Its been years since I had an ice cream float but it is nice! I usually have it with lemonade or cream soda with vanilla ice cream. I think vanilla is the best flavour of ice cream to use because it is a neutral flavour which would go with most flavours of drink.

turst me it is delicious :D, well I'm talking about rootbeer float it just so yummy, more over because ice cream is full of calcium it is agood combination with soft drink to minimize one of the bad effect of soft drink.
softdrink prefent our body to absorb calcium, so our body must take the calcium from our bones, it coused us to suffer osteoporosist. yaik!! so when we need to consume more calcium to prevent that, and ice creram float will help

I have really liked Dr. Pepper and chocolate ice cream floats since long before you were born. I have been having then since sometime in the 1960's at least. Dr. Pepper is my favorite soda and was invented in my home state of Texas. Chocolate ice cream is just about the only flavor I eat. So the combination is one of the greatest things there is.

Hi there Ninyeh,
Welcome to Mylot. Putting icecream into soft drinks has been a treat that has been around for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid, my dad used to take my brothers and me to a place called A & W that specialized in making rootbeer floats. They were cups of rootbeer with scoops of vanilla icecream in them. My brothers loved them but I really did not like them at all. I guess it is all a matter of personal taste.

We have that here in McDonalds and Jollibee. My cousins and I used to buy it every week. It actually is nice, sipped slowly and the ice cream as the ice cream melt. Sometimes my cousin would just blend the ice cream with the softdrink. He said its a nice feeling in the mouth, your tongue tastes the sweetness of the ice cream and the soda kind of tiny bubbles bursting inside of your mouth.
There are sometimes though the ice cream doesn't give a good reaction inside my stomach. :D lactose intolerance... But I like coke floats... so... once in while even though it can have a bad reaction... I still order it.

They're OK. I've never been a huge fan of any kind of floats - but Rootbeer floats are amazing popular here in the US. And, even at places like Burger King and Wendys, you can buy ice-creamed versions of every pop they sell - coke, diet coke, orange, and so on. It doesn't taste too bad..Just a creamier version of what it would've been. It's kind of like having a smoothie version of your soda. A weird concept, but in practice - not too bad!

well, it looks yummy... but personally, i dont like it... the soda will taste a bit off if you add ice-cream to it... i love both, but having them in one drink, well it's not a top pick.... welcome to my lot ninyeh.. happy mylotting!
