I want the windows open aswell as the doors to make the house cool, but during the day i get flies in and at night i get all the other insects in.I have been zapping them all again tonight, with fly and wasp killer, aswell as sitting in the dark so that they are not encouraged to come near me.I hope that when i get up in the morning that they are all dead.

ARe u staying in the wild with lots of plants or trees around?? hehe ^_^ IF not, that's why all those insects are flying into your house for some warm and shelter, as they dun have any places to live in.. haha Moths do no harm to us, and all they need is a place to be safe from other predators.. PLus insects does not know how to differentiate a house from other abandon buildings etc.. All they know is about survival, and being curious about things.. Much as they will fly into your house, but they will tend to leave too

Tell me something that I could never figure out. Why is it that there are no screens and screen doors in most European houses. This goes for Britain, France, Germany and Switzerland and perhaps other countries as well. In addition there are no air conditioners either. Although I was in Verona Italy and in Spain a few years ago and stayed in small inexpensive hotels and lo and behold I did have airconditioning much to my relief. As far as window screens and screen doors are concerned I always receive blank stares when I ask why they don't install any of those. Yet insect repellant and sprays that poison the air and people's lungs seem to be used quite liberally. When I visited the Ukraine a few years ago the nights were quite warm and the windows wide open, yet the room was thick with the smell of insect spray which wore off during the night. I slept with a thick housecoat on all night long because if I did not I was still covered with mosquito bites in the morning. I don't want to sound smug but here in Canada where I live our lives would be totally miserable if we did not have a screen on every window and screen doors as well on the front door, side doors and balcony doors. If a fly still gets in from time to time there is going to be a major hunt to get rid of it.

I have little flies that fly around my screen all the time and I don't know where they come from ever. I guess it's bug season everywhere.

I am so glad to hear that I'm not the only person that has been having a huge problem with bugs this year. It seems like the population of bugs around our house has doubled or even tripled since last year. Not only can I not keep flies out of thie house (every time I let the dogs out at least one will come into the house), I also can't go outside in the evening without being completely attacked by mosquitos. It hasn't been very fun at all, but at least I do have my trusty fly swatter to keep the population under control to a certain degree.

Insects are rather crafty. You have the door open, even for a few seconds and they sneak their way in, to cause all sorts of misery. Flies buzzing around always is something that irritates me to no end. They tend to land right where I am working and annoy me. I have to be quick and squash them. Otherwise, they go off into the house and do whatever they do. Its a bit of a pain to be honest. Insect spray does help get whats already in the house. However, it tends to only work for short periods of time. Also, those Asian beetles are a pain as well. They always tend to fly off when they take the corn down around here and they think my house is some great meeting place for some reason. I'll never understand insects. All you can do is spray and hope for the best, but they tend to be craftier then we give them credit for.

This weather is bringing them all out. The bad thing is that the mosquitos are the most bothersome here. You cannot even stand to be outside, day or night. I hope you have luck and they are all gone.

i hate any type of insects..they irritates me..specially now that it's rainy season so we get a lot of them everywhere..well i always manage to keep our doors and windows closed but if my mom want the doors open i always make sure that the screens are closed..atleast the air could get in but a handful of insects won't..but then sometimes they can still get their way in..maybe because they are so small they can fit themselves in any small openings..well i guess we can't avoid them..they are a big part of the life cycle..

I don't like flies at all. I don't keep my window open at all. I don't hardly go in and out of my apartment either. I remember two years ago, I had to kill a lot of bugs, especially the flies. The flies just kept on coming on my kitchen window. I would kill about 8 of them and then the next hour, more flies will be right back up there again. It is like it is a swarm of flies. Yucky!! You may need to get an Insect Repellent Outlet. This will ward off any bugs that you no longer want in your home.

Don't you have screens? If you do maybe they are not tight enough. This happens to our often and we have to adjust them.

Hi jugsjugs! We sometimes have them here as well. You got it right. They are attracted to the lights. We usually put a bucket of water on the floor beneath the lights and watch them dive in toward the reflection without using baygons or the like. You may need to change the water frequently if there are just too many of them.

I have the same problem with moths being attracted to indoord if my light is on and the windows are open. Lavender is good for keeping insects away from your home, plant it near your doors and windows

Insect love the heat, I have found that when it's summer here in Australia (or even a warm winter day) I have loads of flies in the house - I keep a door open so my dogs can come in & out as they please...it's annoying but the only way to keep them out is to have the screen doors closed & make sure all the screens on your windows have no holes.

You have to have screens on your windows and doors if you're going to have them open. Insects are attracted to light and also to smells...like the smells from cooking or foods that are out while you're cooking. I love having my windows open when I can and also love sitting on my deck and front porch, but there are more bugs than there are humans so you have to have ways of keeping them out and of combating them.

Thats why they sell screen doors, so you can get the air in but not all the flying bugs that are attracted to light and will most definitely fly in if theres nothing in their way to stop them. Im sorry you had to go to war with them.

Oh I always use Baygone or Morteen or some other insect killer. Either it kills them instantly or they simply vamoose.

There must be a good verdurization around your house. Always insect like to live in places with many trees and grasses. Isn't there window screens sold in your hometown? I think they can help you to block the annoying insects outside.
