Tick Tick Tick

I hear every little noise. I am a very light sleeper. I've always been that way. I need total quiet to fall asleep. In my daughter's room she has a clock on the wall that makes a loud ticking noise. I don't know how this doesn't keep her awake all night but it doesn't. Sometimes I'll lay down with her for about 20 minutes until she goes to sleep and the ticking drives me nuts. Do you have any loud clocks in your house and does the noise bother you?

I needed an alarm clock and I found this cute giraffe clock. One night I used it and then yanked the battery, the ticking drove me crazy I don't have to have perfect silence, in fact, I have a fan and ocean waves cd and now my air conditioner running, but I can't STAND "tick, tick, tick!"

And I know folks that find that "ticking" comforting! Then there are those who put them in with new puppies... sounds like a good way to have a chewed clock to me...

Sounds like my daughter's clock. It's a Minnie Mouse clock. I don't know why people make clocks that are noisy.

I hate loud clocks!!! But other than that, noise usually doesn't bother me when i go to sleep. I remember we once had a loud clock in the living room and It drove me crazy so I took out its batteries. You should tell your sister to do that too.

It's my daughter that has the loud clock. I actually wound up taking the clock down and put it in the hallway closet.

I have a clock in my living room that chimes but i'm use to it & don't pay that much attention to it. I wouldn't want it in my bedroom tho. I like quiet there to.

Does the clock chime at every hour or every half hour too? That would drive me crazy. I remember my grandparents had a clock like that when I was little. They also had a cukoo clock which made me go cukoo whenever I had a sleepover there.

I don't have any noisy clocks but my air conditioner and my fan in the bedroom are noisy. It doesn't bother me but when my mom was here it bothered her....she could hear the air conditioner next door kick on at night. Luckily she had ear plugs course she knows about my noisy air conditioner

That's how I am when we go away and stay at a hotel. The noise from the air conditioner units drive me crazy. Thank goodness for those ear plugs.

I am the very same way that I need complete quiet to fall asleep. I'm also a very light sleeper. I think I became even more of a light sleeper after my son was born. He was premature and very fragile as an infant. I heard his slightest whimper or movement all night. It was pretty difficult getting any sleep. Ever since I always hear the slightest sound at night. It can be quite annoying for me and my husband. But, it is also a good safety benefit! I once slept at my mom and dad-in-law's house and they had to turn off their living room clock before I could go to sleep. My husband and I were in a bedroom upstairs and the clock was on the wall in the living room and I could still hear it!

Noise doesn't bother me unless it's the kids making a ruckus when I am trying to sleep. But light does. If the light's on when I am trying to sleep (sometimes hubby is working on something and needs it on), I just cover myself and use my arms to cover my eyes and go off to sleep. I am a sound sleeper and once I am asleep...slight noises and light does not wake me up. I suppose I am like your daughter in this respect:)

That bothers me too when the kids are being noisy and I am still trying to sleep. Glad you are a sound sleeper though.

I like white noise like a fan or even the air conditioner running at night when I am sleeping. I actually prefer it to the silence, but something like the tick, tick, tick, or a clock would drive me nuts.

We have the white noise machines too that the kids used to use when they were younger. Now they can sleep without them.

I'm very unlike you. The least little noise wakes me up but I can't get to sleep in silence. In summer I have a fan and in the winter I have a white noise machine to help me get to sleep. I still hear everything that goes on in the house while I'm sleeping and I wake up if there is a bump or a noise but I can't go to sleep without some sort of noise.

When our kids were younger we used to put the white noise machines on in their room too. I didn't want the TV or other noises keeping them awake. Now they don't even use them anymore.

Thankfully my bed room clock is digital and it dose not make noise its a good thing because I'm a really light sleeper too, and I cant stand the slightest noise while I'm sleeping in fact I make it a point most of the time to turn off any devices that make noise at night before bed.

Don't even get me started on the loud TV shows. Why does every man seem to need the TV blasting all the time?

I am incredibly bothered by noise. I haven't been able to sleep without ear plugs for 8 years now. I also am very sensitive to light and will wake up as soon as the sun comes out unless I have dark blinds.

Aww! Loud clocks scare me. You should get a new one that doesn't make noise.
