I have been playing the guitar for 30 years now. Professionally and for fun. It is very beneficial for the mind. You will never run out of learing experiences. Addressing the broken string problem. Check where the string is mounted on the bridge. Also look for any possible places the string could be catching on something. Such as a metal burr on one of the frets or on the bridge. What gauge strings are you using? If you are using the extra light strings you may want to upgrade to heavier gauge strings. When you say first string I am assuming you are meaning the thinnest one. If the gauge is .009, try using an .011 gauge string. Even an .013 gauge. I used to break a lot of strings, usually it was the "G" , or third, until I began using a heavier gauge.

Hi Prateek,
When I was younger I love playing the guitar, and I love spending my leisure time singing with the accompaniment of guitar. When I was in grade school I also used to play banduria, it's a 14-string plucked instrument similar to mandolin. I miss those days.

Sadly no I do not play any musical instruments, but still if I were to play one it would have to be the electric guitar.
Because the electric guitar rocks out like no instrument can well in my opinion, but yeah that's why I love this instrument so much.
My dad is going to buy me one next month and I can't wait to start to learn to play it I just know it will be fun, but I know that it's not going to be all fun and games I know that it's going to be hard work learning to play that instrument.
I also wanted to play the drums and my friend got some drums so I learned from her a bit I know how to play them somewhat, but not a lot just the basic.
She bought them brand new, but that ended up costing her a lot of money still she loves her drums.

I can't play any musical instruments, but I do like music. When I was a child my parents couldn't afford to buy me some musical instruments and send me to some music interest class of this kind. But I still like to listen to the music and sing for myself. When I'm alone and longly,I always sing a song to have fun.I like a lot of songs, not only the chinese pop songs but also the english songs.I believe music is without borders.

HI,prateek
I can not play any musical instruments yet,but I wish I could play guitar one day like u,coz it should be fantastic when I hold it and play melody out with my own emotion and interpretation of music,it's awesome that I could vibrate people with my music made from the one I play....
Well.the problem of the first string........I think it's ur habbit of playing guitar, maybe it's the posture........

I can't help you out in your guitar problem since I don't play guitar but we do have one here. I better ask my brother what can be the possible reasons why your strings broke. Oh, by the way, the instrument that I play is a woodwind type of instrument. It's a clarinet, the one which Squidwart in Spongebob usually plays. haha... I've been playing it in our school marching band since 1st year High school. I also play a brass flute but had no formal training on it that's why i'm not yet an expert on my flute.

I came from a musically inclined family. so I play loads of musical instruments like piano, organ, guitar, flute, drums and I sing too. ^.^ My first instrument was the piano but that isn't really my forte, although I've learn how to compose songs using piano.
About your string always breaking.. try to tune your guitar a little lower. Maybe it's because it's already stretched out to the fullest that's why it easily breaks. Tune your guitar on the 1st string first upward following the tune of the thin 1st string of yours!

hey if you practice much then it will sound good. just practice every day it will automatically be good. I have been playing guitar for 3 years!!
I think its not due to picking hard..

Yeah, I can pick out a few tunes on a guitar and can play one song on piano. I'm not much of music player, but I know the basics lol.
