One language in the world?Would the world be PEACEFUL?

Personally I think the world would still be the way it is if we all spoke the one language...there would still be racism & there would still be religious battles...the only difference in the world would be that we could all understand what everyone was saying without having to learn another language.

Please read the book of Genesis 11 where GOD dispersed the people and gave them different languages so that people will not understand each other. Unless men obey the Holy Scriptures there will be no world peace. GOD is the GOD of this universe but GOD gave man free will to choose.

I laughed at the idea of one race, which race would you want that to be, I am white, and American, I don't want to be Muslim, British, Mexican, Spanish, I just want to be what I am, I have nothing against other races of people, that is what makes our world what it is. But to try and make everyone alike will not bring peace, no one thinks like the other person, just because you change the monetary unit, does not ensure peace same as making them the same color or religion, peace comes with respect for the other person, and we have seen as in 911 that some people don't care about others. They want what they want and will kill to get it. There will never be peace in the world, although I would like to think one day it would happen, there is too many out there that want control and will do what it takes to get it.

no there will still not be peace. Why do you think there is no peace in this world. It is not because of different culture, language, religion,etc. It is because we humans can't see others progressing ahead of us. We can't see others progress. We can't see others winning the race. We can't see others making money. We just can't see others being happy. There is a disease called jealousy that is in every human being. When there is already one religion called humanity all over the world then why do we want to make different cultures one. We are already one. One God have made us and we are his children.

I would like to think of one heart. One heart that would transcend any race, language, culture, religion and color. Would that ever be possible? Maybe not. Not in our lifetime perhaps. But we can start. Because the answer lies in our hearts.

i like the world like this^^ with different languages, different races. but i think we should all like have our main language but also learn other one since little so with people that dont understand our language we could still understand them^^ bcs i feel that sometimes we lose the opportunity to meet someone sweet deeply bcs the language barrier^^ but thank god now almost everyone speaks english and barriers are not that high like before^^

I do not think so. With only one language, people can still abuse each other, get hurt by words, get angry over incorrect use of the language. Perhaps with multiple languages, the world is more peaceful because if we do not know what it is, there is lesser chance of a dispute. There will be peace only if everyone loves and understand and wish the world to be peaceful

Yes, the world would be more peaceful and this is what John Lennon said in his songs and in the way he lived his life. But I have to ask myself if man has to evolve a lot more before this ideal attitude can exist in the world. Evolution is slow, but it happens and many things have to be worked out between each of us, and we each have to be at peace with ourselves before we can really be at peace with others. _Derek

It is a great idea but I don’t know if the same language, colour, currency etc would be enough to prevent wars and hatred. I don’t know if human nature can be changed unless people learn to care for themselves and to love others from there. I believe all the wars in the world stem from a lot of individual’s lack of self worth and love.

This is such a nice thought but very hard to practice. Most of us will agree that – there are many reasons behind problems. Its language, cast, religion, economics, geography and many more, if we can have everything common except the location, there would be nothing bad. We do respect each other’s religion but practice our own. We do understand some other languages but want to practice and speak our own, what if there is just one language which everyone understands. If we achieve at least 50% of this thought, this world would be far better than it is today

The caption, "One language in the world", reminds me of the story in the bible we know as "Tower of Babel". According to Genesis 11:1 – 9, the Babylonians wanted to build a tower "with its top in the heavens." Angry at their presumption, God disrupted the enterprise by confusing the languages of the workers so that they could no longer understand each other. The tower was left unfinished and the people dispersed over the face of the earth. Tower of Babel was not an object of worship. In Genesis 11:4 it is written, "Then they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth." Don't we see there is a serious infighting between people speaking the same language? There may be people of the same culture, of same race, same religion, and same color yet they fight. People fight not due to language, culture, and color differences. They fight for the same reason neighbor fight each other. Jealousy and intolerance is one of the important reason people fight. The penchant to show one's own superiority over others is yet another reason.

I can not surly tell you that world will be peaceful because language don't make noise or war. But some difficulty will be solve. Now i stay in different country and there language is different then ours so i need to learn that which is difficult. But if the language is same then we don't need to hard work more.

melmabb your a good person.i do actually want peace like you.. peace is happiness, every soul want peace, happiness,success,to be love,caring and concern those are expectation in every human being. but in reality there is always 2 sides in lives , it's nature laws , PEACE and WAR , GOOD and EVIL , angel and demons.. we are living in a complex world melmabb... if world peace is a dream for you then you should make an act.. start with small things. a single dream and effort can make a big different in lifes. the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

Different language,race,religion and culture are just spices to make our lives more meaningful.And for humanity to have PEACE we must have Love and respect for each other.Amen.PEACE!!!!!!

One of everything must bring monotony among people! How it will be, if a garden posesses flowers of one variety? A market, having shops of one type of item? Or a restaurant with one item of food? - Certainly boaring!! So also, we may expect many languages, multi-culture and many religions! It interprets oneness among many! I don't think that language is the reason why there is war. It is our motive and way we deliver the words that make people argue and be at war. We can have peace depending on our ways

well ,your wish is so so soo good but anyway it's little difficult to achieve ,the language is one of the reasons but i think the reason is that the people are too greedy ,they want more land ,more people ,more treasure,then those things make them to fight with the people who are from different race with different language ,color . So if the people are not so greedy ,the peace will come soon ?I dont think so ,it needs more time ,we cant see the finnaly result.maybe they are still in war when the earth is going to end her life.

Human being has been priviliged with brains this makes us supeior from any other living beings.This at times creates the most confusion.People starts using brain in unwanted things and thus peace is gone in the world.Language is just one of the criteria it cant bring peace.

There s no peace n the world n this generation. Synthetic systems & social conventions have set up this generation 2 care more 4 getting what they want than 2 have love. People compete more with others instead d working with them. Peace can only b found n the soul who walks the path f peace. But a person f peace can not b weak because the selfishness of men will just destroy u. Even animals have defense against predators. I have learned to prepAre for evil but encourage the good n others.

No humans are meant to be different diverse and so peace must be made with this diversity without it it will only last a short time before the need to be different will overpower this false peace. We must accept these differences, accept each other and understand that we are in this together. One language, one culture, one race, one religion, one monetary unit, one color only creates stress and this stress will be released. We are a group of individuals.
