ok i am a bleiver if you are around more postive people then you will become more postive, but if you are around people who are always so negtive then you will be more negtive toward things and life.
i think we can get the postive engery from people just as well as negtive energy off people
i know when my dad was about to have open heart this lady came in and was doing this thing, she was like this is geather postive engery from each of us and pass it to him. well my family laughed at her except me. then i guess they were surpise that i agreed with her.
do you agree or disagree with me.

I'm definitely a believer in positive thinking and I'm not too happy about being around people that constantly have a negative outlook on life! I used to be very negative and always used to focus on doom and gloom. Things changed once I started reading self help books and listening to positive thinking tapes! I think it is true that when you are in the presence of a negative person you do tend to absorb their energy, if you allow this that is! I don't have many people in my life in anycase so I guess I have a certain level of protection from all of that! Andrew

Yes, being around negative people can lead to you seeing the world in the worst light possible in many ways. There is just something about them that causes you to be down. Causes you to be moody and focus on the negatives. Even in the good situations, there is always something wrong with these people around. It is very frustrating.
Positive people are good to be around, as they can find the good even in the darkest situation. I try and stick around these people as often as I can, even though the negative people are hard to be avoided. Still, both of these people can affect the mood in interesting ways, so I'm going to have to agree with you one hundred percent about this.

Emotions are easily transmitted among people, as when everyone is laughing, you are more likely to do so, if everyone is crying, you won't feel any better yourself.
The positive and negative feeling you feel are very real, through facial expressions and vocal tones the atmosphere around you can change in a significant way.
Negative people don't encourage other, don't create laughter, and around them you will feel restricted, uncomfortable, therefore your mood will likely to be negatively affected.
I believe we like to stick with the people that are like us, if you are a postive person you won't able to stand those negative ones, as their personality is just the exact opposite of yours.
Feelings is just like an energy, it can be transfered between people, a postive mindset will make you open hearted, and therefore less stressful. A healthy mind will help create a healthy body, I believe the healer lady you mentioned is just trying to do the same, making everyone think positive and remove all your worries and stress.

I don't know about gathering positive energy, but I do believe that we become like the people we are around, and that happy people can make us happy and unhappy people can make us unhappy. Those things are translated by our bodies to affect our health, too.

I completely agree with you, and I think there are some people that have a stronger
aura than others. Have you ever noticed that in crowds of discontented people, if just one takes the lead...that crowd can be lead into doing things that each individual might later ask themselves 'what came over me'.
Have you ever encountered someone that you were drawn to...although there really
wasn't anything special about this person.
We really should be careful who we call friend, what programs we watch on TV...maybe some evenings we should avoid watching the NEWS. All of these things
could have an impact on our moods and feelings.

Energy begets energy. Positive will beget positive, negative will beget negative.
Did you ever notice that when you are around happy people that it lifts you up and when you are around negative people, you feel a bit down? That is why they say to get away from negative people and surround yourself with the positive ones.
Negative energy also has an effect on your health, explaining the "laughter is the best medicine" quote.

yes, I do think that negative attitudes from other people can bring us down whereas their positive energy boosts us. If I find myself in a difficult situation and other people are sad and pesimistic for me, I feel worse about the situation myself. So, I try to stay upbeat, which means others feel they dont have to be serious/sympathetic/downhearted which, in turn keeps me positive.

Yes I totally agree ,I call it the transfer of energy theorem quite similar to the one in physics except that this is human energy .I do believe too that you can have positive and negative energy and you suck up what is in your environment .Consequently if its positive energy that is in your environment then that is what you will soak up and the same goes for negative enrgy

Yes I would have to agree with you too.. There has always been a mixture of both in my life, sometimes more of one side then the other.. Taking a look at it when the negative type of people were weighting heavy on my life, my outlook was rather gloomy... Now I am trying to surround myself with positive thinkers... And if I can I just avoid the other type all together.. One very important thing that my aunt taught me is "life is full of choices"... Even with the influences out there, you can choose to be one way or the other.. Granted in some situations/circumstances the clouds are overwhelming and its hard to see that silver lining but it is always there.

It would take a lot of struggle to survive among negative people if not been avoided. The negative thoughts will go on discouraging you and as a result you will loose confidence and direction of your interest. On the other hand Positive people always encourage you to take charge of a situation or activity. My last boss was a negative minded people.I was given the responsibility to learn a design software within a month which is not easy. Then he gave me a job which requires a lot of experience to accomplish. As a result I missed the deadline. And there were all hell unacceptable statements,I had to listen. He rebuked,he scolded for nothing.I was not that I was reluctant.I always tried to discuss with seniors. But they've lots of job to do.They helped me as far as they could. On the other hand my new boss sits by me and I'm working with the same software. And what he says that you've already learned a lot within a few time and it takes a lot to be an expert. He understands me and gives me jobs that I can do with the experience I have. And this year I've been awarded the best employee of the year.So my advise is to leave negative environment and search for a correct mentor. Thanks for starting the discussion.

Once I was meditating with eyes closed. At a certain point I felt so much vibration on my face that it began to tremble. I suddenly opened my eyes and saw a person was nearby gazing on me with anger , then she began to scold me....
Our body as it passes through refinement of the SELF we do feel the vibrations which are positive and negative. Even when you hear the music the vibration of the sound echos in your body.
