Growing up I wanted to be a lawyer because I wanted to defend innocent people. But going to school had so many choices of any and everything you wanted to be, but one thing they did not teach in school or tell you was that, "yess you can do these thing buit to pay back student loans was going to cost a grip and not only that it says on you credit and hender you from alot, some people are not as lucky as others to recieve grants or what not. So when you are looking at out of pocket expenses, its a grip thats why alot of people change what they wanted to be, to something they can afford, and some have it to where they still can hang in there and finish what it was they wanted to finish. But everyone situation is different.

I was around 10 when we started to learn the first foreign language at school. Since then I have always wanted to learn languages. I did not know exactly what profession to chose - any job where I could use my language knowledge was suitable for me. Fortunately, my zeal and zest for languages have never vanished and done lots of things one can do in this field from translating to teaching. I have learned six languages and today I have been working for a global company. Admittedly money is an important factor when you decide on a career, but it should not be the most important one. If your intention to become a lawyer is strong enough, do not give it up! If you are determined, you will certainly find a cost-efficient solution; taking out a bank loan is not the one and only answer. (In fact, this is the last thing I would recommend.) Looking back to my work experiences, I am convinced sticking to one's vocation is the key to be successful at one's job. You cannot sustain in a career for more than a few years if you have to do something day in day out you thoroughly dislike.

I wanted to be a writer because I like to tell stories. I liked to read and sometimes I thought I would write the story like this instead of that. I also wanted to be a pro football player.

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a scientist. Dunno what kind of scientist. However, as time flies, I realized that it is not my passion. Now, I wanna be a doctor. Doctors and scientists are quite the same, but doctors diagnose and treat people. I wanna help people who have grave illnesses.

This may sound a bit strange coming from a girl but I wanted to be a tattoo artist when I was little. I'm not sure why I just knew that I liked it. I can't draw worth anything so obviously I'm not a tattoo artist. I do design my own but I just tell the artist what I want and they draw it up for me. My mom wanted to be a teacher and she just went back to school last year to finish up and get her teaching degree.

when i was a little i wanted to become a doctor or an airhostess but i became an engineer. we never know how the life is going to change and how our mindsets would change with time, as we grow we know more and we learn whats good and whats bad and try to adapt things which we like and benefit us.some struggle and find the things which want it and some get it easily. it all depends on time to time and also our fate.

As a child I always wanted to be WONDERWOMAN! .:-) With all her powers not to mention the super slim figure and angelic face ( I adore Linda Carter so much), I think I could be invincible! Too much watching tv.:-) Then, as I was growing up and seeing the real world, I wanted to be the boss of a corporation.LOL. However, I was not able to realize this because I wasn't taught the basics of how to be successful in a corporate world. Plus, I also did not know what path to take in order to achieve this want...

hahaha... Its such an interesting question you asked. I just went back to my childhood after reading this question.lol ;) It's really funny to learn back those all things. well as a child , i wanted to be many things. There was not any perfect idea for me, and i wanted to be all that impress me. I was so much crazy about an Indian super hero, Shaktimaan(Powerman), and wanted to be like him. I used to think when i'll grow up I'll be like Shaktimaan and save people and fly high and have fun. Then I grew up some more and my priorities got changed as usual, lol ;). Now I wanted to be a movie star, obviously my mind was hacked by Indian superstar,Shah Rukh Khan. I was so much fond of him and always wanted to be like him. then i grew up more and started realising that being a superstar or superhero is not such a good idea for me. So i switched on to be a doctor..as my parents always me too. With no option .. I grew up more and found medical studies so boring and I felt i'm not born to be a doctor.. well i had interest in science.. So I just set the final goal of my life of being an Engineer. It was my choice though my parents still wanted me to a doctor. But i was firm in my decision and here i am pursuing the 3rd year of my engineering in IT. well thats my story.. thanks alot buddy..walking2010 ..for you made me memorise all my chidhood joys.

honestly when I was a kid a I want to be a super hero or something like the character in dragon balls, I can't help it I am just a kid my imagination are so high. But if in terms of career when I was I kid I want to be a sea man so I can travel around the world, I really want to travel around the world since I was I little and until now that is my dream. But its really expensive to do that now that I am in the right age I realize that it is going to be hard to achieve my dream but I am not loosing my hope. There are poor people who become rich and success around the world so there is no reason and it is not impossible to happen that to me right. as long as a make action and I don't loose my hope. When we are kids things are too easy for us we never think of the problem and everything all we know is to play and dream and think that all of our dreams will come true in the future when we are grown up but the reality is things become more complicated and step by step we are realizing that our dreams are to impossible until we meet something new and way for that dream to be possible. I know lots of people forget their dream when they were young because of the reality in life they face but for those who don't give up they are the one who succeed and achieve their dreams. So I suggest that even if we encounter problem and impossibility in our minds, always think that there are people who did the impossible and make it possible so there is no reason for us not to achieve what we dreamed.

I wanted to be an artist because I loved painting so much. Though as I continue through my elementary school years, I wanted to be a: lawyer, doctor, and eventually a pharamacist. In high school, I finally decided to be an architect, but it is going to be a hard road from now on if I decide to stay with this. Though I rather choose something I would enjoy doing rather than something I'd be fend up with (though I plan to do dual major in business as well).

I wanted to be a Vet because I love all animals. I actually did my Co-op in school at the SPCA as a animal care assistant for 6 months. That was when I realized this was not what I wanted to do. I enjoyed the job but it broke my heart when an animal would need to be put down or didn't make it. :(

Hi Walking, Because my brother had a congenital heart disease and I saw him suffer and he had 2 open heart surgeries in his lifetime (and thank God he's still alive), I wanted to become a Cardiologist, yes, not just a doctor, but a doctor who specializes in heart ailments. However, I realized early on that my parents cannot afford it, so I settled for a 4-year course that has now become my career. Fortunately, I am happy with my decision but there is still that nagging feeling of "what if" and what could have been if I became a "doctor of hearts".

When I was young I always portray the role of a Teacher, I don't know I just love doing what they do. Maybe that's because I was influenced by the people surrounds me like my mom is a teacher, most of my aunts are teachers, my grandparents too are teachers. But when I reached college, I did not took Education as my course but opted to took Business Management. As time passes by you will then realize the things you really love to do for yourself. I think I made a right choice, but somehow I also wanted to try teaching since I've done tutorial job before and it is quiet fun, especially when you are working with kids.

In primary school, I wanted to be a teacher, including my classmates. Because teacher is the only vocation that we touch. Growing up, I don't like it any more. I am confused and don't know what vocation I want to take up. I admired to be a lawyer or a doctor at one time, but the dream broke. Now, I become a trading saler, but I don't like it very much, only for the life. I think again and again, but nothing can be found. Hope one day, I can have my own dreaming house.

I wanted to be a police officer, then a herpetologist, then an astronaut, then a science journalist, then a screenwriter, then a diplomat, then an archeologist. I finish high school in 6 months, and I still haven't chosen between the arts and the sciences, let alone which field! Oh well, I suppose I shall just look forward to the surprise.
