottage cheese, pickles, olives, buns, and cheese cubes that is all bought from the store and place on appropriate plates. The deviled eggs are boiled till done, cut in half and them mix the yolks with mayo and place back into the eggs and enjoyed...Merry Christmas to you as well..

I am so very lucky this year because I am not hosting it this time! My mother is doing the Christmas Day meal this year and we will all probably bring a dish such as a salad or a dessert and enjoy someone else doing the work this time! I hosted Christmas Day last year and it turned out great but it was a lot of work and stress. You sound very organised and I bet you are a terrific cook; I am not so gifted unfortunately, although I do the best I can!

Wow that was really nice, and you are right, there are lots of stress after the celebration, because of the mess LOL. Anyway, it's worth the stress, at least you see your whole family together happy and as one. Have a great day and advance Merry Christmas!

I will be making lasagna, macaroni salad, fruit salad, a meat dish called caldereta, a filipino delicacy called tibuk tibuk (in Pampanga), spicy chicken. My daughter will be baking brownies and might make a tiramisu. We also have the traditional ham and queso de bola.

Wohoo, calderata, one of my favorite food, haven't tasted tibuk tibuk yet, doest tibuk tibuk look like maja blanca? Lasagna is really delicious, and fruit salad are really a best dessert to prepare on Christmas.Tiramisu, how to make one? Can you lend me some recipe? And of course ham and quezo de bola are really great. Filipino Christmas Celebration is really different and most of all happy.
We Filipino love foods so much that is why cooking and eating is one of our specialties. Have a great day!

Hi RJ,
It will be the usual food that we prepared every year. A combination of Filipino and Italian foods. the usual bikol spicy food and pasta for the kids. salad, cakes and ice cream will add some more fun for all of us. since we will be staying in the province -- my relatives will be preparing sticky rice/puddings and suman. i will definitely a busy frustrated chef this christmas. it will be a simple celebration --but will be full of shared food as we will be having a reunion...

O Wow that is nice and all of the foods that you mentioned are delicious. Where is your province? Anyway, the combination of foods are great, full of sweets and spices. And of course, Christmas will give a stress on our pockets. LOL
A simple celebration will be a great one, if you will enjoy it with your love ones. Have a great day!

I wish you luck then. Wow you are from Sweded, and your place is very far from ours. Anyway, it's nice you have traditional foods and it will be easy for you to think of the foods to prepare and you will just go buy some ingredients.
No matter where we are or no matter what kind of people we are, what important is that we celebrate the special day with heart and with peace. Have a great day!

Im going to my brothers place for Christmas lunch. We all bring food to share. There are going to be 15 people.
I am making a cheesecake. POrobably I will do a chocoloate one with strawberrires.
I know my brother is prepasring roast meats, including turkey and pork. Someone else is bringing ham.
My brother will also roast vegetables.
I think other people are bringing a trifle.
I will no doubt, eat way too much.

That is something that me and my wife will decide within this week. We are still quite busy with work and other activities including some party preparation in the office. By the end of the week, we are both free and that would be the time to decide. Most likely we will also go shopping by that time we decide to avoid the rush of people in the groceries.

The regular lol. I can't remember all that is usually fixed, but it's pretty much the same as thanksgiving. Ham, Turkey, Macaroni and Cheese, Dressing (I think), Cranberry dish (whether it be the gelatin or something else) and well there's others I can't think of... Ofcourse rolls or biscuits.
I won't be preparing anything, don't yet know how to cook but a few things. Once I get good at cooking I hope to host one holiday a year, and if not atleast bring some grub over, lol.

That's one thing I still have to decide. As I will be the one cooking, I still have to figure our what to cook. The weekend is fast approaching. I should decide before then, so I would know what to get at the grocery when I shop on the weekend. I have to come up with at least 2 main course, 1 minor, and one dessert. It's a small family, so we don't need lots.
I'll check out this discussion later to pick up on some ideas.

We eat the same every Christmas - goose, potatoes, red cabbage, apples and gravy. Followed by ice cream and later on lots of sweets! That was our traditional ever since I remember.
A few years ago I cooked Christmas in my house - but it's a lot of work, so I am not unhappy that we celebrate at my parents house again this year!

Hello! Well, Christmas is indeed very fast approaching. In my family we also try to celebrate Christmas together especially during the eve before then. And every year we try to make it special and prepare foods that is different from last year's. And since we all were so surprise by the date, we really didn't plan yet on what foods to prepare. I would think it would be best to prepare simple and nutritious dishes since we don't have the magic hands of a chef.. The thing is we celebrate it together and we know the real meaning of Christmas :P Happy holidays to all :)
