First off let me start by saying that I do not condone stealing in any way shape or form, I'm strictly speaking in hypothetical terms, for example do you think the character robin Hood was good or bad for stealing from the rich and giving to the poor in the film?
I've always sort of rooted for robin hood in past films as well as present ones, though I haven't seen the newest version of the film yet, but I'm almost certain I will still root for him even though stealing is wrong robin hood was helping the less fortunate through his actions, I think maybe he could have chosen a more honorable method to help people but I still rooted for him.
What are your thoughts on robin hoods actions, and did you or do you root for him in the many films made about him?

yep apples stealing is wrong, but Robin Hood I agree with his stealing...
Bad people hoard money and food when the poor tries it hard to earn something...
So I think Robin Hood did a nice job...
Robin Hood was a English folklore hero...In my state we had a Robin Hood his name was Kayamkulam Kochunni http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kayamkulam_Kochunni,Legends on his life are part of Indian folklore...
Happy myLotting...

Hiya apples,
According to what is written about Robin Hood he was stated a common thief but of course that was written by Judges and the like of those times. So you would only expect them to write that kind of thing anyway. If he took the money from the rich who had stolen it from the poor. I donĀ“t condone what he did. But the very same People who robbed the Poor would have left those People to die of starvation anyway. Life was worth nothing then.
If he did give the money back to the same poor People without keeping any for himself then he is only doing the right thing although it is stealing.
However it might seem biased as I like Robin Hood characters anyway. The Rich had no right to treat People worse off than themselves in that way.

I saw him as good when I was young and didn't fully understand but now I realize his story teaches the wrong thing. Why couldn't he politely ask for a donation? I'm sure his intentions were well meant but what he did to achieve his goal was wrong plain and simple. Those rich people earned that money and it wasn't fair of him to just go and take it.

Doing good things doesn't necessarily means it will erase the bad things that we did. In case of Robin Hood, most will agree with him. Corruption in the palace, abuses, killings and poverty, almost all the bad things that you can imagine a kingdom/government can do is in that story of Robin. But it is still wrong to kill and steal and later do good by sharing it. If they stole it from you are you going to stole it back? if they someone you love, are you going to kill also? then if that is the case, then let us eliminate the RULE/GOVERNMENT. If the ruler is corrupt change the ruler. If we don't have rules, we will live like animals. thank you

i think good and bad,,,
GOOD because he donated to the poor people
BAD because the wealth is the result of robberies

hi,At those generations when Robin Hood was written ,the times were such.Rich were not bothered of the poor and this person was helping the poor from taking the riches of the rich and transfering to the needed. However nowadays we dont need such robbin Hoods ,the governments are doing the work of equal rights to all.

Its good to know that Robin Hood shares to the unfortunate ones the things he stole from the rich. I consider this a form of charity. And charity for me is something good. But we must remember that "the end does not justify the means". Although he has good intentions of sharing but the fact that he stole those riches, still makes him a thief.
