We have so many subjects in school that help us in the preparation of being a good and competitive employee someday, but do you think all these subjects are helpful? I have read an article under opinion section saying there are some subjects they find not helpful and that it would be better for it to be replaced with better ones and skill trainings.

I can honestly say that nothing I have ever learned in my life has been "unuseful" to me. Every bit of knowledge in some way has been a benefit even if only indirectly. The older I get the more I find this is true and the more situations come up that I find myself drawing on some lesson learned in school or life experience itself. These lessons also add to your life experience collectively even though they don't seem relevant in themselves. No matter how unusable a piece of knowledge or lesson may seem at the time you learn it, at some point in your life there will come an occasion in which you will be glad you learned it, I can promise you this. Leave no lesson ignored, you will use it one day, even if you cannot possibly imagine how or why at the time it is taught to you.

True enough. I cannot agree with you less. When I was in college, I thought just the same as what these young people are thinking. However, I then realized as I grew older that you just will never know when you can use those irrelevant lessons you learned in school. And when you find yourself in those situations, you will be thankful you took those lessons after all.

Nice to see you here; Am gaby7- you are my friend at triond! But back to your topic, i think we learn a lot of useless courses these days, they are colonial and they dont really address the concrete realities of our time-most of the education we get are those that train us to look for jobs, we never create jobs with our education, but the jobs are not there, where is the point in trying wield a certificate which has no job to chase?

Well i can't think basically of just one subject that i find really unnecessary..i can say that i may be hating some of my subjects before but i know they can be of use somehow when i would pass along that topic of the subject. Spanish for example, i really find it boring and wasn't paying much attention to it before, but now i really regretted not studying it well..it is really useful especially with the kind of work i have now.

There seems to be a few wasted subjects but for the most part, I have really been pleased with how useful everything is. Plus, there is always a chance that just because a subject does not really seem useful right at the moment, does not mean that the subject will not be useful in the future. That is just some food for thought.
Still, I do wish there was a lot less fluff. I always tried to get all of those classes out of the way first, before focusing on the classes that I felt that I needed to take. Of course, those softer classes can relieve some stress, even though it does seem like a waste of time. As I said, you really never know when you might need what you learn in those classes in the future. It might be useful and it might never be useful, but if it comes up, I think we'll all be glad that we learned it.

Though these subjects are useless you have learn 'cause if you don't go through it. You might have not known that the particular subject is useful or not. It is same our life there are different times that under goes in our life. Some times happiness and if not sorrow. Through this only you get a lesson to learn. For me these are not unuseful subjects but it counts lot to me.
