What is your hair style?

I currently have long hair. When I put it back in a ponytail, it is about a foot long. When it's down, it hangs halfway down my back. I have a very energetic two year old son, and I'm expecting my second son in about 3 weeks. I have seriously been considering cutting my hair short.
Right now, I like the convenience of being able to throw my hair back in a ponytail when I don't have time to wash it, or I don't have time to style it (which is about 99% of the time). I do like the way it looks when I have the time to style it and can blow dry and straighten it. But, like I said, that is only about once a month.
I look at other moms out there with short hair, and think it would be so much easier to style than mine. And a lot of shorter cuts don't even involve much styling at all. The downside is that my husband loves long hair. But honestly, he isn't the one that has to deal with it. Lol...
So, my questions are...
- With little kids at home and a busy schedule, do you prefer having shorter hair or longer hair?
- Why do you prefer one over the other?
- Exactly how long or short is your hair?
- How much time does it take you to style it?
- Do you miss having a different hairstyle?
Thanks so much! :-)

I actually just got my hair cut so now it is shoulder length. If you want your hair long enough for a ponytail, then I would just keep it shoulder length. It's not too long and not too short. That way your husband will still be happy and it won't take you as long to style it. Besides, not everyone looks good in a short haircut. I know I don't.

I've had my hair short before, but I also didn't have kids then. I'll have to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight before I do cut it (if I do). Even though I don't feel like my face has swollen at all, I know it has.
I don't know. I guess I feel like if my hair is long enough to put in a ponytail, then I'll always put it back, because it's so easy and doesn't take any time. Maybe if I HAVE to do something to it, then I'll feel better about the way I look. That's my biggest problem right now. I feel like I don't take the time for myself anymore. I don't know. Lol... Thanks for you response!

We actually have the same hair length except mine is straight. I used to have a wavy hair and I have it straightened at the parlor last year. What surprise me is I was told that this would be effective for only 4-6 months but it's almost 11 months now and my hair is still straight and easy to manage. Sometimes I consider to cut it into shoulder length for a change but I still love my hair because I can style it anyway I want.

I have a long hair and I usually keep my hair putting clips and trying with hair band in a ponytail.I love to keep my hair long and feel very comfortable and I look quite attractive.Whereas short hair doesn't suits me.

i used to have long hair. i loved it. it was long black shaggy. i liked the look alot. but having long hair is a lot of work. i dont like how i look with short hair but it benefits. with short hair its not as hot, and u dont have to comb it.

I love to have long hair with bangs but I had a hard time maintaining it. Sometimes I have long straight hair and sometimes short depending on my mood.

I lost my comb about 30 years ago, and it just turned up in my dresser drawer the other day. I Knew what it was, immediately I saw it again. Actually my hair fell out about the same time as I lost my comb. Haircuts cost the same, with or without, hair so I bought a set of clippers and cut my own hair. I have saved $6000.00 in 30 years, which has done me no good because I never knew I'd saved it, until I got out the calculator. Hair is just a nuisance, but nobody realizes this until they lose their comb and don't bother to look for it. My life didn't change one iota, (except when I started clipping around my ears)and I wouldn't take my hair back again for any less than $6000.00.

Hi, delmeg
I have long hair, about several inches down my shoulders. I also have bangs. I find this convenient because, I just towel dry it, find my hairline and comb it. I do not have to do much styling because it is straight. I can go out of the house with my hair wet and trust that it would just get dry and be straight. Also if it is too hot, I can tie it in a ponytail.
Sometimes, I wish I have enough courage to have short hair but I do not think I would look good with it.
Have a nice day!

Right now my hair is very long. I prefer my hair to be shorter. It is so much easier to manage when it is shorter. I am thinking of getting my hair cut very soon. I just have not decided what kind of hair style i want right now. Still, the time for changing the length is coming.

I currently have long straight hair that is a wide range of different colors. I have always had long hair even when my kids were little because it is easy to tie back out of the way. I will always have hair that I can tie back because it is easy to do different styles for different looks and I always change the color of my hair.

My hair right now is about shoulder length and needing cut. My bangs fall down into my eyes because they are too long. I have been told that this is in style but its not for me. I like to be able to see where I am going lol. I am going to have to get it cut soon. To me it looks too shaggy this way.

I experienced this too. I have a very long and shiny hair but when I gave birth to my first child, I always tie them. Now my hair was not that good when hanged over my shoulders so I need to cut it short. Its not really easy to have long hair especially when you baby is pulling them and making fun of it. It really hurts so better to have short hair especially when your taking care a hyperactive child.

I don't have yet kids but I do have a serious busy working schedule. Ever since I was a kid I always have my hair long, I'm used to it so i prepare to have my hair long for the rest of my life. It never goes out in my mind that I cut it too short something like clean cut for men. 6 months ago I decided to dread my 12inch hair. It's a way different from having a long ordinary hair because it needs a lot of patience and discipline. Although I'm so determined to have dreadlocks for a long period of time, I still sometimes miss my previous beautiful long thick straight black hair style.
As for my hairstyle maintenance you can check my previous discussion about it.
