Which do you prefer traditional camera (this is the old camera which is using a negative film) or a digital camera?.. as for me it depends on how will i used the shots. If its for archival purposes then i prefer the traditional because when it comes to quality traditional is much better than digital cam. But if your in a hurry to see the print for your shots then obviously you will go for digital camera.. how about you mylotters which do you prefer.?

I love the traditional cameras. I envy one classmate of mine who own one.For me, it elevates your status.LOL. Tradional cam is more costly than that of a digi cam. So, having one is really awesome.

I don't think its being obsolete makes it expensive. I believe that the features of a traditional camera are way too meticulous that they can give the best quality to a photo. The best feature of a traditional camera that we cannot get from a digital cam is when we try to shot moving objects. I wish I can own one.hehe

Digital Camera. I fell in love with film and doing the process on my own, the films are very expensive these days very few places stock them. The camera stores are closing down because of places like Argos and so even the specialist places are dying off, so I bought a digital camera and I've fallen in love with this. It's much easier but I miss the buss of develop the film.

I feel sad that the camera stores are closing. But i have a positive outlook that in the future film will be in the air again but i guess with some renovation or something. Maybe the film physically or the chemicals to used in developing. Lets wait and see..

Digital is so much better over a traditional one. You can see the pics in a digital one easilym but for traditional one you have to wait until the photo is developed to see the quality of photo. Digital photos need not be scanned to computer and this adds to the advantage.

Digital cameras have replaced the old traditional cameras using negative films. Digital cameras now have better picture qualities than traditional and can be processed in the computer instantly. I can just say thank you to old cameras for the old pictures that i've got.

for me it depends, i like to use both, but depends on the purposes too. sometime i use traditional camera when i'm goofing around, and use it with all kinds of different techniques / angles. but digital camera is much more easier to use, for family photograph or such things.

I prefer digital camera because this enables you to have more shots and delete those you think are not perfect and you will not waste any film. There are professional cameras nowadays that are digital. My friend just bought one recently and the image is great. It is as if you are using a traditional camera. I think the secret for a good picture is not only the camera alone, there are also issues on paper to be use for printing. If you really want a good picture that will last, I say invest on papers and ink because aside from a good shot, a good print out also matter.

aside from the camera, paper used in printing, photographer is also one of the reason in having a good shoot. we cannot determine with our own eyes the difference with a 3 Mega pixels and 4 mega pixels its very little. but there will always be a difference between them. you can see it with their file size. analog camera will never be the same with digital camera. thanks for the comments anneshirley..

Hi, I prefer the digital camera any time. I'm no professional, and sometimes take bad shots. A film camera would mean that I'd be wasting a lot of shots, whereas with a digital camera, I can just delete the bad shots!

I would really prefer to use the old "traditional" cameras because personally, I think the quality is much better. But digital cameras are easy and compact, so I usually use my digicam for near-daily use. It comes in handy when there are those impromptu dinners with friends. Traditional cameras (especially SLRs) are too bulky for daily use. :)

i agree with you jeska87 if it is an ordinary used or an ever day used digi cam is beneficial but if you want quality you should go for traditional since traditional is analog where you can see every little attribute even a pencil mark but with digital the attribute is lessen. thanks for the reply..

Hi elamel, I prefer using a digital camera rather than the traditional one. With digital camera's you can take a lot of pictures while in traditional you are only limited base on the film. Also with the technology nowadays it is much better to have a digital camera, you can easily share pictures with it online and it's easy to transfer pictures unlike traditional ones, you have to scan them after printing them out. But I like polaroid camera's xDD

Digital for sure. They're so convenient. If you don't like the picture, you can delete it. They're easy to edit, fast to get the prints, and simple to save. You also don't have to worry about buying the film, different lenses, or any of that nonsense.

There is some confusion here, Elamel. Unless you have a medium format or larger camera, your film based images are not of the same quality as the photos from any current digital SLR, or even some compacts. it has been 5 years since the resolution of a standard digital SLR exceeded the resolving power of film, and full frame digital cameras now capture more detail than even most professional lenses can deliver! As to archival purposes: prints from any digital camera, made on quality papers with appropriate printer inks or dyes now have a rated life of 200 years. Add to this the capacity of the digital image to adapt frame by frame to changes in white balance, sensitivity (ISO rating) and you see that it is a superior medium. But more than this: the fastest film is rated at about 1000 ISO; digitals can now shoot in near dark at ISO ratings up to 102,400. and the digital beast is a lot more flexible, with faster shooting rates (partly because it doesn't have to transport film between shots - film breaks and also builds up static charges if it is run too fast through the rollers. Then there is the ability to shoot video.... I could go on, but I think the point is made.

Digital cameras are more convenient as for quickness and easiness. I don't think traditional cameras are better as for quality. If you have a good digital camera and some talent, you can shot very good photos. Professional digital cameras are the best, but not so convenient as for the price. But I guess they will become cheaper in time. So professional digital cameras are the best, especially for professional photographers.

of course i want digital camera coz you can easily check if the picture is good or not so you will take it again unlike tradional camera that you need to wait til it will develop then only to find out that you dont like the image. and in digital cam you can only choose which image you want to develop and you can also edit them within the cam or computer coz you can transfer it but in traditional you have to develop all of them and pay for them.
