I do not like hospitals that much as i think that you can pick up more germs from them, even if you are just going to pop in and out of the hospital. This week i am dreading as i have to be at the hospital for a five day course of iv iloprost and i will have to be there by 9am and stay there until 5pm.They are such boring places to be, aswell as that i hate the thought of having an iv.Thats this week,as in starts tomorrow, then next week we have to take our son to his Kidney clinic in a different hospital for all his scans aswell as other test aswell as i have to go to hospital again for a check up for a different clinic.

solution: you just believing "pick up more germs from them" you cannot lead life comfortably in life everyone has to face the problems. you are not alone to face these problem in this world. but there are many people, who even hearing the name of hospital seems to get frightened this is usually a kind of a "negligible" phobia.. generally hospitals maintain hygiene by cleaning floors, table surfaces etc..frequently, killing all germs and microbes even bacteria.. so why to worry?.. and hospital is not your home..you just go to it for consulting and come out. have patience! TIP: make yourself busy with small things in hospital which makes your mood feel pleasant.

True. Hospitals are actually some of the least germy places on Earth. If anyone is going to go home from hospital with a disease it would be the people who work there in the lab and not the patients. You are at least ten times more likely to get germs in your home than at a hospital, so don't worry, Jugs...you'll be fine!

Oh my goodness jugs, I'm so sorry to hear you have to go through all that. And I agree with you, I think you can get a ton of germs from hospitals. I know when the flu epidemic was high, the hospitals had machines hanging up with Purell in them so people walking around could put some on to kill bacteria. Maybe you can take a small bottle with you to clean your hands, poor kid, so you don't catch anything. I really feed bad for you.

Whatever life which is related to a hospital is always painful. The doctors, the patients, staff, medical-reps, relatives - who else not. All the hospital related life alwyas will be a trouble some job. Especially, in the advanced hospital surroundings make a mess with others who are attending the patiants. Some time just for 1 mts. job, we have to wait for 1-2 hrs. around. X rays, reports, payments etc are other sort of things. Getting the proper appointment with the doctor, time lags etc makes again more troubles tot the relatives. Pray to God that all those who are suffering from deseas to be get recovered faster and get out of hospitals at the earlist. Also, we can co-operate with the people who work with hospital and dedicated their time for day and night with hospital surroundings. Regards, Thank-s

We went to the hospital last Saturday. I went home and my father was complaining about his feeling of numbness on his left part of the body. I did panicked inside me I did not show it to him and we went straight to the hospital. The doctor said he have diabetes. I don't feel sad, I rather show a strong and happy face. I don't want my father to worry too much. As we are there, I know what you are saying that while you are in the hospital there are so many disease that you can have there, that is why my father don't want to stay there. The doctor adviced him to be outpatient and there is a series of laboratory test will undergone before he will be admitted to the hospital.

Just imagining of going to hospital for some minor treatment is already a bit scary, and I agree with you about germs and bacteria that we don't know will suddenly jump off to us. Also the medical procedure that they are going to perform that we don't know if will be 100% successful. But we have to abide by the circumstances as we have to be visit the hospital to be well from what bothers us. So no matter what - go go go.

I like hospitals more now than I used to. I am sorry you have to be in one for a period of time if you don't care for them. They are boring but you are supposed to be sleeping or resting and usually under medication. Hope it all goes well for you. Be glad they are what they are. Take care.

I'm sorry you have to go through to such things. I also don't like hospitals. What's there to like right? But no matter how much we don't like the place it's still a place of health improvement or health promotion. Boring as it could be but we're lucky to have modern hospitals today. I hope and pray you'll get along well with all these hospital procedures you have to undergone. Take care.

Even I don't enjoy spending time in the hospital. It is not because I fear the germs or anything else. It is because when I go there, I see the miseries of other people who are suffering from illness. But at the other side, when I look around, I see doctors and nurses attending to their needs, helping them feel a little bit well. I see kindness around. That's where I focus my attention.

I agree with you. That is why visitor ages 7 years old and less are not allowed to get inside the hospital (depends actually on hospital's policy starting what age is allowed), because you can easily get sick because there are many sick patients there, that you could easily get. Especially kids have low body immune system. In your case you have no choice but to be hospitalized for several days. Having an IV is so painful and so uncomfortable. So good luck to you and also to your son.

A lot of luck in your visits to the hospitals and ojala that everything goes out for you well. The truth that if I agree with you, in the hospitals you you can fish hospitable infections, it is necessary to try to avoid them, is like with the car while this one works not even to appear for the mechanic.

I think no one in the world like staying in hospitals. That's really a terrible place. What in your sight are patients and their anxious relatives. The atmosphere there can make one mad. So I believe every doctor, nurse and other workers in hospitals have a much better psychological quality than me. So I'm really sad to hear you have to stay in hospital for such a long time. I think you can make yourself busy, busy and busy to avoid thinking and feeling the atmosphere there. Best wishes to you!

Oh Jugsjugs that is so sad. My deepest heartfelt prayers to you as you go through this. I just pray that Jesus with give you the comfort that you need and the strength that you need as you go through this ordeal. I understand how you feel I am terrified of having an iv...I don't know which is worse the going in or the coming out. I have had a couple bad experiences with them and I am sure you have to because you are concerned about this. Will they do a new one each day or put a 'port' in and leave it? I don't even know if I could stand the 'port'. I think you can tell needles are not my thing. So sorry to hear about your sons problems too, I will keep you and your son, and family in prayer. God be with you.

Wow it sounds like you will be spending a lot of time at hospitals this week. Yeah they can be depressing, boring places. Luckily I have never had to spend too much time at hospitals. I have been pretty lucky that way. However in March of this year I developed a bad chest infection and was in isolation for nearly a week! To be honest, I kind of enjoy being in hospital, as long as I'm not too sick that is. I have been in hospital three times in my entire life. One for emergency surgery, another to have my tonsils out when I was a kid, and the most recent chest infection episode. I like relaxing in bed and watching TV but I admit it did get boring towards the end. Plus I didn't like all the needles I had to get especially when they kept putting in my IVs wrong. Those things can really hurt if they're not done properly! I wish you well this week for both you and your son and just remember it's only a week, it could be worse- you could need the IV every day.

It doesn't sound like you will be having much fun in the next couple of weeks. I hate hospitals also and avoid going to them if I can. I have to get a lot of tests done and they are usually done in the hospital. That is part of the reason I haven't had any for awhile. The only thing I can say is take a book or something to make the time go faster. Just keep focusing on when it'll be over and you can enjoy yourself a little. Maybe plan a treat of some kind for when it is over and then you'll have something to look forward to!
