I am undecided in college right now and I am wondering what people do for a living. I don't want to have a boring job that I hate but I am wondering what other people are doing with their lives to give me ideas of what direction to choose. What is a job that you always wanted but you decided to go down another path? It seems like this is a huge choice in my life because this could haunt me for the next 30 years. What do you think?

I was frustrated with the same thing not to long ago actually. I have thought hard about what I want to do, and realised how creative I am, and how much I love art. I have chosen to go to college and study graphic art and photography. I now work at a photography studio and I love it, it's the best job I've ever had. And I've worked about 10 different jobs, all minimum wage and I hated every one of them. This one is truely the best, and the most fun.
Whatever it is you like to do, try to be that in a career. I know that even if I had a high paying job, if I didn't like it, I wouldn't go to work. If I'm doing something I love, I don't care how much I get paid, because then I will wake up in the morning with no worries about going to work.

No matter what you decide you should go into business for yourself otherwise you are just making someone else rich.

The job I always wanted was to be a mom, and I did do that. While I was a mom, with kids at home, I had a licsensed day care. When I got tired of that, and when one started school, I was a school bus driver. I have helped teach swimming, worked in a fast food restaurant, done housekeeping in a nursing home, worked as an Activity Assistant in a Nursing home, done social services in a nursing home, assisted with dietary in a nursing home. The thing I have done the most is work as a paraeducator--in classrooms with kids with special problems. Since that is not a year round job here, I also demonstrate products in the grocery store, and give out coupons, I mystery shop, I do merchandising for various companies, getting work online. Oh, I have worked as a clown just a little bit with a Christian clowning group, and demonstrated clown makeup for playdays for 3 year olds. Follow your passions.

I always wanted to have my own business. I wanted to make use of my creativity, my ideas and my powerful will.
So, after my university studies, I got connected with a couple of partners that had the same will, and we decided to start a company together. After some discussions, we started up a entrepreneur center, called Blue Chip Café, that help small business owners to get connected with partners, we also have virtual office services (like post boxes, office for rent, administrative help).
It has been a tough time, with lots of problems and money hunting, but with help of friends and partners, we have taking care of most things.
The most important thing in world is to think about what you love to do, and what you are good at. Can you make money on the things that you today do for free?
I will gladly discuss this type of questions with you!
Happy New Year!
