Dollhouse that is. I am currently working on one that my dad built for my daughter. It was given to her in 1991 for Christmas when she was 9 years old. When my ex and I divorced in 2004 I didn't have room for it, so he kept it stored in his garage. Some of the shingles are missing, but I have replacements. I'll be putting in all new carpet, and new furniture. It is a 3 story Victorian style dollhouse. It will probably end up staying at my house lol, unless she has a little girl, she's pregnant with her first and finds out tomorrow. If not, my other granddaughter will be able to play with it at my house when she gets a little older, she's only 2. I was wondering, have you ever built a dollhouse or owned one?

Hi,
Good day!
When I was still a kid my youngest sister, cousin and I love to play with our doll house. Aside from the doll house we also had a tree house built by my father for us. It was fun playing there with our dolls. Aside from playing with our dolls we would also pretend to cook and then prepare meals. We sometimes invite our neighbours who were of the same age as ours. We would prepare a tea party inside our tree house.
The treehouse is no longer there when I went home during summer vacation when I was still in College. The tree was already cut down due to it's very old age. However, the memories and fun we had lingers.

Sounds like you have great memories. It is still kinda sad that the tree had to be cut down.

My dad signed and dated the bottom of it. There is a small removable roof on one room, I might sign and date the restoration of it when I get done. I'm just glad that basically it is in excellent shape, just needs a few minor things. And I take after my dad in being creative and loving things like this. Do you still have the one your grandfather made?

Of course when i was a little girl i had a doll house. Playes with that doll house for hours. It was a really big on and i remember it having so many little pieces. It has furniture and all that stuff too. It was great and i know it got used a lot till i grew up and wanted to play with other things.
I remember it being three stories and having a lot of pink on it. It was great and if i still had it im sure someone in my family could be using it.

My daughter played with this one for hours. I'll be building new furniture for it as some of the original furniture was in disrepair.

I didn't have the chance to own a dollhouse in my childhood days, my parents couldn't afford it. :) But I did have a doll though lol!
Anyway, I loved giving dollhouses to my nieces and my friends daughters in the past months because of the beautiful designs. Now that I have my own 3-year old daughter, I haven't bought her one yet. Maybe it's because there are so many small pieces that might not yet be suitable for her young age. Come to think of it, maybe I'll try and check out the department store to find one that may fit her.
Sorry I think I wasn't a great help ey? lol
But I think that dollhouse of yours is quite a sight - just by judging at your description... Good luck!!!

Thank you, I'll have to post a picture of it soon. My granddaughter is only 2, a bit too young for this dollhouse, like you said with all the small parts and pieces.

My mother bought and I built a doll house for my niece. When my brother moved to Colorado, I drove up and picked it up from Lewisville, Texas and brought it home. Its out in one of the sheds (the white one as a matter of fact.)
I just don't have a place to put it inside that would be safe.
