Microsoft has this certification program whereby you can study for their qualifications like MCSA, MCP, MCSE and quite a few others. I obtained their MCP or Microsoft Certified Professional. It's well worth studying for these qualifications as you don't know where they may lead you. I like the fact that there's a lot of online learning involved. Good luck with your future studies in IT. Microsoft is providing certification in Networking and Software field. If you like to build a carrier in Networking side, you can take any Microsoft exam online and get the certification instantly. There is no basic qualification for attending this exam. All IT companies are looking for Microsoft certified Engineer both in the software and networking Area.In Networking track there are 3 certification.1 MCP Microsoft certified Professional 2 MCSA Microsoft certified system Administrator 3 MCSE Microsoft Certified System Engineer. In total you have to give seven papers to get the MCSE certification. If you write any paper out of 7 paper you will get MCP certification. On writing four paper you will get MCSA.In all these paper you have to study how to configure widows 2003 server with XP as client OS.You can also write the exam in new track with Vista or Windows2007 as a client and server is 2008.Now they change the Name of the paper as MCTS and MCITP.For each paper exam, fee is around 50 dollars. All these certification are globally valued. There is lot scope in this area.If you want a good job in the networking area you can also learn course like CCNA CCNP and CCIE.The courses are condected by CISCO systems one of leading manufactures of Networking devices like Routers and switches. In cisco syllabus yo have to study how to configure routers, switches and other networking devices. If you are more interested in this area you can get more information by visiting their official sites.I am a certified holder in both Microsoft and CISCO.Now i am working as a network Engineer in a software firm.If you have any further doubt, you can ask me.

Thanks a Lot Srinivas for you valuable inputs on this topics.
It has Helped a lot. I was looking forward to joining one of the Microsoft's Certification Program in Software. However, I am looking for some inputs and consultation about the same.
I am pleased to hear from you.
If I am not getting very personl, can I ask you one thing?
Howmuch scope is there for such Microsoft Certifications? Do we get paid good after having this Certificate with us?
Since you have already done your certification, I would like to rely on your feedback.
If you can also tell me what you personally earn and what do freshers in this normally gain, it would be very helpful.
I am currently doing a course in a private IT institute which I dont think would have much weightage in professional jobs. So I am looking for some Brand recognitions like Microsoft.
I personally have good knowledge in all aspects of computers like Web Designing, Desktop Pubishing, Hardware and Networking, Tally, C, C++, Java, Advanced Java, SQL, .Net, Ms Access.
However, I am only a newbie knowledge holder in these. I dont have indepth knowledge of any of these.
Which one do you think would be most preferable one to choose for a aspirant like me?

Being a MCP, i myself stand unique from the world of computer technicians. Its like Microsoft gives assurance that you are one of the best in that particular technology.

okay here is what your MCP is all about
microsoft certification program is a exam. (just like you give exams in schools)
if you qualify in the exam you are awarded with the title of "Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals", means basically you are given a certificate which makes every geek like me drool.
Now what is this MVP by the way?
MVP is a certification, to prove that you have passed the "quality testing" to receive a certificate from microsoft which says that "youre an expert, man !" (yea microsoft says that, so it makes us drool)
note that, an MVP in no way, is associated with microsoft. nothing personal... you understand?
and as far as earning goes, an MVP can earn a lot but from your local cyber cafes and all who look for reliable people who can look after their pc when things turn south.
