Do you think that 2012 will be the end of the world?

It's not the end of the world. It's not even close to that. The Mayan calendar is a cyclic calendar similar in some ways to the Chinese calendar system that assigns each year to one of twelve animals and one of the five elements of Chinese medicine and alchemy. Thus, 2009 was the year of the Earth Ox and 2010 is the year of the Metal Tiger. In the case of the Mayan calendar, there are several cycles of differing length involved, so that each day has had its unique designation for centuries. In 2012, all the different cycles in the Mayan calendar will work their way back to the starting point on or around December 23rd. While some mystics hold that this 'reset' of the Mayan calendar is important, it's worth noting that the Western calendar 'resets' every year in the middle of winter on the first of January, and that each 'end' of a cycle also marks the beginning of another. It's what 'cyclic' means, after all. ;)

I think it's not end of the world 2012 because Only God can decide or knows how he will end our world. We cannot question his wisdom. It's only the beginning of a new era of technology & gadget. Pray always!

Oh poor kid. Well, no one really knows when the end of the world would be. Remember at first, they were saying that its gonna be in year 2000? So you know, year check, its already 2010 .

First I think you should screen the films you allow your impressionable young child to watch. That said, no, I don't think the world is coming to an end in 2012. However, if it is I am prepared to go. I enjoy my life and think the after life will be equally good.

No I do not believe the world will end in 2012. Far as we know the day may be tomorrow it may be another 200 years away. I know people have gotten into the whole mayan calendar, and many into Nostradomis predictions. No one knows the exact time when our world will change. We know that it will we just can't foresee when. Your son is too young to have such great concern... poor little guy. Tell him that no one know when the world will end if it ever happens in any of our life times. He should be enjoying his youth playing ball, hanging out with friends and such. He has his whole life ahead of him and he needs to enjoy it. He need not worry about things there are no answers for. Its a movie that shows what if... It doesn't mean that it will happen. As what have you said it's all imagination that 2012 is the end of the world. There is no one you could tell when is the end of the world only our creator knows.Let just focus on our everyday life and make most out of it. If it will be it doesn't matter anyway because that god's will and no one can change it. So start a day like it's the end of the world tomorrow make you life meaningful.

I dont beleive that 2012 is the end of the world it is just a havoc which is spread all round the world nobody knows the birth and the end of the world it is just a mere prediciton and it can be false also!

I believe that this world is of course have to finish one day. But the exact year ,day and time is only known to alimigthy God. At the same time we can take the decision based upon lots of facts and activities that have taken place on this earth in last fifty years. The most dangerous of them are the Nuclear Bombs, Hydrogen bombs and the Missile technology. It may also be popssible that another planet and haevenly body will going to hit earth in the days ahead. We sholud not worry about the earth but ourself and our life priciples.

Every thing is possible I can say, It can be possible that 2012 will be the last year in the world because all scientist are also saying the same words. Pollution of the world is increasing day by day may be that will be the reason of destroy the world.

I'm thinking so that world will comes to end in 2012. But i think after few years a day will come when our earth will face huge problem because of human interruption but not on 2012 there is a time.

It was it's structure that made it end at a specific number of years. Unfortunately for Incas, when their calendar ended last time, Cortez came and blew them all away. So they associated Cortes + end of calendar = end of the world.. Well....a thousand times no!

The world will eventually end as does everything as far as life is concerned. Do I think it'll happen in 2012? No. Just like I didn't believe the y2K scare. Just what it is a scare produced by the mass media to draw some attention. Negitive as it may be, but it sure boosted film ratings and got people talking didn't it? That's the point. Most humans exist to make money. One way to do this is to make something so horrific, or ledgndary to get people talking, to get people interested, to draw attention to their book or film. And guess what... this method works. Just like y2k this will eventually pass and people will be on the next thing.

no this is not so easy that we say n few Hollywood movie says that at the end of 2010 world will we die all earth will be full of water so this is not impossible it never be happen ya this can be right that any natural disaster can be happen.

We will never know what will happen in 2012. And i don't believe that 2012 will be the end of the world. I think the medias such as movie, books, they exaggerate with the prediction of the end of the world in 2012. Before, people said that the world will end in 9/9/99, but nothing happen at that time. Well, if that really happen, maybe we should prepare ourself from now, we should change our bad behavior and become a good person, so we will never regret our live.

Definitely not! There are still millions of years our earth has to go to. Only humanity will end but not the world! Just like in the old Ice age. The dinasour ended but certainly not the world!. Our world will only end when there is a very strong imbalance in our solar system especially in the Sun. --This does not mean that humanity will end too!--- Remember all those are just creations of humans! "HUMANS" not a God who knows for sure of the certainty of things. So don't ever waste your time on 2012 beliefs, it takes away brainz lolz... The issue is on your 8 year old child here who is very affected. Your kid is on the school age years and its normal for them to feel that way according to their developmental years. The best approach is by telling honest facts to them because this will affect their sense of "industry" if they stay always that way. I think your problem there should not be disregarded. Children who does not go through properly will encounter problems in their later years...
