If you have an extra room in your home, what will you do with it?

I am one, I'd do a room with many plants as a greenhouse, where in winter I can feel like in a garden.
With exotic plants, with an armchair, where i can sit, read, to think, or just to watch the plants and flowers, when I want to be just me, maybe just with a slow classic music.
Maybe I would like to do my painting and a workshop where i try to create, or simply do what I want, and write on the door; PRIVATE SPACE.
o if you have a room where you can do whatever you want, what you do there? Maybe a room full of computers, or simply a room where you do what you want, how you want, your style, and no one can enter them.

I would turn it into my own private space where nobody but me would be allowed to enter
Inside, I would have a desk with a computer and built into a wall, maybe a television set so I would be able to watch films or play videogames whilst pretending to work
Plus, I would also have a mini fridge somewhere in the "office" filled with delicious snacks and fizzy drinks

I will make that room a nice library loaded with books of my interest and also want it to be my music room where I can listen to all my favorite melodies without others disturbance. That will be my private room to which others entry is prohibited and at nights,i will use the room as my meditation place.

if we have an extra room in our house, most probably, i will turn it to be an office/library of my husband.
i will put all his things there (i mean things that he use for his work) so that it will be more organized and my eyes will be free of seeing these things on the living room...hehe
he just have a lot of books & papers and he also needs this space for him to study...

So you make a play room for children, but what you want to do it for you? where to stay and feel as if you were not on this earth than you.
Just for you and your hobbies, to do just what you want there

If I have an extra room, I would like to put a home theater in it because i really love watching movies in the comfort of my own home. I don't really like watching inside mall theaters because I can't avoid people being noisy during watching a movie and sometimes those people give away the ending so thank you very much. :P So.. why not bring the theater into my home? :) That would be very nice.. having a private home theater :) plus, i can also throw in a popcorn maker and i don't have to wait in line to have some more. :)

Well with a few extra rooms in our house, I use one as a craft room, one as a plant room, such as yourself but what I would really like is a room that I can work out in.
I may do this to my bedroom since the other rooms are already occupied. Simply just exchange the huge bed for a smaller one and I bet that I would have more than enough room.
Your plant room sounds really nice and spacious as well. I love to sit with the plants. Sounds like you have a great set up there. Thanks for sharing.

I live in a small apartment right now with no extra space. Prior to living here, I was in a big house and I did have a room with lots of windows that I declared as mine. I had books and a writing table, music and lots of plants and incence and candles and comfortable seating. it was MY space. At the time I had my own 4 children and 2 step children. It was the perfect little escape. Now I live with just myself and my daughter and I don't feel such a need for such an escape. Now my home is my escape and that is good enough.

If I had an extra room that could be privately mine, or privately mine and my husband's, I would buy some comfy chairs or perhaps just bean bags. I would have lots of pillows for the room, and the room would be painted in a light color so it'd be appealing to me, I'd keep the blinds open all the time and set the room to a dimmer light so that I can dim the light when I want to take a nap, or be romantic with my husband. There would be a t.v. in the room but it would be hidden, maybe behind a cabinet built into the wall. the door would be painted the same color as the wall, and be in the wall so that it would not be visible.
I'd have a mini fridge so if I got hungry or thirsty I could get something from it without having to leave the room.

We have an extra room in our house. I have kids so we've made it into a play and game room. Shelves and chest for their toys are in there. They also have the Wii and the Xbox there. Sometimes it could get messy, but it's OK as long as they keep all their clutters within the room.
Even if I didn't have any kids, I'd still probably make it into a game room.

So even if you did not have children still make a game room, this is so sweet, that means that you relax even you are adult, in a games room

If I have an extra room, I'll convert it to a library. I'll fill the room with bookshelves, desks and easy chairs so that it will be comfortable to read. I will make the atmosphere cozy so that reading will not be seen as a task, but as a form of relaxation. :-) I'll also make sure that there is a coffee maker inside the "library" to make reading more enjoyable.

i have an extra room in my house at the moment which i don't really use for anything... but i am thinking of renting it to a tenant just to get some extra money every month to help me to pay for my mortgage... and the other room has been used for a study room by my hubby to do his work and everything... take care and have a nice day...

If my husband and I had an extra room in our apartment, we would turn it into a study, or home office. We'd have shelves for all of our books, and we'd have desks in there for both of our computers. for now he has a computer desk in the living room, and I use my laptop, sitting here on the sofa, or in the bedroom.

If I had an extra room I would make it into a room for relaxation with big comfortable seating, a massage table, beautiful plants and vibrant colors to stimulate and relax the mind. Lots and lots of great smelling aromas all over the place I would have books to read and beautiful pictures of Art. This room would remind you of being in paradise, romantic and sensual all at the same time

If I have an extra room, I would like put all my books in this room and make it my library. I always dream of owning a room for study. Large tables and comfortable chairs will be in the room. More important, the room should be bright and have great view. From window I can see beautiful scenery. In such room I will not be disturbed by other people and I can focus on my work. Every day I am making this day dream. Hope one day it will come true.

Hello marianna45! If I had an extra room in my place... I would make it a very big closet! With my stuffe in one side and my husband's in the other one, and a big mirrow in the middle. That is because I would like to have more space in our bedroom and for it to look cleaner without so many clothes and shoes and... everything! I also would like to get some machines to workout... if I had an extra room because right now I've no place to put them. Happy mylotting, Libna.
