I love Disney's classics, well who does not? Movies like "The little mermaid" and "Beauty and the beast" which has been famous for ages! I loved those classics because they looked so full of life, the colors and the drawing. everything was made by hand and yet looked realistic, those artists who drew it were awesome. But today you don't see much of that old stuff... most of disney's movies are in 3d( by computer) and they make tv series' like "Zack and cody", "hannah montana" and some more "I am a teenager with issues" shows. I have heard that the princess and the frog was good... did not even watched this. I guess... I am having some nostalgic crisis... do you miss the old Disney movies? the old style which Disney ruined in the last few years? I know I do:(

I've always love the fact that I grew up watching lots of Disney even though we had to see them in a neighbor's house, among the few who had tv then. And I must say that Disney's classics can rival those of many of today's.

I know! The fact that Disney developed to 3d modeling at computer instead of sketches and drawing just can not beat the old stuff. Just look at old classics like beauty and the beast, how smooth the animation runs. I believe it is Disney's failure to become popular by teenagers, people already loved Disney for them movies even though they were rated for children. They became money and famous monsters:(

I love Disney! They make kids happy as well as the kids at heart. Their films are lighthearted and with moral lessons. My favorite would be Aladdin, Beauty & The beast, Lion King, Cinderella.

I know, it is watching a movie and learning something moralistic for your life, a win win situation. Most of them work these days are just to make people laugh for 2 secs... everything they do these days is so... shallow, like Hannah Montana " Oh it is I, Miley Cirus! I am pretending to be a normal girl who is pretending to be a blond superstar! and every episode people ALMOST, but just ALMOST find out about my secret but eventually they fail... wow..."- the morale? paint your hair to blond, scream a lot, be a showoff and lie as much as you need, because that way everything will turn out good-- NOT =\

I loved "The Little Mermaid" and "Beauty and the Beast". I also loved "Mulan", "The Princess and the Frog" (when Disney casted Keith David as the villain, I was sold), and I loved "Gargoyles" (again Keith David as "Goliath", this man has a sexy commanding voice, he is on my list of favorite voice-over actors). I love Disney, but lately, Disney has been disappointing me. I am not a fan of "Zack and Cody" and I don't the show is all that funny. The same goes with "That's So Raven" and "Hannah Montana". As for the 3D Animation. Disney better get the people from Pixar to overhaul their animation studio before they go under economically. Pixar is doing great. Heck, "Toy Story 3" did great in the box office and smoked just about every animated film this year. "Tangled" is going to be a royal mess, and as a fan of the original "Rapunzel" story, I am ashamed of Disney for this atrocity. Look at the main male character from the film and look at one of the main male characters from the film "The Road to El Dorado". They are the exact same character. Rapunzel looks like a Barbie Doll with magical hair. I know that Disney loves to "water stories down", which is okay because the original stories are too dark or too over the top for children, but this was taking it too far. I don't know who was in charge of animation for the film, but they need to go back to film school and start this film from scratch. I saw "The Princess and the Frog" and I loved it and I thought that it was a good film, but Disney is going to win the audience on this one. I am not against Rapunzel having blonde hair, but hey, a pink dress? Really? Let's bring up "Ryder" or "Rider" the main male character and the thief. A thief? Disney couldn't be more original. Also, he has a white horse. He rode in on a white horse? COME ON DISNEY! This isn't like you guys! Where did the originality go? Did it die after "The Princess and the Frog"? I will watch the old school Disney films, but I am refusing to watch "Tangled".

Holy cow I just saw Tangled's trailer . They made Rapunzel as some sort of "Hair-ninja", and the thief is just like 'prince charming' from Shrek. You are defenetly right, it is no secret that the last decade was like Disney's Dark age, I can actually count the times they succeeded with something they made on my left hand alone.

Definitely. Watching Disney classics was a way of growing up in the 80s. I think they were fantastic especially in the age when animation was not such big ticket. But off late, I see others such as Pixar have taken over from Disney. Now I love Pixar movies more that Disney movies. Cheers! Ram

You are right Pixar are taking control in the field of animation movies lately. But even these days, when new animated movies are released they can not compete the quality of old Disney films.

I share the exact same sentiment as you. I miss the old Disney Princesses movies. I don't like the movies Disney produce nowadays, all those 3D stuff and corny teen movies. If only they can make another Princess movie that is as good as the Disney classics, like Cinderella, etc. I hope they also make more sequels to the old classics. Princess and the Frog was just okay with me. It was not as good as Beauty and the Beast and other Disney classics.

I am sure it was not, I believe Disney have lost them magical touch, nothing can compare to the old Disney fairy-tale movies. Especially Beauty and the Beast, I always have the feeling that this movie is a masterpiece.

I totally agree with you! I like disney classic movies/cartoons rather those which are currently being played in the channel. It is but fitting to call them classics because it really can be watched over and over again without getting bored with it. I especially love beauty and the beast, the little mermaid, cinderella, snow white, the lion king, aladdin and of course mickey and friends! I downloaded disney sing-a-long and showed them to my nephews and nieces. I would rather let them watch cartoon classics like those than watch the current ones. I think the current ones are more complicated and not-so-suited for very young kids.

They are not so new, they come from the 80's and the early 90's. But I mean mostly to the last decade... they kind of... failed lately, don't you think? Its like they got down by few levels of quality, and decided to go on quantity.

I love those Disney classics as well. They're just so amazing! Actually, I think part of the reason why I love them so much is because as a kid the Disney classics were pretty much all I watched. I practically grew up on them.

I also love all the Disney Classics... but I've also enjoyed a large number of their recent movies. I don't watch the Disney Channel at all or any of the shows like Hannah Monntana and Zach and Cody, but I like their recent live-action movies like Pirates of the Caribbean and Soccer's Apprentice. I also really love all of Pixar's films. I saw Princess and the Frog too, and I really enjoyed it! If you like Disney classics, you might enjoy Princess and the Frog.

Hi Gaboni, I love Disney too, I loved watching Mickey Mouse and other famous Disney characters when I was a kid. The Little Mermaid, The Lion King and Mulan are among my favorites. Another unforgettable Disney creation is Herbie, the Volkswagen Beetle that has a mind of his own and is capable of driving himself; my kids love watching this movie over and over again (the one with Lindsay Lohan, she was still wholesome back then).

I liked that movie a lot! Indeed Lidsay Lohan was seen there while she was healthy, pretty and had something to hold at Today, so many acters are so thin... when I see pictures of them I feel like offering them a sandwich. I mean yes, there is no doubt that you are beautiful but you seem like your gonna faint right away.

Yes there actually are many, need more than two hands to count them all. About Tarzan, it is a great proof that Disney are successful with making 2d movies even when the plot is not a fairy-tale. Just like Pocahontas, if you never knew its based on a real Indian girl which the Englishmen started to build colonies on her father's lands... And all the storyline of the first movie is real. Same goes for Pocahontas 2, except the part when she had a fight with the king, got into jail, escaped and proved her innocence. She was the speaker between her tribe to the king of England.

i have 2 little girls and since i was a kid i have always love disney classic. i introduced my kids to these movies because i want them to dream of their own prince charming and their own happily ever after. which practically i did not have. i bought them movies of the disney princesses like snow white, cinderella, sleeping beauty, little mermaid, beauty and the beast and the princess and the frog. my girls love them. with the colorful animation and clear audio, i think my eldest even memorized the some of their dialogues.

I remember that as a young boy I memorized all of Beauty and the beast, with the songs also. I think I watched that movie for about 30 or 40 times... I would watch it whenever I was bored and had nothing good to do...

Old Disney movies are CLASSIC! The story lines are phenomenal and very effective to the children of those times including myself. No one can beat those movies, but i think we have to accept the changes that are happening specially when it comes to the technology we have nowadays. I am not opposing your point of view and i totally agree with you on the classic movies of Disney, i just think that we are going thru changes, i mean vast changes not only in our technology but also in other aspects of life! :) peace!

I remember when I was a kid I keep on watching the little mermaid and repeating it too much to the extent that the tape is having a damage. I also like the concept of the Beauty and The Beast. Good thing those characters such as Cinderella, Belle and Ariel are still alive nowadays that they are including on marketing collateral meaning they have the printed products like towels, handkerchiefs, bags and many more. That is the reason why niece still appreciating it now.

I love Disney movies too- I love everything about it, the animation ,the story and most especially the songs and dancing. There are new Disney movies/animations these past few years that I've watched and they're really good- like Enchanted, Princess and the Frog and Tangled.
