Have you ever gone to your high school reunion?
I have to confess, I have.
Actually, I've been to 2 different high school reunions.
One for the school I actually GRADUATED from, and the other I went to for 2 years before returning to public school to graduate.
However, the BEST one was the one held by the class of '72, WHOLE school reunion for Holy Cross. I think it was in 1982.
It was FUN!
I actually graduated in '71, but that class didn't think of doing a cool reunion like the class of '72 did.
Anyway, here we are, the 40 yr reunion for the class of 1970.
Now, what makes this interesting is... my brother went to that school for a year in the class of '70.
He got tickets to the reunion, but now may not be able to go. Rather than waste the money already spent, he's asked if I can go instead. He's going to let me know if he's on or off tomorrow.
I honestly think this is cool! If I go - GREAT! if not, well, there is always next year and I can start pinching pennies now to go!
oh, and I'll take a pass on the other school I think...

nope..with very few exceptions, most of those people i don't care to ever see again.
most of them were preppy cliques.the reunions up here usually turn into "i did better than you" competitions and i have nothing i feel i need to prove to them..
although i did run into one of the meanest girls a few years ago..no longer mean because her 8 kids bully her on a regular basis.

See, I never wanted to get married and I never have, so don't have failed marriages to talk about. I can talk about those things I have done that I've enjoyed so much, doing my own thing because no MAN has been telling me what I can or can't do for 40 years!

That's about how Maggiepie feels, that, and having changed schools almost every year for years...
I, on the other hand, lived in Austin my whole life, well, not the first 2 years, but the rest of it.
I have to say, this is year 35 for college and I'm passing on that, just like I have all the previous ones...

I wouldn't be able to afford to go to my highschool reunion. The highschool I went to is in California, and I live in Arizona. Getting to California is an expensive proposition for someone living on Disability.

Well, that's one less complication, now about the classmates...

I have never gotten to go to a class reunion for myself or hubby. Hubby had one a few yrs back when we were newlyweds and it was this fancy black tie affair of sorts. We didn't want to spend the money and hubby said he hardly hung out w/ enough people to justify it.
The ones I have gotten invited to well I don't have anyone to watch the kids really other than rare occasion the IL's and how many of these people do I want to see in real life that I can't see on FB?

well i think its preference. most of us now are overseas and if we wait for 5 more then there would be less or none to go to a reunion with.
my brother's school organize a reunion for every 5 years i just relate my years to that.

Went to my 10 year class reunion in 2004 and it was a waste of my time. I was pretty popular in high school. I played varsity in two sports, was in student council and all other types of things. The people I care to talk to from high school I see on a regular basis or we keep in touch. The others, I didn't talk to in high school so why would I care to go talk to them now? Lots of them forgot that thy were not in high school any more while at the reunion. Adults who still thought they were living it up in high school. I have better things to do with my time.

I wasn't popular in high school, and the people that were, were the worst about trying to relive high school - boring I agree. That's why I probably won't go to that other high school's reunion. the only ones I liked much from there, I still talk to today - the rest are trying to relive the - as Bruce Springsteen put it - "Glory Days."
The best years of school I ever had was at Holy Cross, and I'm in touch with none of them, so I am interested in going.

It sounds like fun; I hope you can get there! I’ve never been to a school reunion but my husband has and he had a ball! He travelled to the other side of the side of the country to attend the 20th year reunion and he caught up with so many people he had not seen for years. My school either has not had a reunion or more than likely I was not invited!

Some of my batchmates are already somewhere in the globe so we don't get to gather that often, and completely!
We did have a get-together last summer. And even after that, some of us made different plans to still see each other for more outings. It was fun and great seeing all of us all grown ups now.

I attended our first high school reunion September last year. I have to say that if not for Facebook, then we wouldn't had one because we actually found each other there. It was a night of fun and we did a lot of drinking since it was held in a bar. Then, we were supposed to have another one right after Christmas but it didn't push through due to most of us were not available that time. If I were to ask if I want another reunion, I'd definitely say yes.

Hi,
Since I graduated from my senior high school,no more
reunion with my school mates .
We do keep in touch with each other, but all,but some of them
and when I went back to my hometown, I will contact them
and just have a small gathering and catch up with them.
I really hope to have a big school reunion dinner one
day whereby I can see more friends and catch up with them.
I have left my school for more than 12 years and sure
lot of changes has happened.
That sound interesting for the reunion, but not easy to
handle those big reunion as some friends might have
change their contact number or their stay place.

well, they were able to reach my mom's place - called and asked if this was the right number to reach me and my bro - I called them back and let my bro know about it... yeah, we had moved, had new number, but our last name isn't a Smith or a Garcia so we were findable...

I attended two high schools, too. Both schools had a class reunion, just recently, and I wasn't able to attend to any of them. =(
I really wanna go to see my schoolmates, high school friends and share something about our lives now.
But, I heard that my elementary school is going to have an alumni reunion, that would be fun! I wish I could come. I have so many friends in elementary that I would really wanna see. I can't wait. =]

I went to one 50 years from the opening of one of the elementaries I went to, and then another for a middle school I went to - gosh, I guess it was 25 for that one or was it 30? funny, there were some parents sending their kids to school there that went when I was there

Hi Elic,
No, I've never gone to a high school reunion. Now that we've moved half way across the U.S. I probably never will go to one. There are a few people I would like to see again to see how they're doing and what they've done in their lives. I keep in touch with two people I knew during high school. One I went to high school with and the other I just knew during high school years.

I have never attended any of my class reunions. I just see some of their pictures and I thought it must have been fun but I never attended any of them. I didnt like to go to reunions anyway cause I know that my friends are not gonna be there. I dont like it if my friends are not there cause I am pretty sure I am not going to have fun with the others.

I have not been to my class reunion not because I didn't want to go but because our former class presidents never set one up. They sent out letters and e-mails and I responded. They wanted us to vote on the best time and type of reunion. I don't know if not enough people wanted to have one or if they just didn't have the funds. Bottomline: I'm still waiting....

Never. I've never even visited my high school ever since I graduated.
Am I an ungrateful alumna?
My friends from high school won't go so i didn't go. And when they wanted to go, I wasn't available.

I guess i went to the 10 yr for the other school because most of my friends would be there, but they haven't been interested since
besides, that school reunions are OBSESSED with the prom that we never had! class of 350+ students and less than 20 wanted to go to the prom...
