When you're ill and in pain are you longing for someone's presence? Do you miss someone to be by your side and give comfort when you feel bad or ill?
I'm longing for my ma'ma's hands that make me feel fine her words of comfort, her kisses and hugs that sooth my pain and distress.
How about you are you longing for someone that in his/her presence you will feel fine??
Glad to hear from you again my fellow myLotters.Thank you and Happy myLOtting!

for one reason, i have no way to ask for her care when i get sick. she already passed away so there is really no way for this. wife is here beside me since the time we start living together, away from mom. but i can never recall thinking about mom if i get sick. yes i still remember how she gives care to me when i got sick. but time passed, and a lot of things changed. i miss her more when i have big problems. and she was the only one that i had talked to about one of the greatest decision i have made in my life.

Yes I long for my mother too. Whenever I have pain in the back, as soon as I got home I will call for her and will tell her what i feel. She will say she will massage me later and I feel okay even without her doing it. Whenever I feel bad like terrible ill, i call for her. Our mother can't resist us, she will be there anytime we need them. That is the reason I don't want to live somewhere without my family. Because I can't imagine when I am ill and there is no one who can help me to ease the pain. A friend can help but they are not my true blood to feel the real pain I have inside. It is only a family member can understand the real pain we feel.

For me it is actually my father. He was trained as a physician's assistant, so he really was the one that took care of my siblings and myself when we weren't feeling well as children. When I was eight years old and I broke my ankle he was the one that made it not seem so bad. He was the greatest comfort that I had in my life. Whenever I'm not feeling well now, he is really the one that I would love to have comfort me, but it isn't possible. I miss him all the time but it is worse when I'm not feeling well.

I do long for someone's presence when I am ill or in pain. And yes, I do miss someone to be by my side, it's my father who had passed away 10 years ago already, and of course this time, it's my husband whom I miss so much all the time, especially when in pain/illness.
I think, everybody needs somebody not only during bad times. Though, of course, we do find extra love from our love ones when they take care and pamper us when we are sick. It's just sad sometimes, that they couldn't be with us physically but of course we know that they wanted to be by our side. It's so depressing when you need extra energy/strength even we are sick, just to take care of ourselves. Anyway, that's life.
Please be well.

Yes I am longning it forever even though my Mom
is in heaven already. Mom's care is different
than anybody. It has power connection to what
we have feeling or pain. I got easily well if
she is with me pampering, checking and asking
what I wanna want to eat . She used to give
what I wanna eat, drink and have in my pain.
EWven if it is hard to have she will find ways
and means to get it just for the request of me.
I cannot forget these things to my mother so
very loving, caring, and understanding.

Whenever I'm ill I'm just looking for a medicine to ease the pain and not looking for a comfort and someones presence...but if I'm alone and feel lonely maybe that's the time that i'm looking for someone to comfort me.,or just a sympathy and that means a lot to me...

Hi cloud,
when one is ill he/she always wants some one who loves him/her most , to be with him/her. In most cases it is mother, wife or sister. because ladies express their love and care in better way.
As regards me, I prefer my wife to be next to me, when I am not well.LOL

I never believed that mom would have that same magic touch as grandma to heal and cure anything because it was always grandma who was there while growing up. It took awhile for me to appreciate my mom and all these because grandma passed away one day. Living in this part of the world you may get seriously ill by just a bite from a mosquito or any other pest for that matter. So, one day I was seriously ill with a high temperature. My vision was blurred and my head kept spinning. When I woke up, glad I did, I saw my mom smiling but tears in her eyes and noticed how hard she tried to hide them. Since then the presence of my mom means a lot whenever I'm sick. So mom has that magic touch too. Obviously the shift now is on my own family. Being there when I'm sick makes a lot of difference. It makes healing a lot easier...

Yes, I always long for my mother beside me when I'm sick. One time, I was living away from home and got sick. I felt so bad, and my roommate and other housemates didn't care for me as my mom would. I just wanted to cry and wished my mom was beside me. If she was with me, she would cook me nice foods and bring it to a table beside my bed. She would also buy me fruits to eat so I'd get well soon. And she would ask me what I'd want to eat, so it makes me feel like a princess being spoiled rotten with foods, just so I'd get well very soon.

When I'm not feeling well, I usually keep to myself. For instance, I won't want to be at work where I'll be around everyone, exposing them to whatever sickness I may have. It depends on what kind of sickness I have, but normally I just like to be left alone and rest. It would be nice to have my husband around, but I know he would probably be at work if it were a work day for him. It's always nice, though, I agree with you, to have someone around to get you a drink or make you some soup. Just so you don't have to get out of bed and get it. Sometimes you'll get sick to where you'll be really hot or really cold with fever, and it's best to stay in bed where you're comfortable. It's nice to have someone who cares. Even if my husband wasn't home when I would be sick, it would just be nice to know that he is having compassion for me and that he cares that I'm not feeling well. Just knowing that someone feels sorry for me and cares for me makes me feel that much better. I agree with you that no one can care for a sick child better than mom! I hope you're feeling better soon, my friend, if in fact you aren't feeling well today. Keep up the good work!

hi cloud,
just like you i am always longing for my mom's presence. not only when i am physically sick but most of all when i feel bad emotionally. there's just something with mother's touch and care that can easily ease the pain we are feeling. when mom is around, we feel more secure and loved and we feel like everything will be alright.
nothing can really compare with the love and the comfort that we get from our mom.

Hi Cloud,
Aside from my husband who is always there when i am sick, i always long for mom's presence. i even called her name in te midst of having a high fever. mom's care is the best. and my husband is making up for my mom's absence who's in the province and coming over is definitely hard for her since she's already old. but i enjoyed her presence when i gave birth to my two sons. she and papa were there and supported me all the way. she managed to do some shifts wit my husband in dressing my wound. 2x CS for my kids. se stayed for three months straight to take care of me and my son.
