Just to look smarter or fashionable/well dressed up, some people wear non-prescription fashion glasses. Forgive me for the term, but sometimes it pisses me off at people who wear fake glasses. They just don't know how hard it is to wear real prescription glasses. I mean, be glad they have 20-20 vision. Wearing non-prescription glasses when in front of the computer is an excuse but to show off? Nahh..Do you guys wear fake glasses?

I think it's becoming a fad nowadays. They considering it part of their wardrobe. More like a fashion statement. I see a lot of people wearing not only non-prescription glasses, but also glasses without lens. However, I don't really think that they're trying to show off or trying to look smart. I think they use it more as an accessory, to spice up their outfit, or just because they look good in it.

I do the opposite. I don't wear glasses just to show off. It may sound funny but I actually need glasses but prefer not to use them. I find them uncomfortable and I feel better without them. So, till I go blind without wearing them, I'd rather just keep them in my bag for some serious dizziness before I wear them.
I don't know why people would do such a thing. You could 'look' professional in many other ways than wearing glasses. One could be dressing up professionally, another one would be by the way you walk and talk.

I wouldn't take such measure just to look professional. I don't want to look like one anyway. I want to be comfortable and glasses are definitely uncomfortable. Even if I need to wear one I won't wear it. I would probably use contact lenses if i have to.

Hi Oxio,
How I love to be able to read without using my glasses, it's cumbersome, inconvenient, and it makes me look older than my age. So I don't understand why some people would fake it, just so to have a certain look. I used to have 20/20 vision, and I was so happy with it, until I approached the age of 40. Now I can't read things the way I did when I was younger. So my (unsolicited) advice to those who have good eyes yet, take care of them and don't cover them with anything that's fake.

No- I actually need the glasses- i wear a reading glass- "300".. I don't really mind those who wear glasses just for show- it's a trend today. But I do get your point, and I think they'll realize it someday.
